299 guests' feedbackI was last at Merry Pebbles about 10 years ago, why, I don't know. Today it is even better, even more beautiful, even cleaner, even quieter, even safer and more and more. From now on I will gladly drive the 250km or so to relax there for a weekend, heaven on earth! If you haven't been there to stay in a caravan or in a chalet or tent, you don't know what you're missing!
Very nice stay. Great service.
Very nice, it was very clean and quiet, just the way we like it.
Most beautiful place by the water. Chalets are beautiful, neat and perfectly equipped. Great stay.
Very nice camping. Friendly, clean, neat, beautiful.
We had a lot of fun, children can move around and enjoy themselves.
Beautiful resort with many activities surrounded by beautiful nature.
Stayed 2 nights to explore the area. Made good use of the fireplace on the cold evenings. The children also enjoyed the hot pool.
Had a nice sleep over. We actually only got my sister-in-law there, on her way out of the KNP, to visit us. Normally I prefer to be around that area in a warmer time.
We camped while friends were in a chalet. The campsite was very neat. The bathrooms were kept very tidy the whole time and the water was nice and warm. WiFi in the campsite was better than at the chalets, but was good enough.
Absolutely wonderful stay at Merry Pebbles, staff very friendly and helpful, place clean and tidy, everything one needs, except that the braaiers need grills for braai please. Thank you.
I always enjoy staying there. Lots to see and do. Food is delicious. Enough to keep kids busy. Quiet and safe. And beautiful.
Excellent stay.
Camping in a beautiful natural environment only a short distance from the town of Sabie was magical. Well run, friendly staff and really clean amenities was the order of the day. Also central to many activities and sights in the area. The Graskop lift is worth a visit. Highly recommended and will surely camp there again in the future.
Very nice camping there.
We had a very peaceful Easter weekend under the trees. Bathroom facilities were always clean, pools were clean. And it was nice that our four-legged child could also go camping with us. It was so nice to see so many people riding their bikes around the resort.
We had a great time camping and swimming.
We had a wonderful stay. Our children really enjoyed it. Will go again for sure.
Place is more than photos show. Our stay was phenomenal, perfect location, washrooms were extremely clean and serviced regularly. Campsite is well maintained and very clean. Security patrolled in the evening to ensure everyone's safety. No noise was allowed, so it had been unusually peaceful. Just what the soul needed. We will definitely camp there again.
Very nice! The place was neat and clean. Enjoyed it immensely.
Loved our stay there. Used to camp there 15 years ago and everything is still the same and well maintained. Loved it!
Nice quiet caravan park.
Excellent, I would stay there again anytime.
We had a very nice stay. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant food is fantastic. Swimming pools are pretty clean.
We really enjoyed our time there. It was peaceful and just what my soul needed before the rough crazy season of the year begins.
Very nice campsite with clean bathrooms. The river is very beautiful and a bonus to camp along. Would easily go back again. The only negative is that the 'hot' pool wasn't really hot so we couldn't use it.
We had such a nice stay, small but very comfortable for 2 people. Will definitely stay there again. Everything was clean and tidy, very good value for money. Staff is very friendly and made us feel at home.
Great place, the living room sofa was already put out which was a little uncomfortable, but otherwise everything was very nice!
Merry Pebbles is a neat and clean campsite. The river creates a nice atmosphere. The staff is friendly. Merry Pebbles is a good base for exploring the Panorama Route.
Would like to thank the staff for making our stay enjoyable. Children had lots of fun.
The cottage provides basic needs and is like a caravan on steroids. It was clean and tidy. Will definitely take mosquito repellent next time - mesh in front of the windows may be necessary as swarms of mosquitoes can be quite a nuisance. Especially since the doors and windows have to be open at night due to hot weather - there is no air conditioning, take an extra fan. Would rather say it is for 2 adults and 2 children than 4 adults and 2 children, otherwise it gets quite cramped.
Very quiet and peaceful environment central to attractions.
