The roof of the unit only leaks terribly in 2 places and we had to use the towels for it because the water from the cupboard ran down to the floor.
They can treat the place (fumigate) because there were cockroaches and spiders in the room and in the bed. The lighting is poor and an additional light at the 'kitchenette' would help, it is also unsafe to work in such poor light.
Must definitely stay 2-3 days. Nice farm, neat and clean, lots to do.

We loved the hiking trails, the different farm animals and the intelligent kittens and dogs, so beautiful, the place is perfect to do something fun with friends in the summer, for sure a place I will come back to.

Lovely overnight away from city buzz - the little koppie gives a fabulous 360 view over the area. The configuration was a bit unconventional, but nevertheless functional and neat, clean and tidy. We will definitely overnight here again!
We booked as an overnight stop on the way home. Lovely place and located close to town. Very tidy with everything you need. This was our second time here and always enjoy it.
For the price we paid and based on the photos provided, I expected more from the unit. It reminded me a bit of a hostel, but was still neat and adequate for an overnight stay. However, I will not stay more than 1 night. There are pony rides available for the children, but are run separately from the guest house and were therefore difficult to arrange. I would definitely recommend it, the lady who offers it is very nice with the kids.
We stayed over in Kimberley for a few days for a sports event. The beautifully maintained surroundings were delightful. We will definitely stay there again. The house was perfect and clean with fresh bedding.
The owners can work on the zinc and pipes in the large area in front of residential units no.1. It's rusty and doesn't look good and doesn't make a good first impression. It can also be thought of setting up an additional braai area in the courtyard. We were only one braai place for 4 living units if all are occupied it might create a problem.
Very quiet on the farm.
Room 1 is very neat, clean and meets all necessary requirements. Unfortunately there was no plug for the sink, and the Vodacom cell phone reception is also very erratic and unavailable most of the time. We also had to make a specific request to the cleaner for the WiFi code. If you are looking for quiet and seclusion, I would not recommend this room, as the pool noise may be disturbing. We were also very surprised that one of the children who wanted to swim, unasked and without knocking, rushed into the unit to possibly change clothes. It was not very appropriate, and could have led to a possible embarrassment. However, our biggest problem was when we arrived and found that the unit was not clean and ready for us. We arrived at 1:50pm, and the cleaner explained that she would need about another 45 to 60 minutes to finish. The reasons given for the delay between the cleaner and the hostess also did not agree, and by the nature of the matter we were not very pleased with the situation, as we were tired after a long day on the road. We were finally able to take over the unit and relax only at 14:40.

Our third overnight stay as a family. Never had any problems. The beds are comfortable, air conditioning in the summer is a lifesaver and the large bath towels are a lovely luxury.

We have stayed at Mein Heim before. It is gratifying to see that the high standard is maintained. The rooms are very clean and tidy and you can really catch your breath after a long drive. There are electric blankets on the beds for the cold nights and air cooling if it gets too hot. It is quiet and the unit is spacious enough for the amount of people. Had a great stay and would highly recommend it.
We had a very positive experience at Mein Heim Estate. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful place with nice, green grass and beautiful trees where the kids could play. We stopped here on our way back from the Cape to show the children Kimberley's Great Hole. Mein Heim's accommodation is basic, but clean and comfortable. There are cute braai facilities and the units are well equipped with everything needed to eat there. Another guest house on our way treated us to a bottle of Peaceful Sleep in the room ─ I can recommend it for Mein Heim as well. Thank you very much for the nice stay.

Directions to the place are not up to standard, we drove an extra 300 km. Who gives directions from Bloemfontein Airport? We do not know the names of the local airports.

Nice comfortable rooms with a large kitchen where you can sit around a table. There is a braai room available if you feel like standing outside and braai. Close to the town if you want to go and get a take-away meal. Very friendly people arranged arranged another night when we asked if we could stay an extra day.

We then held our meeting on the veranda of Mein Heim, with projector, powerpoint and all! Right next to the beautiful lawn with horses trotting by. The staff were very helpful, and we really enjoyed our experience. Thanks for your help, Christine! I just have to mention that the internet signal (for data) was not very strong.

