Really great. Our group hired four huisies. The hot tub is so worth the effort of warming it up - an absolute must in winter! Clean, well-provisioned but smaller houses are a wee bit chilly. The main house got the afternoon sun and was lovely. Had a great time and will be back.
Peaceful and quiet, just what we were looking for.
Very nice stay in a cute, neat little house in the Karoo with a beautiful view of the Matroosberge with snow on it (during winter). Nice close to Aquila Private Game Reserve, if you want to go wildlife watching, and there are nice roadside stalls on the way from Cape Town. Not too far from Cape Town. It was an ideal weekend getaway for us. Thank you very much.

So a very quiet peaceful place. Teenagers don't enjoy it so much. There is not much to do. You can get on your bike and ride far.

No signal, no TV, lets you really connect with your people and nature again. Cottages are modern and planned with so much taste. The owners are so hospitable and friendly. We had a lovely stay and will definitely go back again. Everything was great!
A lot of walking, nice sitting by the fireplace inside and outside at the big circular barbecue with the most beautiful stars. Would definitely go again and also want to use the private camp facilities with a beautiful waterfall and hot tub.

Peacefull and clean.
I was under the impression that the 2nd bedroom was indoors, but was to discover that it is a tiny room at the back of the house where you can hardly breathe. There is a hole in the door with "mash" on it that probably serves as a ventilator. There are no toilet facilities for the people sleeping there, which means they have to use the field at night if there is an emergency. We had to sleep with an open door, as the key in the security gate was broken by the guests who were there before us, while the door did not have a lock on it. So I had to lie awake all night, while my children slept in the car, which at least they could lock! There are braai facilities, but no wood available, while you are not informed about it in advance. A microwave in the kitchen would also be welcome to at least heat up food. On arrival at the swimming pool, we had to ask for it to be cleaned as it was infested with insects and frogs, with plants hanging down into the pool, while it is advertised as a sparkling blue pool. The heated pool is limited to a certain cottage and must be advertised as such, and since the place is open and in the mountain, the area around the cottages can be properly cleaned. The hammock is also hidden behind a tree in the grass. Cleanliness is my priority and I feel that when you entertain guests, you go the extra mile. That is why we always leave the places we visit as we received them. We only slept 1 night and left just after 7 the next morning to the comfort and safety of our home.
We enjoyed a beautiful getaway at Matroosbergstasie Karoohuisies and were hosted by such lovely hosts. They were so helpful and made us feel very comfortable from the time we arrived. We loved their attention to detail and the unexpected treats. This is a perfect spot to just unwind and get away from it all. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely break at Matroosbergstasie cottages. Would really recommend them. The houses are very neat and clean. The people are friendly and hospitable. The nature, beautiful stars and tranquility help one to relax. You can walk around the farm, barbecue and swim. Signal can be found within walking distance if needed. We would love to visit again.

Estiaan, Elzanne and Andrea welcomed us with friendly smiles, freshly baked bread and newborn puppies! We were even invited to watch the rugby final (URC) on their private cinema's big screen - the only screen time we entertained for our visit. Beautiful views of the snow over the Matroosberg made for a great backdrop around the braai (complimentary dry wood included!). It was below freezing often, and we've been warned that in the summer months temperatures can soar to 45°C but we'll be back! P. S. Make sure to bring your own bottled water!
