The entertainment area is equipped with comfortable couches, a flat-screen TV, and a pool table. The open-plan living area is furnished with comfortable seating and a dining area with a 10-seater dining room table.
There is a charming undercover veranda with outdoor seating and views over the beautiful garden and there is off-street parking for three vehicles in front of the house.

15 guests' feedbackWe had such a nice stay in the house and we would recommend the house to everyone, it is so nice and peaceful.
We had a good time and also went for a walk. The house is fully equipped and is very neat and comfortable. There is enough sleeping space for 10 people. There were only 6 of us. Parking was also ample and covered. The house is incredibly beautiful and durable. Will definitely recommend. Willie and Sandra are also very friendly and even asked afterwards if everything was OK.

We are a family with many children and everyone looking for their own space. This beautiful abode has met everyone's needs, and is wonderfully equipped for family time. Nice big and beautiful bedrooms and nobody steps on each other's toes. Enough visiting areas so that adults and children can sit and visit in different places. The view and the location are unbeatable! Very pleasant people and so helpful. We will definitely go again!
Home is very well appointed - everything one could wish for and a fantastic, peaceful setting. Bonus: saw a pod of 40+ whales!
Mermaid Castle is not well equipped for a winter break. There is a lovely fireplace in the living room, but it may not be used. The braai place is very small. Remember to bring your own cleaning materials (rags, sponges, drying cloths, black bags, washing-up liquid, etc.). It is not provided. The main bedroom does not have an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is inside the room. There is no partition around the toilet. In other words you have no privacy when you have to go to the toilet. It's very strange. Not very romantic. We preferred to use the guest toilet downstairs. The location of Mermaid Castle is indeed fantastic.

We spent time in Jacobs Bay / Jacobsbaai and wow, did it bring smiles to our faces. They have everything you need, large sleeping areas, large open plan kitchen with pantry. All the standard appliances are available, even hair driers. Mermaid Castle has WiFi, DStv, a pool table and a great braai area that is very private. The best room in the house is the Loft room that overlooks the bay side and waking up to the sound of the ocean was perfect. Would recommend this house to anyone. Oh, and the garden is brilliant and leads to great walking paths. It is truly a hidden gem.
Mermaid Castle is somewhere between a West Coast postcard and a Disney story. It isn't a beach house, it is a getaway castle. The decor is unique and fun. The rooms are well equipped (hairdryers and towel warmers in every bathroom to keep the fairytale princesses happy). The braai area is big enough for kings while the kids chase one another around the table ... and the dishwasher ensures that no one needs to scrub and wash like Cinderella! There are enough quiet corners in the house and garden too enjoy as quiet cup of coffee, or you can walk on the beach in a fairy tale moment ... and enjoy the view from the patio as the sun sets, as close to perfect as any "happily ever after". The host lady is the good fairy. She provided information from day one about the house in Jacobs Bay. Her enthusiasm and helpfulness made us feel at home (even before we checked in). Pack your tiara and your slippers ... a fairytale holiday awaits in Jacobs Bay.
Our stay at Meermin was unbelievable. House is beautiful, neat and clean. Wonderful service and everything that you need for a nice getaway. We were 10 adults and 5 young children and there was even a play room to keep them busy on a cold day. Will definitely recommend it.