The accommodation was beautiful being next to the water and really nice as opposed to camping. It's just really tight by the bedrooms and bathrooms, and the concertina doors don't offer much privacy, and both our doors broke a little (my handle came off). We tried to use the provided fans but only one worked, so it was a bit warm at night (luckily rain came and cooled things down a bit). The cleaning service was a great service, as the chalet can get dirty. We arrived quite late but couldn't get through to anyone to tell them when to expect us, unfortunately.
We had a nice stay, but renovations can be made.
Merry Pebbles is a lovely resort to stay at with multiple activities available although we only used the warm pool and the Loerie day hiking trail. The cleaners came every day, for the braai area as well. We just had to ask for a braai grid at reception. We were on the river bank which might have contributed towards the chalet feeling cold and a bit damp every morning, but it soon warmed up with some sun.
Very nice. Enjoyed it very much. Will visit soon again.
It was very nice and we had a nice swim.
Had a lovely stay. Neat and compact. The house is located on the river and very peaceful. Children could enjoy cycling, swimming and playing. The calm babbling of the river is relaxing. There are nice cycling routes nearby. It might just be good to inform families with very small children in advance how close the particular cottage is to the river (the others are at least quite a distance).
Same as 20 years ago - we love it for that. Safe, clean and quiet.
Neat and beautifully clean, but houses already very old. Could also do with new bedding. Resort has a hot pool, but by 11 o'clock the water was still cold and the gate was closed. The resort is neat, but the surroundings and town have deteriorated terribly.
We had a great time at Merry Pebbles Resort. Nice place for kids.
The resort exceeded our expectations. The pitches are lovely and the ablution facilities clean and tidy. The pool and playground areas are well maintained and in excellent condition. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
I'm tired of typing here. I think it's the web. I had a nice stay thank you. It was pretty clean and tidy.
For a quiet time of year, our camping stay at Merry Pebbles Resort was perfect. Lots of space and peace and quiet. Clean facilities and well-maintained. I suspect this place will be buzzing in high seasons.
Everything went perfectly well.
Entertainment, hot pool, and games were all absolutely amazing.
We had a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Our family camped and we were lucky to stay close to them and be close to everything. Friendly service from reception to our departure. Side note: We forgot personal items at the resort and received great cooperation and help with the courier of items! Will visit there again for sure.
The staff at the resort are outstanding and a pleasure to deal with. The resort is clean and well maintained. It was a pleasure not to have to worry about load shedding as they have full solar.
Very nice resort, very well maintained. Will go there again anytime.
We really enjoyed the weekend.
See stars.
Fantastic restaurant.
My wife and I went to school together in Sabie in the seventies and we enjoyed it so much there at Merry Pebbles and had a good time and their accommodation and restaurant are also of excellent quality with the service there and with our arrival and departure the customer service and friendliness at the reception is great and we would recommend Merry Pebbles anytime for a break or holiday and to spend time in the wonderful nature there to relax and rest with the scenery and river and what so many beautiful memories for me and my wife neglects to be able to relax and rest there again where our roots of our lives are still deeply buried. Many thanks again to the management and resort of Merry Pebbles, we really appreciate it.
Friendly staff and a memorable weekend.
It was very nice to visit Merry Pebbles Resort. Will do so again and have good service.
The campsite is well looked after and there is plenty to do for the kids.
Ablution blocks are always clean and always have hot water. Camp grounds are neatly and clearly marked. Safe for the children to play and there is security patrolling in the evening. Will definitely visit there again.
Amenities and grounds are excellent. Very good value for money in a nice area with loads to do and see.
It was damn good at Merry Pebbles! The Children really enjoyed the stair cars and swimming pool in the evening.
Only problem we picked up was that the area was quite noisy - factory near the camp setting off alarms and machinery making noise in the early morning hours, but we realize this is beyond the camp's control.
Just awesome. People are friendly and I enjoyed my 60th birthday there.
