After the whole of Kimberley's water was gone from our stay at the weekend, the owner went out of his way to accommodate us. Would definitely recommend the guest house and visit again.
There were small things that needed attention and then the big disappointment was the power supply that went off during the night due to not enough time on the prepaid meter.
The guests in the room next door made noise and chatted all night. I tried calling the guest house but no one answered. Guests only calmed down after 4. I reported it to owner. So we went to bed tired and got up tired again with no rest.
Charl was very helpful and friendly to make us feel at home after a long day in the car. Very neat accommodation and a nice swimming pool to cool off in. Thank you very much for being able to accommodate us at short notice!

There is nothing like getting into a bed with fresh and clean linen after a day in the hot car from a Cape Town holiday. Carl your place is definitely a treat, will recommend it to anybody. Very professional and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely make use of it again with our next Cape Town holiday.
The reception was warm, our stay was lovely and our needs where taken care of, it's indeed a lovely place to stay at. Was with my 10 month old baby and we didn't have any problems with him being around.
The guest house is well located, parking was a bit of a problem as the gate leading to the room where we were staying was not working, so we couldn't park in front of our unit. It was lovely having a pool. There were four of us, but there were only 3 chairs in the unit, so someone had to sit on the bed when we were eating. The kitchen area is very small and although advertised as self-catering, it is not really equipped for more than just heating up pre-cooked meals. It would have been nice to have a chair and table set outside to eat at. Staff were friendly.

On arrival the one pillow was without a pillowcase. The excuse was that they were struggling to dry the laundry in the rainy weather. (How about a tumble drier). There were no teaspoons and we had to use knives to stir. There was only rooibos tea available, which we don't drink. When you get out at the big gate to unlock it (in the rain), you step in mud.
We stay in guesthouses quite often and this was the first time that we were greeted by an information brochure with all of the rules of what is not allowed, in the room. There was no information about Kimberley or recommendations about attractions or any other information. The room and bathroom wasn't what we expected, with dirty marks on the bedding and a bathroom that needs attention. Even though a breakfast option is advertised, it was never offered to us.
Parking a problem, couldn't get out, had to call management to find other guest. No basin and no stove, therefore not recommended for more than one night stay.

Arrived very late, well received and settled in nicely. Although the whole City had no water for the weekend, arrangements were made for us to bath and be ready for our business. I would recommend to anyone looking for a chilled and homely stay. You can do anything from there.
We spent one night at Mckala's. The rooms were neat, clean and equipped as expected. Service was friendly. The parking could possibly be a problem if the guest house were very full, but it is locked and secure. The breakfast was top notch! You won't want to stop at WIMPY after this plate of food! Thank you McKala, we had a great stay.

Reception is very friendly and helpful. Well located. Good value for money. The one bedside lamp did not work. Kitchen is not sufficiently equipped for self-catering and there was no bath mat. After the first day, our clean, white towels were taken away and not put back.
Nice place, with friendly staff. The room is comfortable, with coffee and tea facilites and a small fridge. Garden with small swimming pool. WiFi only in the garden.
For a business traveler or a family passing through Kimberley, Mc Kala Guest House is a good choice. The owners went out of their way to help us at short notice and after hours, and were also very helpful with sightseeing. Good overnight accommodation.
