We were received very kindly. The unit met most of our needs. No two-panel fabric in unit as shown in photos. No bottles of water. Only one bottle in the fridge. The shower needs a curtain because the window faces the parking area. There is a wooden partition between the window and the parking area, but you can still see through it. A shower curtain in the bathroom is also a good idea - especially in winter. Guests in adjacent units were very noisy until very late. Wall between kitchen area and bed is very dirty. The unit was adequate for a night's stay. Updated photos would be appreciated.
I booked for family room and they give me a different room.
The bed was comfortable, but it was a big annoyance with the entertainment system which constantly has WiFi problems and loses connection. The shower was a huge frustration as it was impossible to get the temperature decent and it got everything wet.
I would like to report that the accommodation is not up to standard at all. The shower was so dirty from months of old soap and mold. The floor was very slippery and the mold was everywhere. Not up to standard at all. The sink spout was full of old hair. There was no hand washing soap and the containers that were there were dirty and full of dust. The kitchen had cobwebs on the wall above the microwave. Unfortunately we had to stay another night and they then gave us another room. Bedding not high standard. Shower spout is clogged. All the rooms' toilets run right through the night and you have to turn off the tap. But then you still hear the toilet water in the next room running. I was truly disappointed. Nothing that the website pictures depict. The host has made it clear they don't live there and has a worker supervising. That's the problem. Far from your good close to your harm. I don't know if the other guests are happy with unsanitary conditions, but for me it is not an option. I have to check in a lot of people from work regularly but would not recommend accommodation.

Good value for money. Menlyn Apartments are close to shopping centers such as Menlyn, the high street and also to good restaurants in Brooklyn such as The Village. The kitchen, rooms and pool met all our needs.

Everything was up to standard, good for a stay-over. I went to the Trevor Noah Show at Time Square and did not want to drive back to JHB so Menlyn Apartments was the perfect place for a stay-over.

The management of the organization firstly struggled to get the two persons who had rented the facility before us out of the room. I had to help and prevent anger. Second, some of the other visitors on the first night were very loud and I had to quiet them down so we could sleep. Otherwise, the stay was very pleasant and well organized.
We were a little surprised that all the beds were in the same room. More pictures of the units might be a good idea. The manager was willing to give us another unit where beds are in separate rooms. It is much appreciated. The unit was very sunny, the bathroom very large and tidy. The unit had everything we needed. The garden is beautiful and the pool crystal clear. Thank you very much for a peaceful and safe stay.
Unfortunately, apart from load shedding, there was also no electricity available from just after our arrival. We understand the national problem of load shedding, but the additional problems of electricity outside load shedding times were not pleasant. If the place is equipped to prevent guests' inconvenience with load shedding, this will be a plus.
The pool was welcome in the warm weather. The bathroom wall by the toilet has water damage which I would suggest needs to be fixed. The shower area has a drain smell. The room was neat and clean. There was no aircon, and the fan did little to help in the heat. Most of the wall plugs in the room didn't work. The liquid hand soap bottle cap by the sink was broken, so we couldn't use it.
The staff were very hospitable. The room was neat.

We just stayed overnight and flew the next day. Good enough for the purpose.

Adjacent room noise was disturbing. Had everything we needed. Bring your own pillows instead. Not sure if you get the room you booked for.
The shower's water is a problem, it is not equipped with necessities for load shedding. Some of the furniture in the unit was broken and this creates a bad image.
Take the place off your list, won't book there again.
We used to stay at Menlyn Apartments on a regular basis, but it steadily deteriorated to the point that it was the last time we stayed there. The toilet seat was completely dismantled and just placed on top of the toilet. The hand soap is mounted on the wall, but the container's pump action is broken. The mattress is done and one gets up with a sore back. The supposed white bedclothes are so full of spots that it's creepy to sleep under them. There is no backup power supply during load shedding. The room's security gate was broken and we could only lock the door. Although there are bedside lamps, there is no wall plug within reach and therefore serves no purpose. We have always recommended this place but will definitely not do so again. Very, very disappointing.
My husband first left the place a couple of messages to ask if they serve breakfast that we can book, got no response. We got there and there were other guests sitting in front of our window and visiting because there is no other place for them and we wanted to sleep because we drove far. And the shower's tiles are not clean so my husband didn't shower at all I had to wash for surgery, there's also no curtain at the shower window and windows look out on the front gate, there's a type of partition, but you can still see through And the room that was advertised in photo that my husband booked is not the room that we got. I would not recommend the place in any way, we are not at all happy with the conditions and cleanliness. They will have to pay attention to the maintenance and service of the place!

All we can suggest is a full length mirror near the bathroom please, it would make a huge difference. It's perfectly located, easy to get to and really just a nice experience.
We were received very friendly by Petunia. Nothing was too much trouble for her - thank you Petunia! Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The room has everything - a little stove, fridge/freezer, kettle etc. The only item we missed was a hairdryer. Even when loadshedding started there was a light in the room that turned on automatically! Will definitely book my next stay there again.

We were bothered at the gate almost half past twelve on Sunday night. There were lights shining all the time in our room. The person blew his horn to come in, I was forced to open the gate. The guy came knocking loudly on our room door and looked for the caretaker because he wanted to check in. I told him we don't know where the person is. Make sure there is a time when people can check in at the last without disturbing other people. It is also dangerous to just open the gate. But it was clear that the man wanted to check in.