The resort manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. Als is neat and clean. Restaurant very neat and serves fantastic fresh food. Will definitely go home there again and will definitely want to go camping there. Pitches big and neat and so are ablutions.
We were amazed at how the place looks. Was there 33 years back. It's a paradise! Pitches are incredibly large. Large shade trees, lots of shade, lawns, neatly marked and clean. Very quiet and peaceful. Security guards. Clean swimming pools. Plenty of room for children to run, play and ride bikes. We are already planning our next getaway. Thank you very much.
Was great fun, exceeded wildest dreams and really enjoyed it.
Did we stay nice for you, mercy! What a pleasure! Clean, tidy and friendly staff. We were there over Christmas and had an INCREDIBLE Christmas dinner - thank you! It rained every second day and I felt sorry for the campers, but also saw that they were up to it - not that rain stops children from frolicking in the hot water pool. Our house was perfect. It is quite old but well maintained. Would go back tomorrow if I could!
No shedding was a big plus. However, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. Thank you so much for the special memories!
Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway.
More, we had a great time and the service was excellent. Thank you very much.
No loadshedding was our highlight. It was very family-oriented and clean.
It was very nice, the people were friendly and the camp green and clean. Really enjoyed it, the scenery was beautiful and peaceful. The restaurant was cute and the waiters friendly. Will visit the place again with friends.
We had a great time camping, my only issue was with the bathrooms. The bathroom at Block E had no hot water, I reported this to the management a few times but it didn't get fixed over the long weekend. We took a shower at the second bathroom, but there was no water pressure, and the water was lukewarm. It is a very nice campsite, but water pressure and hot water are a big problem.
The campsite is beautiful, and the facilities are clean and tidy. The atmosphere is festive and cozy.
Beautiful, medium to very large pitches on nice grass. Lots of coolness and ablution facilities are constantly kept clean until late at night. Lots to do in and around the resort. Lovely swimming pools. Will come again if it's not rainy season.
Our accommodation was very satisfying. We enjoyed our stay. The resort is well maintained, and the beautiful natural surroundings are definitely a plus. Our cabana was practical, clean and neat. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Great stay without loadshedding. Residence is neat and clean.
There was no problem for us except that the kitchen light and microwave didn't work, but we didn't need them.
It was peaceful and nice. Grills just need grates.
We went home in a river cottage. The unit was modern, very neat and well equipped. Free WiFi was available. The resort was neat and quiet. We even had children who came to play tok-tokkie on Saturday night. There is an area just outside the resort that is used by the local community - it was a bit disturbing as they were playing loud music but luckily it didn't last too long. Unfortunately there is nothing the resort can do about it as it is public land. The hot pool was closed at times when we wanted to go swimming (we had chilly weather so I assume it was to control the temperature of the pool). The little shop has everything one needs and we even used the laundry. Compared to other resorts we visited this month, the laundry was very expensive (double the price of the other resorts per token). The restaurant's food was delicious (especially the Trout dishes) and the service was good. Merry Pebbles makes a good base if you want to do the activities in the area. There is also plenty to do on the resort itself. We will definitely stay at Merry Pebbles again if we are in the area.
Activities for families to stay within the resort and close to various natural attractions around the area.
Enjoyed a lot. Restaurant's food is delicious. Would recommend the place anytime.
Overall good. Pool and table tennis games not available after 20h00. Sleeper couches can be replaced by single beds, as there is enough space. Restaurant staff are new and untrained, so we ended up eating all our meals in Sabie, and not at the resort restaurant.
Merry Pebbles is really beautiful and looks like it would be fun for kids. The bathrooms were disappointing though. The floors were always soaking wet, toilets' water supply is poor so toilet paper won't flush and I never once got hot water. The bathrooms have sensors for lights that work well, just a shame if you are alone in the bathroom and you take a shower then the lights go off and it's pitch black.
Friendly staff. Before the long weekend, garden services were actively busy getting the resort ready for holidaymakers.
Bathroom clean and tidy. No shedding.
Very clean, quiet and safe. Restaurant's food was not so good.
