Had a sick child during the stay and everyone went out of their way to help and doctor. Children involved in farm life and really went out of their way to make it an unforgettable stay. We had a great time and enjoyed the tranquility. The host was real peasant people and went out of his way to make our stay so enjoyable. The large indoor barbecue in the kitchen, the free WiFi and the fantastic shower were the cherry on the cake. Would recommend anyone to experience it. Thank you Ferdi, your wife and your Dad.
Lovely little house, equipped with everything needed. Delicious large indoor barbecue for a nice visit. A large, neat lawn leaves plenty of space for children to frolic. Lovely to sit outside and watch nature and farm activities. A walking trail takes you to a sandstone cave and viewpoints over the farm and surroundings where you are really close to nature and can capture incredible moments. The sunset over the farm ponds is also something to behold! For the bird lovers it is a paradise for sure. The people here are all very friendly, hospitable and helpful.
One might consider moving the check-in time from 15:00 to 12:00 because 3 hours is already the end of the day and one pays for a day of which one does not get much.
We had a great time, the children wanted to know if we could stay forever. Accommodation is perfect and the host family very friendly. The children adopted the 2 puppies and played outside for hours - very safe, and for us drought-stricken Capetians, the garden sprinklers for the children were a highlight! We just want to book again for next year. The farm is beautiful and next time we will want to stay longer and explore the hiking trail and farm.

If travelling from Cape Town the West Coast has a lot less traffic compared to the popular garden route. The accommodation is fully kitted out with utensils, bedding, towels, cooking/braai equipment. Clean and tidy. Great for off-road motorbiking (somewhat sandy). Beautiful area for scenic drives. Great customer service by the owners, and they really make you feel welcome.
Thank you to Ferdi and his people for their hospitality. Very nice people. We enjoyed the rest on the farm. The accommodation is equipped right. The decor is beautiful. Clean and neat. It was pristine inside and outside. We lay on the green grass outside and braaied, there was an old kitchen table where we sat and chatted and played board games. We are definitely going back.
What a surprise for the price. Everything clean and neat and tidy. Linen and crockery of the highest quality and nothing missing. Nice to cook here, because it's like your own kitchen! The owners are friendly and make an effort to make you feel welcome and certainly spare no effort. No one can complain here - if you get cold there is wood to make a fire!
Anyone who wants to get away from the city's noise can relax at Marthinusrust. It is dead quiet and peaceful there in nature. The house is artistically decorated, clean and everything you could need is there.
The tranquil surroundings of Marthinusrust make it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our friendly host went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable, from tips on bass fishing to a tour of the farms. The accommodation was very comfortable and the unit had everything we could possibly need. The variety of quad trails cater to riders of all skill levels.
We were very happy with the value for money this facility offers. Easily visited Clan William and Lamberts Bay and not far from the National Road.
Situated in a valley the accommodation offers beautiful mountain views on two sides. Superbly equipped, recently renovated and spotlessly clean accommodation, super friendly hosts and great value for money. All you need to take with you is your food. Everything else from salt and pepper to tea towels was provided. We took our quad bikes along and Ferdi was very happy to take us around all the trails on the farm. One of the trails is very technical. We'll definitely go back again.
The accommodation was fantastic. The peace with the farm sounds was a blessing for the soul. We had such a good time. The house is neat and well looked after with everything you need. We can recommend Marthinusrust anytime. Thank you for your hospitality!
