The cottage is situated in the middle of the reserve, high up on the hills and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan living area. The main bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed while the second room has 2 three-quarter beds and a double sleeper couch. Each bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. The lounge has comfortable seating as well as a TV with the full DStv bouquet of channels. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the cottage and it also features braai facilities and a built-in fireplace.
Firewood, charcoal, blitz, ice and basic items like coffee, tea, sugar, 500 ml milk, rusks, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper are provided. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a complimentary Melozhori Sparkling Grape Juice and freshly baked bread.
One game drive is included per 2-night stay. The reserve is home to over 18 species of game, and most of the Cape's unique indigenous fauna and flora.

10 guests' feedbackLoved our time at Melozhori. We had a really relaxing time out in nature and well isolated from the outside world! The cottage has been thoughtfully set up and really well stocked with all the essentials plus some bonus gifts on arrival. One small complaint would be to please do something about the large family of bats living in the roof above the main bedroom; they made quite a racket!
The silence was good for the soul and the 360 degree scenery was a great treat. We were warmly received, with Marzanne available for any questions. Sam was an amazing guide who made the game drive so interesting! Afternoon walk on the farm was lovely. The cottage was very well equipped - we lacked nothing. The hot tub was a nice treat and the pizza oven just made the experience even more fun. Even the flies couldn't put a big enough damper on the visit!
March appears to be a bad fly season. This, together with the excessive requirement for insecticide, is not good combination. Also, had an issue with contradictory information regarding the availability of horse riding as an additional activity.
It was fantastic to be completely in nature for a few days. Just silence and beautiful views. We especially enjoyed going for a walk with our dog. Also to sit on the porch and watch the wild animals that pass by. Marzanne took us on a great game drive. Everything contributed to the fact that we will visit Melozhori again anytime.
Here you can just kick off your shoes and relax. The cottage is incredibly clean and tidy and provides all the basic needs for a nice weekend relaxing and visiting around the fire or in front of the fireplace. We were received very kindly by Marzanne upon our arrival and immediately felt at home. The reserve is well located and offers you the privacy of a game reserve but is close enough to Robertson or Bonnievale if you need a shop or want to visit the surrounding wine farms. The game drive is a must for anyone visiting the reserve and a fun interactive way to learn more about the reserve and its different game species. Marzanne, who was also our guide on the game drive, is well informed and speaks with insight and knowledge. Our cute "visitors" every morning on the lawn in front of the cottage also made the visit even more special. We would definitely like to stay at Melozhori again in the future.

We really enjoyed the time at Melozhori. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The fact that we were the only guests is a plus. Very friendly and helpful. The game drives were great.

Great spot to get away and enjoy nature. Accommodations are really good and comfortable and Lientjie and Anne make your stay even more enjoyable with their great service and attitude.
Accommodation in tip top condition and furnished beautifully. We loved the visits of the horses and the goats! Lovely game drive with Jacques and lots of antelope species around, including black or white tailed wildebeest which we had never seen before. Great to be able to take our little dachsie with us! We were there the weekend the Cape Argus was cancelled because of the exceptional wind - which also took one the bedroom doors clean off! It all added to the adventure, almost sleeping outside!