Much too expensive. Pools should stay open late at night. Pool was dirty on the wall of pool on the sides.
Friendly service. The resort is very neat and clean. Very safe.
The restaurant is excellent. I loved the hot pool. Would definitely visit again.
It's well located to visit all the places.

We had a great time camping the weekend will go back again.
Beautiful nature, close to all the beautiful places on the panorama route and wildlife park. Good, friendly service with no load shedding - there are solar panels.
Very neat and clean. And a wonderful view.
We lived in 12A there was only one problem with the bed, the bosses were broken.
The resort is well managed and we were pleasantly surprised with the solar power and no load shedding. The camp is lovely with lots of coolness, you can camp pretty much anywhere, all pitches are lovely. Lots of good shops on site too.
The whole family was impressed! From the go-karts to the swimming pool and the space to walk. The staff were very helpful and even prepared to serve breakfast at 7:00 as we left for home.
This was our first visit to Merry Pebbles and we were pleasantly surprised. We were kindly welcomed, stayed comfortably in the cottage. Everything is very clean and tidy. Their pizza is delicious. Best of all, our children were able to play on their own in the resort. We will definitely go back again.
Very nice and neat.
Very nice place, very clean and tidy with an excellent restaurant.
The resort is neat, quiet and friendly. Still managed by the descendants of developer in the 70s. For sure a place where parents can go with peace of mind. Shared bathrooms for rooms are any woman's dream, it is very clear that the resort's finances are well managed.
Great area. Very clean and neat.
Excellent location and comfortable accommodation to explore the surrounding area. Calm atmosphere.
We really enjoyed the 10 days. The resort is beautiful and safe. The children are on bicycles all day. It was nice to feel safe and enjoy great scenery. At least the lowlands are the most beautiful in our country.
Value for money. The cleanest and safest camp in the forest. The bathrooms are spotless. There is so much to do in the resort. Merry Pebbles is perfectly located to visit all the beautiful things in the Panorama.
Cottages are beautiful and well equipped. Swimming pools are nice and clean. Park is generally very neat and safe.
The unit, facilities and park were very neat and clean with good security and would recommend it to anyone. Really liked their efforts to conserve energy through their solar panels, geysers etc to reduce the impact on climate change and we had no problem with load shedding. They are far ahead in many areas and can learn a lot from them. Would definitely stay there again, either in a cottage or caravan park.
The whole site is beautiful, green and tidy. There is such a nice space for children to run around, swim, play by the river, ride bikes and kick a ball! You can do as much or as little as you want.
Very nice, clean and tidy, I think in the summer you will enjoy it even more. Our weather was very cold, but it is so beautiful. A big bonus is that they are off-grid with loadshedding so we had power and hot water at all times, was great, thank you.

We stayed at Merry Pebbles for 3 days on our way to the Kruger National Park. Chalet was very comfortable and tidy. Everything we needed was available. Sabie and surroundings are beautiful.
Beds may be upgraded for more comfort. Some of the beds' bases were broken. The management may just need to know what is going on in Sabie to warn visitors against protests. The WiFi was very weak, had to move around to get a good signal.
The chalet was very neat, comfortable and also has a fireplace for cold evenings. The menu needs to be upgraded, some of the dishes are no longer available. Restaurant times on the menu and on the map you get from the office also do not match. Delivery from restaurant to the chalet is great.
Fantastic clean bathrooms that are serviced all day. Beautiful grounds. Shop that has everything needed for the weekend. Don't even have to go to town. Lots to do for kids. Very close to hiking and biking trails.
Campsite enough shade and grass!
Everything was nice and clean.
If nice clean and tidy. We will visit the resort again. Very nice environment.
Just a pity pool is really not warm.
Could not connect to WiFi. The room was cold at night but the bed was warm.
Friendly welcome. Stayed in Cabanas. Very neat and clean. Very still. Everything was pretty clean.
See stars.
Had a wonderful, restful holiday in a beautiful location.
