Beautiful, old house with a large veranda overlooking the old square. Owner is a historian with worldwide experience. Will definitely visit again.
We had a very comfortable stay over for the night. It was ideal to stop over there. I was impressed with the friendliness and homeliness of the guesthouse owner.
The power was out and there was no water when we got there. The guest house does not have the necessary provision for such a situation, meaning no generator or water tank. Host was very friendly and helpful under the circumstances. I was not met financially despite the inconvenience we were exposed to.
Shower is not working. No bedside cupboard to have water and cell phones handy. No WiFi, limited DStv and channels need to be changed in lounge. Premises is not very clean. Lime-scaled kettle in bedroom with no alternative. Parking is a very tight squeeze. Not value for money.
The host was welcoming, friendly and communicated with us throughout the stay.

Had a great stop over. I didn't realise how beautiful and rich in history Steynsburg was till i sat down to watch the sunset with a cold beer in hand and a very knowledgeable and entertaining host. Well worth the stay. The breakfast was outstanding and sleeping quarters big and very comfortable. Thanks again!
Would definitely recommend the accommodation at Mautanrho. It is friendly and comfortable. The stoep kuier in the small town is perfect for the start of the holiday.
