It is marketed as a student accommodation, and I had my preconceived ideas, but I was blown away. The venue is quiet, clean, and well-stocked, with items required for self-catering. TERRIBLE! The cups was dirty, there was hair in the cups. There was a party on till 4 am, and when I asked for some help or quite no one wanted to help.

My stay was nice.
The "loadshedding" lamp did not stay on long enough (due to 4 hours of interruption), so an alternative they should consider is to also have a flashlight for a room. Give it together with the car gate's "remote", then get it back the same way. The whole area outside was also pitch black, so solar charging outdoor lights are not expensive and would help a lot. But otherwise, definitely MP is place I would recommend. My own room's (no. 13) shower's cold tap was a mission to turn on.
We had a wonderful stay, with the rooms clean and more than we were expecting!
Recommendation: We would have liked to have shelf space in the room and bathroom. There are only shelves in the kitchen. Although the unit is otherwise comfortable, it lacked shelves to put things on. However, our stay was good, staff very friendly.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean, as are the bathroom and kitchen facilities. However, the beds have very warm and heavy winter duvets on them which are way too warm for October's warm weather. If you take it off, it's too cool again. Light cotton blankets would be a better option. The beds also have old-fashioned feather pillows on them that fall flat and are very uncomfortable to sleep on. I'm also just looking for a table or top with a mirror where I can sit to comb hair and put on makeup.

Rooms are well equipped. The air conditioner was wonderful for Potch's heat. We visited Aardklop and the accommodation at Melrose Place Guest Rooms was ideally located, close to venues and festival grounds as well as restaurants and access routes.

I would prefer that there is also a top sheet on the bed. The night was warm and if one wants to move the duvet away, it is bad if there is no top sheet. The curtains do not really darken the room. It makes it quite difficult to sleep when outside light shines in or early morning light illuminates the room.
Everything was clean and tidy and enough space for 2 people. Totally adequate for an overnight stay. I would only suggest allowing for hair blowing and doing glitter with a plug near the mirror. And at least 2 pillows.

We only slept there in the evenings and during the day we were at Aardklop. It's a driving distance from the Aardklop festival grounds, a little further out of town than I thought, but still a nice place to stay the night.
The bedding was very cuddly, the best yet. Small kitchen is a plus, just bring your own dish towel. Very safe, super centrally located from university and astro. Can also put small table and chairs in double room.

We checked in, the door doesn't have a tag on the lock, so it keeps moving back and forth as the wind blows. We came back from our function that evening at 10:00, arrived at the gate in the dead of night due to load shedding, no extra lighting, not safe. No generator or extra battery light, nothing, all dark, very poor! There was what appeared to be a bloodstain on the one duvet, not great. Bathrooms need attention, toilet keeps running after flushing, wall looks half painted.
Water leaks in ceiling, door handle loose, TV plug loose and untidy. Feeding tube sheet's side lamination down.

Room 15 and 16's showers have very weak water pressure! There was also no plug in room 16 to recharge a cell phone. But overall the stay was really very good!
Access to the site is very easy which makes it very convenient to be able to get in and out whenever you want. Room has air conditioning which helps quite a lot in the hot Potch weather.

Shower door does not close completely. Bathroom door's inside handle is loose and screws half turned out. I turned it back with a knife. Using a crate for a bed headboard doesn't work because there are splinters on it. The plug behind the bed is almost unreachable.
The apartment is comfortable and very tidy with enough secure parking. It is located on the outskirts, but not too far from supermarkets.

Comfortable accommodation for a business trip.
We have 40 min. stood outside the gate waiting for someone to open for us after numerous calls.
Although the DSTV did not work the first night, the problem was sorted out the next morning. Unfortunately, the DSTV package did not have any rugby channels available and we had to miss out on the matches that were played that evening. The fact that there wasn't any alternative power source during load shedding was quite frustrating as the WiFi (free) didn't work then either and we couldn't do anything until the power came back on.

The bed-table light was not working / this was changed after I phoned to complain. The light switch is not working. Only one globe out of the 2 in the bedroom is working. There are only 2 hangers in the cupboard of which one is broken. The warm water tap in the shower is making a terrible tattling sound when you open it. During our last stay in March this pipe burst. The multiplug between the two beds were out of order. Very little crockery / if you were to compare the actual goods against your inventory against the door you would note that several items is missing.

Definitely don’t recommend. I called host at 21:30 to ask when other residents had to keep quiet and he informed me 22:00. That clearly does not apply. I was absolutely exhausted and checked out the next day and found a great guest house which was nice and quiet.

Some minor annoyances. Consider the criticism please. in the spirit of what is meant. The shower head was quite limescaled, however I was able to clean it easily and it now works as it should. There was tea and rooibos but no coffee. Probably just a bug that crept in.

It was safe, clean, big enough for two, close to where we wanted to be and quiet. The duvet was deliciously warm. Maybe just a suggestion. That you also put out extra pillows and maybe also a light blanket/sheet in the summer, because the duvet was warm and if you throw it off, it's almost too cold again. In winter it will work well.

Didn't sleep well as we attended many shows at Aardklop. The room was very comfortable and well equipped.
Melrose Place Guest Rooms is good. Only one query as such. I wasn't sure if the rooms should have been serviced daily. Conveniently placed for my needs as I was at the Potchefstroom airfield on a daily basis. Access to the CBD and surrounds is good. Problem with the access gate owing to storms was sorted out quickly.