We only stayed 1 night en route to KNP, it was not enough time to enjoy everything at Merry Pebbles. Food was delicious in the restaurant, kids were free to roam around and play. Lovely family accommodation and facilities. We will definitely be back!
Merry Pebbles has a tranquility, with the trees, little river and nature. Very nice camping facilities.
I spent a good time there with my family and we enjoyed ourselves. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.
Merry pebbles is a beautiful place. The children can have fun playing and swimming. The staff are friendly and happy to help. The bathrooms are nice and clean. We had a great time camping with a nice view of the stream. The stands are also large enough so that you have your own space.
Merry Pebbles met all our requirements. We were able to rest wonderfully - very quiet and peaceful among all the trees and natural beauty.
It feels like the type of place my dad always told me they visited when he was little.
Not luxurious, but neat and clean. All in good working order. Maintenance of the place is very good. Quiet and peaceful. I have known Merry Pebbles for over 20 years. Haven't been there in a while. Still the same. Will go again. Good restaurant too.
We camped in a caravan. Good pitches with large shade trees. The ablution facilities were also kept neat and clean.
This resort is clean and safe. The service was great. Children can ride bikes and play. The ablution facilities are cleaned all day so everything is always clean and tidy!
Probably one of the most beautiful campsites. Very clean and tidy. Grass is always green and neatly cut.
We camped. Apart from the rain, we had a great time camping. The grass makes it so much better to camp on. The ablution blocks are very clean and tidy. We will go there again for sure. Thank you very much for great service.
Great fun for children, neat and beautiful location.
Camping areas are large, ablution facilities clean and tidy. Lots of activities for the kids. 24/7 security - very safe.
Neat accommodation with very friendly service.
Kids had a blast in the pools, the restaurant serves nice food. Overall a very nice place to stay.
My husband and I had a great time camping. Ablutions are very neat and clean. The site is also well maintained and the grass is well cut. Sufficient shade trees for campers. The laundry was a big plus - we could return home with clean dry clothes.
It is so peaceful and the surroundings are beautiful.
We could not stop looking out and listening to the beautiful scene before us. Took pictures all the time as the light changed and the mist lifted as the sun rose. Everywhere there is lovely grass and shade and sunspots. Electricity and rubbish bin are conveniently close by. Would highly recommend anyone to visit Merry Pebbles.
Very neat, good location.
The rain made it very difficult to walk anywhere, the grass where eventually just mud everywhere, a small walkway from the flat to the road is needed. Cutlery at cabana is pathetic, not even one decent knife to cut meat especially over Christmas. The shower needs a new seal, its water all over floor after use. I think it's much better at resort when it doesn't rain. Stoep tiles very very slippery when wet!
Perfect for camping.
Unwillingness to assist.
Very neat, nice and quiet, safe and well located.
It had been neat and safe.
Very neat, peaceful atmosphere except for the noise on the other side at other resort. No. 14's bed must please be replaced, bed sleeps very uncomfortable.
Camp beautiful. However, the above does break down. So not recommending me next, especially the noise of the sawmill.
We had a very nice chalet with a wonderful view. Everything was clean, comfortable and tidy. The reception and restaurant staff were polite but not friendly at all. Restaurant food was tasty and the waiter helpful.
Lots of nature to see.
Fishing a bonus and excellent location allround
Enjoy! All that bothered me a bit was the noise in the evening from mining activities.
The staff was super professional! Beautiful location, and very cleanly.
We had a wonderful stay, everyone was very friendly and very good service. The restaurant and Christmas dinner were top notch. Was honestly just disappointed in the chalet's bathroom. The bath was badly stained and I struggled with the water pressure of the shower. Also just feel that if I pay R2000 per night I can expect at least 2-ply toilet paper. Even though we had a great time and had everything we needed, I honestly don't feel the chalets should be R2000 per night. If I compare it with e.g. Marlothpark's house for 6 people (R1000) per night, there is a world of difference for the same price.
