130 guests' feedbackRelaxed, and thank you. Unfortunately, the little shop did not have lots of supplies.
Yes, thank you, it was nice.
Friendly staff, clean facilities. Beautiful surroundings.
We stayed overnight on the way to the Island, one of the few spots that allow you to stay only 1 night. Very neat and friendly.
We had a very nice stay. We slept well. Everything was pretty clean. I don't like to eat at the restaurant. Nice big portions at a price that suits anyone's wallet. The limp chips are a must.
The Marula Oase was everything they said. The resort is quiet and well looked after. Will definitely visit again.
Was my birthday weekend. Good weather, friendly reception. Cute shop with what you might have forgotten. Delicious milk tart for sale. Good facilities.
Very nice and people who live there are very friendly.
Very nice, down to earth. Needs a little TLC.
Peaceful surroundings and a great time. Unit comfortably equipped.
I found all staff members to be very friendly, kind and enjoying what they do.
We had a great time camping despite the weather. There was still plenty for the kids to do. The ablution facilities were clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. Thank you very much.
The goats came to say good morning and the birds woke up with a song in their hearts. It was peaceful and relaxing. See you again.
Comfortable, great amenities, warm pool and games room. Super stay for families for a few days retreat.
We stayed in the "berghuis". It was fine except for the single beds. The mattresses on the beds need to be replaced as the springs are hurting you when you lie on them. The water is not for drinking, so take your own water as there are black pieces coming out of the tap. The rest of the facilities are fine. We enjoyed the warm swimming pool. The putt putt course really needs some care; most holes don't have grass and are only cement. It was covered with leaves when we played. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. All the people are friendly.
We had fun, my wife and I. Everything was perfect and secure.
Resort is very neat, but the log cabin accommodation we stayed in was neglected. The double bed mattress can be replaced. The aircon didn't work either and it made the house unlivable because of the heat. The fence is very big, monkeys can get through it, so couldn't even keep doors or windows open.
We only spent two nights at Marula Oase. On arrival, everything looked neat and in order; however, we noticed the place was not well maintained. We acknowledge that the unit is just for 2 people; however, there are only 2 cups, 2 plates, 2 forks, and 2 teaspoons. So you have to wash dishes after every use; otherwise, there are no plates for the next meal. The mattress of the bed is stained and has mould. The wall in the living room next to the couch has mould. Small cosmetic problems were also noticeable. The stones and pavement at the braai area are extremely loose and unstable, creating a dangerous environment. The heated pool was dirty. Since we arrived on the Friday, it was not cleaned. The water is blue but milky, and the dirt is very noticeable in the kiddies' splash pool. As my son got in, the moment you step down, the dirt comes swirling up. There was also a 40th birthday party on the Saturday evening; the music was extremely loud. Not something to want to experience on a bushveld weekend away and not fitting to the description of "tranquil getaway at the Waterberg foothills."
The place was clean and tidy. Although they were fully booked, it wasn't overcrowded. We were still able to swim comfortably and enjoy the facilities. The food at the restaurant was tasty and the restaurant and shop were affordable and not excessively expensive at all.
The friendly reception until the end of my short visit was wonderful for my mental state. The tranquility and the extra mile that has been walked for me is really appreciated. Until my next visit.
Marula Oase was lovely, but the road from the highway was not good.
It was an awesome break and really enjoyed it. Place is very clean and tidy. Indoor swimming pool water can make them warmer now in the winter months.
Marula Oase is beautiful with very helpful, friendly people! The entertainment at the pool was great fun for young and old. We really enjoyed it, you will surely see us again!
This is a very nice place! The water slide that is currently under construction will be a big plus! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the person in the restaurant makes the best food!
If possible, a warm outdoor swimming pool would be greatly enjoyed and a super tube please. Thank you very much for a beautiful clean resort!
It was nice and quiet. Went for a walk on the hiking trails and had a great barbecue in the evenings.
We enjoyed our time at Marula Oase and would recommend it. Only disappointment was the indoor hot water pool which was cold which is exactly why we decided on them.
View house on the mountain has a beautiful view over the resort. Private, clean and tidy. Awesome resort where we met new people and had a great time.
The mountain hut is located in a lovely place in the mountain and is ideal for families who want to be close to nature. We would have liked a gas stove as well and I suggest guests are warned in advance that the unit does not have a gas stove.
Had a great time at Marula Oase, weather was very nice and plenty of activities.
