36 guests' feedbackWas our second visit to Blommehuis and as with the first we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staying on a working farm is always special to us. Blommehuis, for us, is ideally situated to explore Namaqualand. Guests have access to Namaqua National Park through a gate which borders on Grootvalleij, so no need to go the long way round. Also, Kamieskroon and Springbok are within easy reach, and if you are adventurous and have a suitable vehicle, so is Hondeklipbaai. Our visits have always coincided with the flower season.

The accommodation was top notch. When you walk out the door, you find yourself among the most beautiful wildflowers.
Best place ever for a full digital detox. There is no electricity save for solar lighting and a phone charging station. Perfect for switching off from the outside world to enjoy the silence, the scenery and the amazing stars at night. What an absolute gem of a destination! The host was kind and funny, very eager to help and advise on walks to take to see the flowers. Best place to visit if you want to experience Namaqualand in its full glory. Cannot wait to go again.
Our second year in Blommehuisie (this time for five days). Simple, but well-equipped cottage, even if there is no mobile phone reception (read - social media detox!). The duvet and the bed are lovely - the colder evenings can come again. The braai area is placed so that it does not catch the winds, but still with lovely views. So many types of flowers! And then the engaging conversations and stories of our hostess. We really had a great time.
Extremely neat and clean with everything you need for peace and quiet in your own flower paradise.
Small, but nice! Everything we needed. Had a great sleep in front of the fire. Easy access to Namakwa National Park and Tortoise. Friendly reception and service with delicious barbecue packages for sale.
The idea of your own little cottage - upgraded "shepherd's cottage" among the flowers - is something many people can only dream of. Here you have something that meets that and much more. Add to that the personal input of the owner and it's a very special experience! Wow, that was truly delicious - so on our own.

Neat little house in the field. Ideal for the nature lover with all the basic necessities. Quiet in nature with a beautiful view of the farm and bright stars at night.
The house was tasteful and well appointed. I cannot comment for any improvements. The advantage is that you can drive around everywhere on their farm and enjoy the surroundings. Very good environment for flower viewing and access to the park is also convenient. If you like silence, natural beauty and a clear starry sky, this is the place for you. I will go back for sure. It was very special.
We were warmly welcomed and spent the evening quietly. The setting is beautiful in the flowering time, and our expectations were exceeded.
Although very small, the Blommehuisie offers delightful accommodation, one room with a double bed, table and chairs, kitchen facilities and braai area (fireplace). Shower and toilet separate. Reception was very friendly and Blommehuisie was clean and good quality towels provided. Freedom to walk in the veld or to drive around the farm is an added bonus. Enjoy nature at its best. You will receive your permit for Gifberg Nature Reserve and braai wood upon arrival. Can recommend Grootvleij for those who are not looking for frills.
Lovely farmhouse, 1 km from main house. Nice place to stay with everything you need. Could ride around and see flowers and birds. Two days were not enough.
This is an experience for those who have the need to completely break away from the city's noise. Simplicity and comfort for those who are not looking for luxury, but want coziness. We arrived as strangers but left with new friends.
It was good for us, we were received kindly, everything was clean and comfortable.
Die Kliphuisie has all the modern comforts even though very old items were in use as well dating out of a forgotten farming era. It was delightful. (The modern electric blanket was very much appreciated on our second night).
We were also located here for two years. Then with many many flowers. Now no flowers but still very nicely situated and so peaceful! We enjoyed and will come back if we can.
To be able to stay in Blommehuisie for a week was a wonderful experience. What wonderful memories from my younger day son my grandfather's farm was brought to the fore. The hospitality and helpfulness from Esmi and Philip made it so much more special. Thank your for everything! Especially jump starting our vehicle on the last day when it decided it wasn't leaving Namaqualand!
Hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to help and advise us. Their farm was ablaze with the same flowers that we saw at Namaqualand Park. The setting of the Blommehuisie is stunning. It looks out onto the mountains and is surrounded by flowers. It is a highly recommended for those who want to escape into remote places. It is a one km from the farm and you "own" the landscape around you. A few small additions would make it more comfortable; a bedroom shelf with hanging space and an awning.
Excellent location in the middle of a farm full of flowers. It is a very small but romantic place to stay for people who want to relax far from the city. We really enjoyed it.
It was simple but we knew that we had a wonderful stay here with an unprecedented and unique view of the blooming flower fields. The owner Emy was very nice and helpful thank you Emy, we forgot to write in the guest book but we found it fantastic.

We were warmly welcomed by Esmi on their beautiful farm. In the distance we could see the white house standing high up in the hill. Picturesque with just the birds and the fields we looked down on. Everywhere on the farm the wildflowers were blooming. The house was very clean and tidy with all the necessary facilities. We would like to drag Blommehuisie and the cup back home.
The cost of R500 per night is far from worth the money I expected. The silence is a bonus.

A beautiful farm and cottage. The silence and tranquility around you wipes away the stress and noise of the city. We were able to rest, relax and catch up on the books that you never get a chance to. Nice people and a beautiful view make this a great place to visit.
The place is beautiful and you can feel the love. We are just looking for more storage space or shelves for the dishes and food. The chimney of the fireplace just needs to draw a little longer for more, because smoke tends to move into the house.
In the beautiful, most beautiful house, it is wonderful to be woken up by the goats in the morning. The walks through the fields and sheep camps were special, and we took the most beautiful pictures. The crackling fire in the fireplace at night, the friendly owners, and the peaceful, safe environment made the time really pleasant. In short: we can really recommend Melkboomhoek Blommehuisie.