It was so nice on the beautiful farm - the kids could play to their hearts' content, and we could relax after the long drive. The units are clean and neat with everything you need. Thanks for the hospitality and good service.
10 am it was 40 degrees in Kimberley. We had our 3 year old and 20 month old boys with us. We arranged beforehand to park our trailer at the farm. When we arrived we were informed that our room was ready and we could unpack (check in time is actually 14:00). After a short outing to town we were able to swim, braai and relax. The staff are friendly. The owner even helped us out with Blitz which I forgot to buy. There are also trampolines, horses and dogs to keep the children occupied. Die farm makes you forget that you are actually en route somewhere and it's far enough outside town to provide a sense of peace and safety. They also provide a baby bath in case you need one. This was our second visit (of our total of 3 visits) and the rooms and farm are well furnished and always clean, neat and well maintained. We absolutely love the farm and would probably never make use of any other accommodation in Kimberley!

Mein Heim had been unexpectedly luxurious, and the reception and staff were incredibly friendly. It's the perfect overnight stop, but it will only be as convenient as a destination. The children thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the horses and ponies, and the swimming pool was a relief after the long journey, and the heat of the day. They were the most comfortable beds we had on vacation, and we were refreshed and ready for the rest of the trip. Thank you very much, it was delicious.

We arrive at Mein Heim after reception had already closed. We notified the hostess beforehand and it was no problem to her. Were warmly welcomed and rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The farm atmosphere was wonderful and my children just loved the horses.
A lovely overnight stop away from the noise of the city but still close enough for supplies etc. Beautiful horses to see and nice walking trails. Then also a swimming pool to cool off! Just a small thing... (splitting hair) The trash can in the bathroom was not cleaned. The unit could do with some hooks in the rooms for towels etc.

Apart from being advertised as being wheelchair friendly, it was a nice visit. We were specifically looking for a place that was disabled friendly because I was taking my child for medical services nearby. After the first struggle to get my child up the stairs to her room, I asked that they move one bed to the living room for comfort, even if it meant she couldn't sleep with her nanny and one of us had to watch with her through the night. However, the staff at Mein Heim were very helpful in helping my daughter get in and out.

We left Lambertsbaai early in the morning. Christine received us kindly, after 10 hours on the road, and immediately took us to our chalet. The chalet was spotless and cool. The North Cape's sunset and sunrise are unique in their scope. We will definitely stay at Mein Heim again if it is on our route.

Mein Heim Estate is definitely to be recommended because it has everything that a single person to a large family needs, because it is spacious, tasteful, neat, clean and very beautiful and the reception was good. We could swim and hang out and soon the long drive was forgotten and I had to struggle to get my teenagers to drive on. They just wanted to stay forever. Definitely the place to stay overnight and yourself for a nice long weekend getaway.
We traveled from the Lowveld to the Karoo. We stayed over because we have a 5 year old boy and a 16 month old girl and the accommodation was perfect for us. The children played well. They loved looking at the horses. The place was so nice to sleep in. There was a baby bath where I could bathe sister so we didn't struggle with anything. Thank you Mein Heim, you just made our trip easier.

Mein Heim Estate was a convenient, reasonable stop for us near Kimberley on our route between Cape Town and Pretoria. Located on a horse farm just outside the village. We found it easy, but GPS coordinates would make it much easier. Comfortably furnished with everything we needed.
Accommodation was good value for money. Beautiful farm atmosphere, very peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped for all our needs. Had some trouble finding the place in the dark, and regret that we could not make use of all the beautiful facilities. Next time we visit longer.

Overall this was a disappointing stop-over. It was in a very peaceful setting, but the only other guests were booked into the adjacent room and were outside our room between 12-2 am. So much didn't work properly: hot water in the kitchen, bed-side lamps, plug points, extension cord was a trip hazard... etc.
Accommodation was clean and tidy, necessary is there. Horses very beautiful. Peacocks also nice, but early in the morning on the roof, so you only wake up after 05:00 in the mornings.
The self-catering unit itself was clean and tidy, the hangout outside was very very dirty. There was no erasure and one could see that the dust had been lying there for some time. The braai facilities were unusable because they were so dirty. We preferred to use our own gas grill. The estate with its horses and location is very beautiful. There was no contact with the hostess or gentleman, and the keys were given to us by the workers, after that we didn't see anyone again.

Just a pity that there is only one bathroom, but the bathroom is also very nice and very spacious. Already thinking of excuses to visit Mein Heim again. Out of Kimberly, but close enough to travel there and visit the sights...
Love the outdoors, so really enjoyed it. The staff could only be more helpful by showing guests where the games room and walking trail are. The time was so short, so would like to show the children.

The hospitality was pleasant. The shower and hot water in the bath do not work when moving in. Many bugs/beetles made the stay miserable.
I believe, because this a horse farm, this has created a bit of a fly problem ... The room was very spacious and we had the use of the pool area but unfortunately the pool was green. This is a self catering unit, and the attention to the detail of clean crockery needed attention.
