We took the weekend to rest, and that's exactly how we left on Sunday. Rested The facilities in the room are beautiful and well maintained. The view is breathtaking. We were kindly received. Even our room was serviced after one night's sleep. We will definitely come back again.

Stayed two nights at Merlot171 B&B, did a cycle race the Sunday. Place was clean to the T. Host explained everything from light switches to security, replies well via WhatAspp when i needed anything. Made my stay comfortable, peaceful. the pool is divine.
The only complaint I have is that the security was not aware of arrival. I would expect them to be notified in advance.

I would suggest that the rules should be stipulated more clearly as sometimes if we are more than 2 that's booking (separate rooms) we (my husband, myself and our friend) came from a wedding and wanted to still hang out in the rooms, but the owner informed us that he will switch on the beams which means you can't hang out if it is after a certain time. This B&B I will prefer for the older type of people.
The biggest surprise was the breakfast provided in the small fridge. So tasty packaged! And a nice pot of flowers next to the bed.
The guest house is located on a beautiful estate and the room was comfortable and tidy. Although we arrived at a bad time (there was an emergency on the estate) the owner still made the effort to make sure we were comfortable and checked again later on the weekend if everything was fine. The breakfast was delicious and we appreciated the little extras in the room. The guest house is a few minutes' drive from quite a few wine farms and restaurants.
I was very kindly received by the owner of the house. Breakfast was sufficient and tasty. I personally had a problem with the WiFi. My phone wouldn't pick it up at all. Host was helpful but we couldn't solve the problem.

The only thing that might count against the wonderful place is that it is within a larger estate, and not a stand-alone unit on the farm.
Just something small, but it will add to your already excellent clean and tidy rooms if you can maybe just mop or vacuum the floors every 2nd day! But otherwise no criticism!
We had 3 double bedrooms, all very well equipped. The host explained everything nicely and provided information about the environment. Can definitely recommend Merlot171 even though we only slept for 1 night.

Merlot 171 was perfectly located, close to the Breytenbach center where we wanted to be and the security is a big plus! Lovely farm atmosphere, beautiful view, very clean and tidy. Very convenient to have breakfast in the room! I can definitely recommend it!

We rested well. Everything was neat and we were kindly received. Everything was very nice. The TV was a bit small and they are currently building with the neighbors. It was a bit noisy on Saturday morning. But it's still a nice place. Will come again.

Merlot 171 B&B is located in an estate in a peaceful environment. The room is beautifully furnished with nice decor. Breakfast (yogurt, muesli, quiche, etc.) was included in the price and was provided every day! It had been more than enough. The room is also equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, extra blanket, hot water bag, etc. Beautiful view of the veranda from the room. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Myburgh was very accommodating and friendly. The venue is quiet, private and very comfortable. The self help breakfast the next morning on the patio was a good end to our stay.

The advertisement is a bit misleading as this is not farm accommodation, but a residential area (estate) bordering the farm. The accommodation is "rustic" with thatched roof and tastefully furnished. Bedding is of good quality to ensure a good night's rest. Rooms are equipped with fridge and microwave and en-suite bathroom. There is no dining room but breakfast is provided in the room which may not suit everyone. The quiche we could warm up in the microwave was tasty and there was also muesli and yoghurt. The friendly host was always helpful. Is recommended.
We received a warm welcome by the owner, Myburgh. Great suggestions on food, nothing was too much for him. One suggestion would be to have a small area to be able to prepare food and drinks, this is very tiny and no practical.
We really enjoyed it, we were welcomed with open arms and it made us feel at home. We would definitely recommend Merlot if you need a quick hideaway weekend.

Lovely location on a wine farm, safe and quiet. Close enough even to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the area. Although we were not there for the TV it was available but a bit small. We will stay there again if we move towards the Cape.
Merlot171 is great! Myburgh is the perfect host - he explained everything well when we arrived and is really helpful. The room has everything one needs. The quiche and yogurt breakfast was delicious. The room is beautiful and the view even more beautiful. Very nice bed and shower. I can only imagine how nice it is to swim in that beautiful pool in the summer.

The area is beautiful, but the photos give the impression that it is a farm with detached homesteads, which is not the case. Although I am not filing this as a complaint, perhaps it is something to address in terms of customer expectation.
Everything was lovely except that the owners bedroom is right next to the rooms and was kept up by their TV until after 12 my first night after travelling, and woken at 6:30 on Sunday morning by their child that they allowed to scream and shout till 8am after I'd come back late from a wedding.
It is a very cute place with spacious rooms and bathrooms. The hostess is very friendly and made us feel right at home. She went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Everything you need to just sleep is there as well as a delicious cup of coffee, delicious quiche for breakfast and a small fridge for your own convenience. Just make sure in advance that the place offers everything you are looking for or need and don't assume. For us countrymen it was quite a shock to arrive in the Cape and it's terribly hot and you get a room with only a fan in it... It was a disappointment.
Our breakfast was 2 small mini quiches (very small) which were already in the fridge the day before and there were not even biscuits available. It was very disappointing!
Merlot171 B&B is a beautiful place with the most beautiful decor! It is very neat and you feel at home there. The owners were very friendly and went the extra mile by booking us a table at Oude Wellington. They really went the extra mile. I would definitely recommend the Merlot171 and definitely stay there again!

We slept well and we appreciate the friendly owners. But unfortunately there was no trash can inside the room or outside the door. Although there is a microwave oven in the cupboard, the cold breakfast in the fridge is not acceptable for us, especially considering the price. The powdered coffee in the paper containers... Oh, I wished so much for a hot pot of coffee and a hot breakfast.

The town of Wellington is a small, well knitted community with the most stunning church buildings I've ever seen. Metlot 171 is so breathtaking with its mountains at the background.Its really a tranquil place that allows you to just relax and forget about business. The rooms are magnificent and you are guaranteed a good nights rest. Sally is the most gracious, warmest host. She really made my stay an absolute pleasure and made me feel at home! Hope to meet Myburg and Elsabe the next time!
