Merrimetsi Gasteplaas is a beautifully restored self-catering farmhouse built in 1890, located on part of a working cattle farm at the foot of the Koranna Mountains, approximately 35 km from Excelsior in the Free State.

This property can accommodate 6 adults and 4 children, comprising 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The first bedroom is comfortably furnished with 2 single beds and features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, the third bedroom contains 2 child-only beds, while the fourth bedroom has a queen-size bed and 2 child-only beds. These bedrooms share the remaining bathrooms, one fitted with a bath and a shower, and the other with just a shower. Linen and bath towels are provided.

The home features a well-equipped kitchen that includes a 2-plate gas stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery, and fridge-freezer. The lounging and dining areas have ample comfortable seating for guests to dine and relax and boast indoor fireplaces and a built-in braai. Access to free Wi-Fi is available.

Outside, guests can enjoy a firepit for warm summer evenings around the fire. A walking route is available for the more adventurous, leading up the Korannaberg around Leeukop and back to the guest house. For a slightly easier and more peaceful walk, you can walk along the road. There is also a pond in front of the house where guests can catch and release bass.