It's a very neat resort, but the Marula Oasis definitely needs upgrading. Very old, but neat and clean.
Employees friendly. Permanent residents are extremely helpful and friendly. Chose campsite for heated (lukewarm) pool and 'game room' (not available when we asked) so kids have something to do, but alas. Gas geysers in bathrooms (clean) do not always work (even if there is no load shedding). During load shedding there are also no lights on (only what campers provide themselves).
See stars.
Would go back anytime.
Very nice and clean resort. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Will go to Marula Oasis again.
A fantastic place: plenty for the kids to do, spotless ablution blocks and peace and relaxation for the parents. A lapa to braai under when it rained, a heated pool for tired muscles, pancakes available on Saturday morning- there was nothing lacking and the friendly service from the security guard to the owner! Danie, we will definitely be back - thank you for a great camping experience!
My children were permanently in the pool and enjoyed every second. Everyone is very friendly. We felt very safe. The aunt who baked pancakes every day is awesome! Breakfast every morning was pancakes. Thank you very much for a wonderful weekend. We will definitely come again.
I would recommend any one to rest there. Everything neat and clean.
We enjoyed it very much the only incident we had was in the cold water pool my son cut his toe open badly but other than that it was all very nice.
Just what we needed. Was just way too short, would have liked to stay longer.
We just feel we paid a little too much for the amenities we received. But we really enjoyed it!
We stayed in the mountain house. I really enjoyed the silence and the natural beauty. The little restaurant and farm shop are adequate (the fresh garlic bread and cheese buns were delicious!), and we also enjoyed the hot water pool (large, clean, with changing rooms). The mountain house is a bit cold in the winter (bring a beanie), and we suggest that the place could benefit from a fireplace and solar power. It was lovely to sit on the veranda and have a barbecue, while the zebras walked by.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. While entering boma no. 2 we noticed a leaking toilet. We notified them and it was repaired within a hour. We enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our stay. The picture of this unit is confusing as there is one double bed in the first bedroom, but only a sleeper couch in the 2nd bedroom that was not comfortable for an adult. Restaurant made very nice food, but are overwhelmed if they are full and we waited more than 80 minutes for food. Thank you for allowing our mini dachshund.
Would just like them to remove all old construction debris from the field.
Enjoyed our stay. Braai area at chalet a bit impractical, coal fell out and burnt a family member's shoe and is under a roof. Nice, big, warm fire in winter not really possible, unless you are camping.
Thoroughly enjoyed the hot water pool, although it was a little green, at least not to the extent it put us off. Value for money, and will definitely want to come again.
Very nice place. My wife and I rested well.
The road to the swimming area is very poor. I accept Covid and power outages are a factor.
The wooden house is a comfortable private place. Everything you need. Fenced and has been the perfect place for our yorkie. It's a shame that we were not informed in advance that apart from the swimming pools no other facilities would be available, this made our stay less pleasant.
A fantastic weekend! We really enjoyed it a lot!
It was very peaceful, people are very friendly and the pools are very clean. Zebras walk between the chalets like this.
African visitors - nice man, nice.
We booked a mountain chalet, only to find out it was on the actual mountain, we requested a change of chalet as we had kids and could not drive up and down to get to the swimming pool and playground. So they assisted us to get a new chalet. It was great. Oh also we enjoyed the warm pool.
Wonderful place with wonderful and very friendly management. We really had a great time and rested.
We booked the Berghuis, it is nice and clean.
No warm water. No towels. The bed is old and needs changing. Otherwise it's fine.
Nice holiday atmosphere and entertainment over Christmas time.
Maybe they could check to remove the thorns from the play area.
Suggestion - the Berghuis bathroom could do with a little renovation, especially the bath and sink taps. The shower in the bath is not very good and there is no shower curtain, so a lot of water spills on the floor and the shower shut-off mechanism does not work - otherwise everything was very convenient.
Permanent residents do not respect privacy, many times there were people inside our camp while we were sleeping. You can clearly hear the tarmac and the trucks make a terrible noise. Staff were not friendly and welcoming. The place is more suitable for older people and would not recommend it for younger people.
Quiet and very pleasant for a family.
Well maintained resort.
One can see then that there is very good control. Everything is silver clean and works. There are very good facilities especially for people with small children. They could move freely. Pools were spotless even when it rained. Can really recommend it. Will go back for sure.
Enjoyable pool activities offered for young and old at the pool. Marula Oase will see us again.
The mountain house where we stayed is quiet and peaceful with everything we needed.
