19 guests' feedbackHad a fantastic 3 nights at Meraki Cottage and it was exactly what we wanted, so amazingly peaceful and with beautiful views. A perfect location to explore the Swartberg Pass area. The house is rustic as advertised, but very comfortable. My only comment would be the need for more pots in the kitchen and some upkeep on various taps, as a few were loose and wobbly.
We had a wonderful stay in this old farmhouse with the thick walls that keep out the cold! Everything you need is there, with cute extras that kept the kids busy!
We really enjoyed staying at Meraki. Wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful view of mountains and very peaceful. Perfect getaway for peace and quiet. Well stocked with all that is needed. For those with a farming background - you will love it! We noticed on our way out that it is so close to the Cango Caves, Wilgewandel and Crocodile Farm, so a good place to stay if you want to explore the surrounds.
This place is so genuinely old farmhouse and delightful, that I want to not tell anyone else about it so I can keep it for myself. I'll be back.
Working farm, conveniently located for Prince Albert, De Rust and Calitzdorp area. The Matjesrivier and Kruidrivier environments are breathtakingly beautiful. The host's kindness and preparation was a great experience.
Great spot to unwind, and access the region. Rudimentary as expected.
When we arrived at Meraki, having prepaid in full, we found the accommodation so wanting that we did not stay. It was dark, old, very tired looking and lacked every kind of mod-con. If I could only use one word it would've been 'sleazy'.
The family loved staying at this venue. It's so well located and the view to the top of the Swartberg Pass is incredible.
Meraki Cottage has a beautiful old house feel that has been beautifully restored and upgraded. Very nice wood and interior finishes. It is a wonderful base from which to explore the Oudsthoorn area. Very nice mountain view. The accommodation is very good value for money. Enough blankets and warm bedding for the coldest winter nights.
Rustic and a great view and historic house. Love it and a great place to find yourself.
Very comfortable place to stay in a beautiful area. Owner was friendly and hospitable.
We had such a nice stay, and the best of all is the incredibly beautiful view of the mountains.
Lovely old house providing a comfortable stay. Excellent value for money in a picturesque setting.
Meraki Cottage is a neatly creative house that lives like a farmhouse. Perfect for a weekend away with friends or family. A stone's throw from Swartberg Manor house which has the most delicious restaurant. Wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely on the revisit list.
My partner and I were very pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the surrounds, the privacy throughout our stay and the spaciousness of the house.
Meraki Cottage is charming because it is brought into harmony with nature. To look at the Black Mountains from your bedroom window is truly something special. We had a great barbecue and had everything we needed in the house. The creative way in which the old farmhouse has been restored can be seen everywhere in the house. Will stay here again for sure.
Wonderful place! Can recommend to those looking for a quiet place close to the Swartberg Mountains.
Peaceful atmosphere and would have been cozier around the coal stove if it was in working order, especially in the very cold weather. Pay attention to loose sink faucets. Can recommend that more history about cottage is provided as reading material. Maps and information about the nearby places can also be provided.
