All units are self-catering. Guests have access to a fully licensed bar, a lounge area with a TV, a swimming pool as well as pool and tennis table.

On arrival we still didn't have access to the gate, a few calls and it was fixed. We ordered wood and charcoal, upon arrival in the afternoon we could not locate anyone in reception (except a young lady who was playing TV games and could not be of help). I went to buy wood in Dinokeng store and canceled with reception. Grill light tripped the db board, so grilled in the dark. No hot water as we forgot to turn on our geyser. (Caretaker came out at night to turn on geyser and refer us to an open unit to shower there). Very nice and clean place, all the little problems just unfortunately didn't make it a nice experience.
Very nice units. Unfortunately only did the overnight thing. Will definitely book an extra night next time to be able to take it all in.

Maroela Treetop Lodge exceeded all expectations. So nice and tidy, everything we needed. The Nyalas drank water right at our front door and it was very special. We would love to go again.
The accommodation was beautiful, clean and perfect for a weekend away. The lady that helped us at reception was very friendly and helpful. It was a great stay. We didn't do the Dinokeng self-drive as it was rather pricey and we were uncertain if it would be worth our while but the lodge gave us a info file of other activities in the area which we found very enjoyable.
Maroela Treetop Lodge is a stone throw away from Dinokeng. They offer luxury rooms at great prices. We stayed in unit 1, which had an amzing king size bed with clean linen. The shower had strong pressure and the bathtub was very big. The porch had a built in braai and we could relax at the fire in private. The lodge had 2 swimming pools and is ideal for larger groups as well as for couples looking for a place to stay in the bushveld (and very close to Pretoria). I would definitely go back again.
Maroela Treetop Lodge was very professional and hospitable. Units are neat, clean and very well equipped. The covered braai at the unit is unique and for me a "nice touch", nice and private. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
From arrival until we drove off the service was fantastic. The living units are neat and comfortable. Will definitely want to go there again.
Perfect for our twins, braai area is nicely 'closed' with small wall, so they could play without being able to get out and run to other parts. Perfect for babies and toddlers.
Had a great stay and enjoyed the time. Just think they need to update their recreational facilities for younger kids.
We stayed in unit number 2, and really, really enjoyed it! Perfect unit for 2 people, and the private lapa with the braai makes it very special. The outdoor shower is also great for those who are a bit more adventurous, but the indoor bathroom has a lot of space, with a nice big bath which will be a bonus especially for the ladies. Will definitely use Maroela again when we visit the reserve again, as all the units (except the 4 upper ones) have their own private lapas. The lapa is definitely for me the reason why I would book here over other places, because it leads to privacy, space, and even with rain, you can still sit outside and still barbecue and enjoy your meals!
A bit of noise from other guests late evenings and early mornings, but it's not always under control of management. Other than that, everything was perfect.

The service we received was friendly and accommodating. The place is very nice and the rooms are neat.
We spent a weekend away from the children at Maroela and were pleasantly surprised at how man and nature can become one! We came back recharged and ready for the final part of the year. Will go back to relax anytime.

The braai area of the chalets on the ground level (we were in no. 2) is wonderfully private and sheltered from the winter wind and we had a great time! Bathrooms are great and the outdoor shower is a very nice addition.
We both work really hard and worked all through December so we really needed a bit of a break. Many thanks to Shane and Nico for making us feel so welcome. We had the best room with the most beautiful view. We loved the outdoor shower. We had so much fun relaxing by the pool! In the photos of the unit (7) that we (3 adults) booked, it appeared that there were two bedrooms which was reinforced by the fact that the description of the particular unit expressly said "accommodates 4 adults" - contrary to the "maximum 3 adults" which also occurs. The website also indicated that there is a well-equipped kitchen and an open-plan living area and that one can obtain meals at an extra cost. Then the unit turned out to be one large room with a double and single bed, a very basic kitchenette with only a microwave, two plate stove and bar fridge, and an enclosed outdoor patio, and there were no meals available.