Unbelievable hospitality. From everyone. Mostly all staff super considerate. Very clean facilities. I can't even find four things to complain about. If you want to experience African hospitality and culture this is the place to go.
Could use a few more TV channels.
This was a wonderful experience with fun and activities that kept us all entertained.
No store, just take everything together. Bread, soft drinks and ice cream available.
A peaceful atmosphere with enough facilities conveniently located.
Place is clean, with excellent customer service, staff is extremely friendly. Worth spending some time off.
Will definitely re-visit this establishment very soon. My friends enjoyed last weekend.
We were a large group in the Marula House. The visit with family and friends was awesome. I just feel like paying so much money for no hot water, the guests were too scared to take a shower because there was someone shocked in the shower on Friday night. People came out to look at the problem, said it had happened before, apparently fixed it and on Saturday night it happened again. Apart from the big shock, we had a great time.
We enjoyed it. Bathrooms were neat and clean.
Very clean, tidy and safe resort. Friendly staff who make an effort to make guests feel at home and entertain children at swimming pools. For a peaceful break with plenty to do, this is the ideal place for both campers and chalet dwellers.
The accommodation facilities are not up to standard, the Uitkykhuis's third bedroom is very basic and does not have access to the bathrooms, the second bedroom is also very basic, fan does not work properly. Living room fan also faulty. Everything was great and neat. There is a very busy road that goes past the resort so traffic noise, many lorries are heard 24 hours.
Marula is a pleasant place but we stayed there and the key deposit still hasn't been refunded.
The house is very small. There is no air conditioning the unit is very stuffy and we had a bat problem, you can't leave the door open in the evenings, we reported it but nothing was done. The kyknet channel did not work, it was also reported and nothing came of it. We still haven't gotten our deposit back.
Cleaning services and self-catering could improve. The shower head was a problem. Furthermore, friendly staff who could help with necessities.
It was amazing and relaxing, but the bed we had was not comfortable. But overall, it was super.
I went there to rest, my husband's undercover pool was not hot (that was a bit of a disappointment) because us old people choose hot water over cold to me it was awesome because I could do what I just wanted to do quietly , so I would recommend it and if you compare value for money, definitely worth your money and affordable just for a weekend away. Thank you.
We only stayed for one night, but we were welcomed by the staff. I saw the maintenance crew working until late changing globes etc. The caravan park looked great and clean and lots of elderly people camping which looked nice. Our boma room was good and clean and contained everything that we needed for our stay.
Brilliant stay, clean, safe and secure. We really enjoyed it!
This is a fantastic resort that I keep going back to. We were a group of 10 and stayed in a farmhouse type unit. There was plenty of space, the hot pool is lovely and beautifully clean and the restaurant is of course also a plus with delicious food. From the management to the cleaners to security are friendly and do anything to make your stay memorable. I recommend Marula Oase as far as I go.
There is no doubt that we will be camping at Marula Oase again. The natural beauty is a feast for the eyes, the mountains in the background, the birdsong, the peace and quiet contributed to a wonderful holiday that we will not soon forget. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and cleanliness of the ablution facilities, also with the paraplegic facilities which we immediately told our friends with a disabled daughter. Pet friendliness made me not miss my own 6 dogs who had to stay at home too much.
Had a lovely stay at Marula Oase. We will definitely visit again!
Nice place to wind down. Quiet and nobody to disturb you. Value for money.
The stay at Marula Oase was excellent. Very quiet and relaxing.
Marula Oase is neat and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. We stayed in the berghuis and really enjoyed it. We will go there again.
Was kindly welcomed and enjoyed the whole weekend. It was peaceful and really enjoyed the swim. The takeaway and bar have a nice atmosphere and their prices are also very good. Would recommend that the store keeps a few extra things like cleaning supplies or bathroom supplies.
It was very nice being there.
Will go back again anytime. Hot pool could be a bit warmer, but it was still nice. Stay was great and we enjoyed it a lot.
Everything is very neat and beautiful! Would definitely recommend everyone to go there. Cleanest pools and grounds!
Lekker onderdak-swembad.
Marula Oase is a fantastic place to stay provided you read the fine print. Don't be blinded by the word restaurant and takeaway. There is no indication of times so if you come from far away and you rely on that you are shooting yourself in the foot. So just pack your coffee and everything you'll need for your visit, even if it's just your overnight stop. Would I visit them again, yes but you'd better know to allow for what they don't say. Furthermore, it is now 10 days later and our break deposit has not yet been refunded which was supposed to happen in 7 days.
