We stayed in Impala. It felt like vacation. Well-equipped self-catering accommodation, extremely neat and clean with wonderful service.
What an amazing place to come and relax, field, amazingly beautiful sunsets with stars going into the deep. The owners and staff, everyone was excellent and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Even made my fiance feel special with his 40th birthday road trip. We will definitely come back again.
It was a bit difficult to find initially, as the location pin they sent us did not work. The lady that helped us, however, gave us directions, and once we found it, it was very easy. The place is very close outside Kimberley, but far enough to experience the bush. It is very comfortable, very neat, and it was a real pleasure to stay there. Everything was there.
Unfortunatly the "unit" we stayed in was very dated and dirty. The aircon in the one room did not work properly and the other was very noisy and in a room that had a ceiling full of very noisy and smelly bats. The one shower did not function except for one squirt of water coming out the head and the kettle was full of scale. . The setting was amazing and the people friendly.
Was the first week in January. The aircon's remote did not work. Braai pit was full of ashes. The ice and freezer were off when we arrived. Farm yard makes mischief. On a positive note - good value for money. Cottage fully equipped and kindly received.
An en-suite bathroom would be a recommendation, in certain areas. Not comfortable sharing such facilities especially if it is not your household. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. Friendly reception.
Was an enjoyable visit. Only negative is that the hunting season limits the movement in the forest.
But the braai area is very poor. The zinc roof is rusted and full of holes, it was under water with the rain we couldn't have barbecue there, roof must be repaired before people can live here again. It was really a mess.
The air conditioner in the kitchen did not work. The air conditioner in room 3 was leaking badly. Two of the bedside lamps in room 1 did not work. We were moved to another unit because we had dogs, even though the website clearly said pets were welcome and we had pre-arranged it that way.
We stayed in the Hunter's cottage which lived up to the expectation of a basic yet well appointed old farmstead cottage in the bush. A big bag of wood was most welcomed for braaing purposes. Just had difficulty contacting the office / reception when arriving at gate. Tried all five numbers displayed at least 3 times each before finally being answered and allowed access.
Very friendly people, but. We booked the cottage, but had to stay in the big house [sharing]. No hot water, only one toilet working [sort of]. Woken up at 23:30 for no reason at all.
It's on a game farm, but the accommodation is in an old building right next to the farm house on the site. Not in the game camp.
Will definitely visit again.

Ideal place to spend the night near Kimberley. The wildlife on the farm is a bonus to see. The Jagtershuisie is exceptionally spacious with the largest bathrooms I have seen in a long time. Winchester room has a double bed and large en-suite bathroom and the Holland Holland room has a double bed and 2 single beds with an en-suite bathroom. Each bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. Buy a large bag of wood for R60 but please remember. matches if you don't smoke Lots of fridge facilities. Will definitely stay here again in the same house.
Enjoy except restrictions make everything difficult. The lodge is well located.
We had a whole farmhouse for the two of us. Although it was an old building everything worked. There was hot water for showering and the kitchen had everything needed. Even fire wood was provided.
Restful overnight stay in beautiful surroundings. Lovely cottage and braai area. Unfortunately kitchen and especially kitchen cupboards was disappointing, needs attention.
We chose Marrick from a number of options based on value for money and what they offered. They exceeded our expectations in every way. The family suite was huge and incredibly comfortable and the staff warm and friendly. The setting is just gorgeous and the variety of wildlife we saw was incredible.
The unit was neat and well stocked. It was comfortable and convenient and absolutely beautiful. It's definitely a nice getaway!
We stayed in the Impala Cottage/House. It appeared as if the unit had not been cleaned for a very long time and that no maintenance was being done either. No electricity for the time we went home there. The photos on the website are very misleading as they do not look at all as presented. Exiting the gate was also a problem, the contact number on the gate was not available.

Beautiful location, quiet, nice swimming pool, possibilities for walking. Morning drive to feed animals was also pleasant, in short we are very satisfied.

We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious and the workers friendly. The only complaint is getting in and out of the gate. I suggest a guest should get a remote and not have to call every time.
We have stayed the night at many places where the host received us kindly. Our overnight prices were the same. Some of the air conditioning units were out of order and the location of the switches for the lights was not explained.
Self-catering unit has everything someone needs to be able to stay comfortably. Calm atmosphere.
