African night sounds of the lions roaring, hippos grunting and hyenas calling are part of the bush experience. Elephant and buffalo can be seen feeding in the Crocodile River. This is a birdwatcher’s paradise and with species such as the eastern nicator, yellow-billed, red-billed, grey and crowned hornbills found here. The iconic sound of an African fish eagle’s call calms even the most stressed soul.

Lovely stay with excellent location.
We spent the week at Marloth Bush Retreat and asked if we could check in early as we are about 900 meters from them and had to check out at 10h00. The place was ready, neat and clean. The house had all the necessary things that one needs to have a good time. The pool was spotless, and the garden looked wonderful. We had an incredible number of animals that came to visit us, day and night. I would recommend people who would like to have a peaceful, very luxurious holiday/weekend to contact them. He is also a cook, and makes his own pizzas from his home, right next to the holiday home. I will definitely visit them again. Thank you very much for the kindness and assistance right through our stay.
Just the most perfect place to go and rest your soul amongst nature. Hosts were just lovely and the accommodation perfect for 2 or 20 people. Definitely a place we will return to.

Many animals came to visit, including warthogs, kudus, bushbucks, blue wildebeest, etc. We rested wonderfully for the few days and had a great time staying at Marloth Bush Retreat. It was a nice break from the city. People very friendly, nice environment.
The place makes you feel like you are literally in the woods. Morné is very hospitable and made sure everything was in order. Neat, safe, clean and quiet. Close enough to the shops. Divers, ibex, zebras, kudus, impalas and many pigs came to visit! Can definitely recommend the place and will use the facility again. Marloth Bush Retreat is value for money.
We enjoyed the stay very much. Received very kindly and there is absolutely nothing too short. Will definitely visit again. The house is wonderfully laid out and likes the 2 separate guest rooms on the outside with all amenities needed. This is a must if you want a great stay in Marloth.
We were reminded in advance of our reservation and received a park map with contact number via sms. We were kindly received on arrival. It was beautifully clean and all the facilities were in working order.
It is a very nice place that is well equipped. Very clean and tidy. Ideal for large families. Animals roam freely around the house. Upon request, the owner served us a delicious meal on the front porch that was out of the books. Will recommend everyone to visit the place. One of the best.

The house is in walking distance to the shops and the Giraffe Pub is also walking distance. The house itself has everything you need. The bush babies are fantastic.

Marloth Bush Retreat is a gem in the middle of the bush. The large splash pool was a relief in the summer heat. The house is large and neatly furnished. The bathrooms are extremely modern and spacious. The owner welcomed us kindly and explained all rules and regulations nicely. Although the accommodation was located right next to the owners' apartment, it didn't bother us at all. Another advantage is that the accommodation can also accommodate up to 8 people. We would only have liked a firepit spot, to be able to watch the bush TV, although there are good braai facilities.

Great hosts, great place! Made us feel so welcome and like we were friends for years, absolutely value for money and would return in a heartbeat.
Friendly host and hostess. It was very hot and we just cooled off in the splash pool. Saw many animals. Zebras, mongoose, divers and the night monkey. Especially the little warthogs were very cute and the kudus came around often. We were lucky to see a large mane on the other side of the river and herds of elephants. Unit has everything needed. No complaints.
If you're looking for the peacefulness of nature around you and you just want to rest, it's the ideal place to book.

Genie was a great host. House is nice and neat, very quiet with many animals that come to visit. Nice pool for the hot days, will definitely stay there again.
The hospitality and privacy was so nice. Definitely very nice if parents want privacy from children. Clean, tidy and exactly what we needed. There were warthogs, goats and monkeys which made our stay so interesting and cool photos.

It was a very nice weekend, thank you. The roads in the area are decent, but could be improved for regular vehicles.
Excellent value for money. The unit is adequately equipped with everything one needs for a peaceful getaway in nature. The amount of wildlife in and near the unit was more than expected with a peaceful outdoor area, boma and pool.
Firstly, the shower on the first floor's water leaked right through to the bottom bathroom. There was no casserole in the kitchen, some of the fork's prongs were bent. The place can accommodate 8 people, but most of the utensils does not make provision for 8 people. The towels smelled off. The Braai-facilities are not much better, the braai grid hangs from a chain and it is very unstable. The fact that the braai facilities isn't under a roof is another big problem, because you have no shelter against the rain, if it were to rain. Prospective guests are asked to bring their own wash and drying cloths, which we did, but the one drying cloth they had there looked more like a floor cloth.
The house has two rooms outside that do not form part of the house. Only one room has a double bed. The place is very cramped and if it rains, eight people cannot fit in the house with only 3 chairs. House is about 3 meters from the owner's house. So no privacy.

The unit is comfortable with all equipment that may be required for a nice, relaxed stay in nature. Enjoy the animals and birds, there are also night monkeys but we didn't see them. Remember this is the Lowveld, so make provision to take mosquito repellent with you.