We had a great stay, but would have preferred the hot pool to be a bit warmer and the playground was neglected, so much so that our children could not play safely on most of the equipment.
Everything was clean and tidy. Would highly recommend the place, safe and lots of activities for kids during Easter weekend.
Will definitely visit the resort again. The mountain hut was neat and very comfortable. Staff friendly and kind. Teenage boys enjoyed it. Would recommend the store sells more stock and that the indoor pool is open a little later.
There were no towels, dish towels or washing up liquid provided. Sorry for you if you didn't bring! The pool was nice though, but overall just okay.
Wow! Clean, excellent service, enjoyable activities, friendliness!
Marula Oase advertises itself as a resort with a heated indoor hot water pool. That was one of the reasons why we booked there. The pool was not warm at all, not even lukewarm. I don't think it should be advertised as a heated hot pool. A restaurant with a "spectacular" view is advertised. There is a sports bar that offers takeaway, but no additional restaurant with a "spectacular" view. A trampoline is also advertised. The trampoline at this point is just a hole in the ground and a danger to small children. We stayed in the Elite Log Cabin. The unit was neat, clean, comfortable and had almost everything we needed. It was very cold though and there were no heaters in the unit, just air conditioning which didn't really heat up. The supertube lies in pieces on one side on the grass elsewhere on the grounds. The resort also seems to have a lot of people who stay there permanently. It does not give it a special holiday feeling. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it and we won't be going back.
Quiet visit, hot water pool. Feel free to warm it up, water is moderate.
Music played at pool area was loud and annoying, could hear it miles away, some of us want peace and quiet, not forced to listen to loud annoying music all day.
We enjoyed the clean houses. Very peaceful, lovely family time.
It's so nice to get to a campsite with little children and there is so much for them to do. We enjoyed it so much. Our fellow campers were so friendly and didn't complain about my 2-year-old daughter who was up from half past six in the morning laughing and chatting. It was definitely one of the best weekends for us as a family. Everything was nice and clean. We'll definitely camp here again.
The resort is exactly what I had in mind for a quiet, peaceful getaway to recharge my batteries. It's very neat, well organized and well equipped. The price for accommodation is also very affordable. The only negative comment I can give (but then I have to add that it didn't affect my holiday at all) is that all the shops were closed during my stay. The 3 palms lapa's little shop was open, but the fast food (which I would have preferred because I was alone on holiday and didn't necessarily want to cook) was very expensive. It would also be nice if the roads could be filled in a bit/stones removed, as my (new) car's tires were damaged. Gravel pebbles would be more acceptable for a regular sedan car. I would definitely do it again, and also recommend it.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. It was the first time, but certainly not the last.
Great night's rest, fantastic heated swimming pool.
We had a nice camping trip with an electrical plug and a water tap. The camp stand was spacious and paved with bricks. So no dust. We can recommend the campsite because it is also close to the swim facilities.
It's a good getaway for a weekend or long weekend. Staff were willing and friendly. The pools, gardens toilets and other facility's were hygienically in order.
Quiet, no hiking trails.
It was a lovely, quiet place to rest and relax.
Was surprised with the place. Very calm with everything we needed and more. Definitely worth the money.
Swimming pools were excellent and always clean. Cabannes didn't have enough space for socialising. Will definitely stay there again.
Everything was very clean and the facilities are fantastic. The breakfast Sunday morning was delicious and tasty, despite the fact that we had to wait a while. We relaxed and everything was so beautifully clean, even the braai area. There were a few things that needed repairing, like the taps that have to be tightened again and the aircon in the second bedrooom of Uitsighuis dripped water on the one bed during the night. My mother's bed (she's 82 and we were celebrating her birthday) got sopping wet. Just 2 of the 3 stove rings worked, but that also didn't bother us too much. Beautiful place, friendly people and I highly recommend it. I will definitely return.
Had a nice stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Very impressed with the changes and upgrades they made to Marula since we've been there 3 years ago. Just want to recommend that they put clear photos on the web of all the housing (specifically room layout). We stayed in Uitsig house and wasn't warned beforehand that the third room was under the house and completely apart. There were also no bathroom facilities for this room. Our 2 teenage daughters had to walk in the dark and use the house's bathrooms. Very impractical. Otherwise I will definitely recommend Marula Oase.
Kindly upgrade channels on DStv like SABC channels not SABC2 only, the rest its's fine.