We drove out to other resorts The embellishment is well positioned and has great potential, I am sure due to COVID the occupancy has been low as a result not much of services are offered like cleaning etc., however take advantage of your location and ease of access to getting there, just over an hour from GP. The establishment should introduce some specials to get better occupancy like midweek specials etc. We were possibly one of 3 units occupied. Other resorts of a similar nature were quite busy as we noticed while driving around.

When I searched for accommodation in Dinokeng I did not mean near Dinokeng. This place isn't in Dinokeng, it's falls outside the reserve. Initially when I made the booking, I got an SMS stating the resort was fully booked. A day later I got a revised quotation assuming there was a cancellation. There was no one there on Saturday, it was only me and my two young boys. We feared for our safety Saturday night and after asking that the light outside the room be switched on so we could at least see outside the room, I got a nasty reply that the lights wouldn't be on the whole night which I don't think is too much to ask if I'm woman alone sleeping there with 2 young boys. The place was filthy, the swimming pool was full of bees. The leaves weren't cleaned up in the yard, there was old furniture stacked away everywhere and we were immediately warned of the snakes in the area (which is not what you tell 2 young boys!). The pool table's sticks were broken, the pool table was worn. Most of the lights in the unit were blown, they were grinding and drilling there on Saturday (the whole day) and I was put in a completely different room to the one I booked (no 1) and the owner and manager of the resort kept walking past the room so we felt like we had no privacy. There was not even a light in the braai so you had to use a torch to braai. Even the table outside on the stoep was dirty. There was no room cleaning unless you paid extra. It was a harrowing experience and I won't recommend this to anyone.

Was nice to get away from city noise. The staff were friendly and the unit was tidy.
Maroela Treetop Lodge is a beautiful place. Located close to Pretoria. As well as at Dinokeng where there is a lot to do and see. Misty Monkeys is a must. Units clean and tidy. We had the whole lodge for the weekend with friends and family and everyone said they had a great stay. Food was excellent. Breakfast and dinners. Very friendly and helpful people. It was a very nice weekend for all of us.

We had a family weekend in April at Maroela Treetop Lodge. Shane and his wife was pleasant and they went out of their way to make the weekend enjoyable and smooth. The use of the lapa was excellent and clean. When we as family departed they all had high praises for the accommodation and the accessibility of the lodge. We all will be back soon and well done Maroela Treetop Lodge, you will be recommended to all our friends and family.

Nice, clean and tidy, but did not feel welcome and the manager of the resort was unprofessional and does not care about the guests and is also very uninformed about matters. Poor communication, no value for your money.
Room and facilities were very good. However, other guests played extremely loud music throughout the weekend, even though you advertise that no music is allowed in rooms. Their Ford ST was blaring on the grass right in front of our room! Drunk and made noise around the room until late at night. Very very disappointed with the "definitive bushveld" experience. Couldn't even enjoy our lapa (very neat and comfortable) without a deafening noise... Might as well have slept in hotel in the city. The staff was not quite up to standard with their service. Wood not available. Who should control the noise? Would love to visit the reserve again ─ self-drive trips were our salvation.

Accommodation at Maroela Treetop Lodge comprises 20 units, which are tastefully decorated. The thatched roofed units consist of open-plan living, with the bedroom area equipped with either a king-size bed, that can be configured into 2 single beds. These units also feature en-suite bathrooms fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. The downstairs units have extra outdoor showers. Amenities include; a well-equipped kitchenette, air-conditioning and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Guests have access to a private lapa verandah and braai patio.
All units are self-catering. Guests have access to a fully licensed bar, a lounge area with a TV, a swimming pool as well as pool and tennis table.
Guests who book the self-catering units can make use of the 2 conference venues at an additional fee, each venue features a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge, dining, boma and braai area. Each venue can accommodate between 20-60 people, is airconditioned and has access to a pool area.
Catering can be done for groups exceeding 30 people on request.
