We really enjoyed our stay at Marloth Sanbonani. The daily visitors from nature were an experience for the children. It's not every day that a kudu or warthog comes to visit you on your porch. The house is equipped with everything one needs. I would have liked a place in the bathroom to hang my bath towel but that's just personal preference. Love the size of the pool, just enough to cool off. Would have been nice if the shade net was over the pool like in the photos. The pool water didn't smell very good, maybe just chlorine or something thrown in regularly, although it wasn't so bad that you couldn't swim. For people who like simplicity this place is perfect. Will definitely come here again.
We had a very nice holiday at Marloth Sanbonani, but unfortunately on arrival there was some rodent droppings in the kitchen, on the counter, in the rooms, and on the windowsill which needed to be cleaned first (we cleaned it ourselves). I suspect it may belong to night monkeys that come into the house somewhere when it is empty, because there were no signs of mice or rats. The rest of the house was pretty clean except for the porch which needed a good sweep to get rid of leaves and branches. The air conditioning in the house runs on a prepaid meter, but the units last quite a long time. We bought R100 per air conditioner for 3 nights and there were still units left at the end. The house is pretty modern inside, the furniture is nice, the beds are nicely covered and comfortable to sleep on, and the WiFi is fast enough to listen to music or watch YouTube. Note, the shade net that is in the photos over the splash pool is no longer there, so if you want to sit in it in the summer, you unfortunately sit directly in the sun for most of the day. We saw a lot of wildlife from the porch: lots of zebras, blue wildebeest, lots of warthogs, a giraffe, etc. The location near the river is perfect for visitors who want to see as many animals as possible. The roads to Marloth Sanbonani were also beautiful despite rain earlier in the week.
We had a lovely stay at Sanbonani. The chalet has everything you need and is set out well. I wouldn't say it can comfortably accommodate 6 adults as noted on the website though, I would say 4 adults and 2 small children. The kitchen had everything you need, a stove, microwave, big fridge and all the utensils. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and modern and all bedding is supplied. The location is great as it is near the river and the animals come right to your patio every day. The ability to buy electricity units for the aircon is great, it's easy to do and updates immediately. There is also free wifi - always a plus. There are a few things that can be improved on: The expectation is that you wash your own dishes - which is fine, but I had to wash a lot of items before we were able to use them. The countertops and floor were also not very clean. We, unfortunately, could not swim in the pool as the chlorine level was extremely high, I believe this has been reported before. Please also take note that the geyser is switched off, so as soon as you arrive, go to switch it on at the DB board. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay.
The house is very cute and comfortable. New beds/mattresses may be looked at. Other than that, als was really great.
No bath towels, spade was cracked.
The directions on where to get your key are confusing. You don't get it at the gate as thought, but ahead at the mall by Field Service Security group. It could be made more clear to customers that it is not available at the gate, which we thought the Field Service Agent was at.
Everything you need for a weekend getaway. We rested very well and enjoyed adventure in the cute little place.
Very nice place to stay with all the wild animals that come to visit.
Sanbonani was a great place to stay. Everything is working, the pool is there but it’s more like a hot tub with the heat we had. A lot of animals all around you. Will definitely book again.
I would recommend more comfortable seating on the patio as the wooden bench is not the most comfortable. The seating around the fire pit was a challenge as the concrete benches and paving was infested with ants making sitting around the fire totally impossible. Apart from the above, it was a lovely unit and a very enjoyable stay.
Affordable, close to the Crocodile River and close to Crocodile Bridge. It's a very nice place for about 4 people.
Plekkie is number 1 and the night owls were cute to see. They might just put more chairs in to use outside.
Quiet and comfortable. Ideal getaway for our family.
Loved the place. Everything about it is stunning. A coffee making machine would make it even more spectacular though.
Found Sanbonani's location perfect with good value for money.
Beautiful setting, neat and clean house. Had everything you needed for a quick get away.
All we were not happy with is that the pool was not cleaned properly and I had to do it myself. Also very nice.