Menlyn Apartments room number 3 is neat, but with shortcomings. There is no light at the single mirror, which makes it very difficult to apply makeup. Although there is good lighting in the bathroom, the bathroom mirror is too high for a shorter person. There is also a wall plug missing from the mirror, which makes plugging in a hairdryer difficult. There is no shelf/table in the bathroom, and one's shower bag is consequently on the floor. A hand soap by the sink would be handy. The WiFi is stable and the bottled water very welcome. The bedding was clean and the mattress was comfortable.
The units were decently equipped, it's the perfect place to stay for a short stay in Pretoria.

We had a nice stay.
On arrival we had to wait for our room to be made ready. And even though we paid for 4 people, there was only 1 towel. Set of pillows and blankets for 3 persons. I also went to ask for extra towels and pillows which were not given to me at all. The bathroom's shower and bath water is ice cold and therefore we could not take a bath properly. Very disappointed with the service.
There is no air cooling. Outside porch shared with room next door and they went so loud that I couldn't hear my TV's sound at times. The TV channels are minimal and not really something to watch. The bathroom is not up to standard. When you shower the whole toilet is wet.
Bedding very dirty and full of stains. No top sheet and had to sleep under a duvet even though it was full of white spots. Sheets and pillows also had dirty spots on them. Not sure if it was washed between visitors as pillows smelled of perfume and human odor. I was forced to put a towel over the pillow as I only went to bed late at night and staff were already off duty. Took pictures. Also, one of the customers had a visit from three guests and they were terribly noisy. I couldn't sleep at all. It sounded like someone was banging the furniture against the walls. When I mentioned this to the woman at reception, she just said I must have complained during the night.

No breakfast was a disappointment. How about a gift voucher for breakfast somewhere. Palm trees by the pool are going to be a problem, otherwise everything was fine.
Pleasantly surprised. Ideally located. Secure parking under cover. Friendly welcome by James, the Jack of all trades security man/reception. Room comfortable and spacious, modernly decorated, clean and tidy. Beds very comfortable. Small kitchen well equipped. Desk and table was a plus. Nice shower, but because the toilet/shower is very close to each other in undivided open space, it leaves the toilet floor soaked and unpleasant. We really enjoyed the beautiful garden, outdoor seating and pool. The living quarters are very close/right next to each other and although we didn't have noisy neighbors, it is disturbing because you can hear everything in the rooms next door, from phone conversations to going to the toilet. And it was with a closed door. For the 15 hours we stayed there was no electricity - load shedding and a transformer exploded leaving the whole area in darkness. The owner contacted us to explain and arranged for candles which James brought to our room. The owner may consider flashlights/emergency lights/solar power with batteries/inverter to keep lights, internet and other essentials running for a few hours. I would consider staying at Menlyn Apartments again, provided I know there won't be noisy guests/neighbours.
At check-out there was no one to let us out, the gardener checked us in. The place also needs a little maintenance. For the price it was okay.

The morning of our departure there was no water. We couldn't shower or finish peacefully. We should have called friends to take a quick shower and brush our teeth before we drove back to Bloemfontein.

The double room unit is very comfortable and spacious. It is also centrally located and safe. Everything was nice and clean. The host also went to great lengths to confirm our arrival and departure times and everything was handled professionally and kindly. We didn't need it as we didn't cook there, but I would just recommend that some 'cooking facilities' are provided like a can opener, egg spatula and sharp knife. And maybe just an extra little table or shelf in the second bedroom, because storage space on the bedside tables is very limited.
We had a nice stay. There were a few things that were missing. Like dish towels to wash and dry the cups with. And a chair or two to put things on. The place was nice and clean and the service friendly.
It was really nice and clean and the rooms are very neat, my suggestion would be to look into air-cons for the rooms as well as Netflix or DStv. Then I feel that we need to look at when music is allowed to be played, everyone hangs out on the stoep in front of their rooms, in the weekend's case until 04:00 the next morning and we had to start a long journey again with little to no sleep. Parking is neat, for small vehicles, but with a bakkie or larger vehicle the space is tight, maybe another gate would make it better. Thank you.
Garden and swimming pool are very neglected and it doesn't look like the pictures. Shower facilities are uncomfortable, the paint comes off and lands on your feet, no place to put your clothes in the bathroom. Everything is wet when you shower because it has no door.

We had a nice stay, we booked 2 rooms. I feel that the second room closest to the house didn't have a curtain stopper, and every time you try to close the curtain, the railing comes off. Three tries my husband got it right. The rooms need at least one bed light that makes it more convenient when going to bed. Little rugs next to the beds will also be a lot more convenient. The reason I won't recommend it to other people is because there isn't Wi-Fi or a TV.
For a new accommodation option it's not too bad, but I would say they could improve on the finer details.
I informed that we would arrive around 14:00. When we got there we hooted, but no answer. We had to call the owner to hear how to get in. About 10 minutes later a lady came to the house to open up. I travel a lot, go different places over weekends for a break from our hectic work lifestyle, but I felt the price was a bit overboard for what we got. No TV or radio. Perhaps look at small bedside lights, it only had one big or main light in the room, so if one party sleeps, you have the main light on. The one and only window faces the driveway and the road. A net curtain or a blind should have been on the window, as we were not allowed to open the curtain, making the room dark and we had to have the bedroom light on during the afternoon and if curtain was opened there is no privacy. There were tenants next door and they have to walk past our window from the parking to get to their unit and they would see right inside. It says it's self-catering, so where was the 2 plate stove. False advertisement, so definitely a no go. Won't recommend and the price is way too much for what we got. Also, there is no marking or name of Menlyn Apartments on the house outside. It just has a number and it is not in the street advertised. The entrance is around the corner in another street. Disappointed. The pictures on internet is not what we saw!
