The lodge is very neat, but the idea of having to share a bar fridge with the other rooms doesn't work for me. I have to walk to the dining hall if I want to drink cold water at night. No microwave or any utensils in rooms. Only kettle with 2 coffee cups. Overnight it will work, but not for several days. Will not stay there again and recommend to anyone if the person stays longer than one night.
It was very nice, everything was more than we expected. Reception very good and the room very nice and furnished.
Only been here for 1 night but lovely location with large garden, sunbeds, fridge for own use and 1 on the basis of trust you can pack drinks here and write them down, lovely. We had 3 rooms that were quite different from each other, but all of them were perfectly clean and well-kept. Can absolutely recommend. Breakfast also delicious.
We were received very kindly by the receptionist and the owner, Marion, came to introduce herself to us. The rooms are very nicely furnished and everything was neat and clean. The bedding is of very good quality and there were extra blankets if needed. The breakfast was also good and sufficient. There was only a problem with the TV which froze on the channels so we could not watch TV. We reported this the morning of our departure. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Swellendam.

Mario is such a wonderful hostess! Made us feel so cosy and welcome. The breakfast was delicious with a range to choose from. We highly recommend Marula Lodge Guesthouse and will definitely be back there when we go to Swellendam again.

It's a cozy accommodation for a peaceful getaway. It's a shame the rooms are all directly next to each other - so the only privacy is in the single room. Given the beautiful and well-maintained relaxation area, the B&B could really be the ideal hideaway.
The bedding and towels could use some attention. An air conditioner in the rooms in the summer would be ideal.

We had a really good time, although we were dissapointed that there were no TV's in the rooms. However, the cleanliness, friendly hosts, beautiful environment and perfect location made up 100% for that. This is a fantastic place, and we will recommend it to everybody! Regards. Hugh & Jeanette Benn.
We spent one night in Swellendam. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.nOur room was by the pool and we had a peaceful night's rest. Flip and Marion were perfect hosts who informed us of the local sights and restaurants and recommended the Museum which we visited and enjoyed. We had a very good breakfast and we left there feeling really happy that we had chosen such a delightful Guest House.nThank you to Flip for suggesting the Bredarsdorp drive - it was superb and we even visited Cape Agulhas.