Wouldn't change anything except it could do with more taps and better grills.
It was very nice and clean. I would use it for future trips when going back to Mpumalanga.
Apartments are cleaned very neatly every day, friendly and safe.
The only bad thing is that the braai is a bit impractical.
Fantastic place! Children enjoy the river. Close to waterfalls and many activities in and around Sabie. Will definitely go again. Beautiful scenery.
A warm welcome on arrival and good service on departure. Room was well serviced every morning.
We did enjoy the Sabie tube run and Merry Pebbles is the perfect location for the event. We also enjoyed the facilities Merry Pebbles have like the restaurant, and the swimming pools.
We had a great time relaxing here at Merry Pebbles. The stream and nature sounds are blissful. No noise like motorbikes etc. is not allowed. It was delicious.
Will definitely stay there again.
So beautiful! Nice atmosphere. Clean and near. Didn't want for anything.
Merry Pebbles is one of those places you just want to visit again and again and again. The campground, the resort, the pools everything was just so clean. We enjoyed every moment there. This is definitely going to be a favorite with us.
We got very cold in our tent next to the river, but it was worth it. At night the mist creeps up on the hill and Merry Pebbles looks like something out of a fairy tale. The bathrooms were always clean and never too small for all the campers. The shower's water was warm every time. The restaurant's food was delicious and they have a big variety, the fireplace gives the place a cosy atmosphere. At the shop you can buy anything form ice to tubes and their wood is very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a liquor store so you never have to drive anywhere if you don't want to.
The campsite was very neat, the bathrooms were so clean, thank you for the ladies who cleaned it. Was an incredible experience.
Merry Pebbles won over our hearts. Safe, clean, convenient and friendly people. Thank you for the hospitality.
We, four adults and two small children, stayed at Merry Pebbles Resort for 11 days in a Bungalow. Although everything we needed was in the Bungalow, the space was cramped, (our personal opinion) but in good condition. The management and staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities, especially with the small children, were excellent. The place is quiet, peaceful and safe, just what one needs for a holiday and it is very centrally located with many attractions and activities nearby if needed. Highly recommended for people looking for something like this.
The self-catering unit was neat and clean. Merry Pebbles restaurant was conveniently close by with delicious food and friendly service.
The units are very neat and clean. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
A lot to see, peaceful and clean.
It was great. Clean and neat! Beautiful campsite!
Had a great time at Merry Pebbles, breathtaking surroundings, campsite, ablution blocks, restaurant everything is well planned and very tidy, service is great. Will visit again for sure. Thank you to everyone who took part in the care and maintenance of this beautiful resort, Well done.
Will definitely visit again in summer.
We stayed in the Cottage overnight. It is a beautiful unit, recently remodelled and well equipped with all the necessary tools. The owner was very friendly and gave good advice in terms of the surrounding environment and safety tips. Merry Pebbles is ideal for children with the playground, trampoline and pedal cars. We will definitely return to Merry Pebbles.
Very nice and quiet place for relaxation.
I just felt that the warm temperature for the geyser was extremely low and this cause an inconvenience through the stay.
Very pleasant accommodation. The resort is neat and well maintained. The pool is refreshing and clean. Good resort for a weekend getaway.
We have been holidaying here with family since I was little and at school, so many beautiful memories. Will always keep coming back, it's a place where you can rest and switch off from the busy city life. Will always refer people here.
Well, after all these years Merry Pebbles remains the best place to stay in Sabie, the natural beauty and place to sleep and is highly recommendable to everyone along the river. Only 1 thing needs to be corrected, the grills are too small for the fire bricks.
Rooms weren't very clean and felt dirty. The braai area needs to be adjusted. Grid doesn't fit on the braai. But besides that, we enjoyed it, the river and mountain views absolutely stunning.
Everything was great! We will definitely be there again in December 2019!
Lots of stuff for the kids to do, clean, tidy, friendly, safe. Only problem - accommodation was too short.
It's centrally located to visit the most beautiful waterfalls and just drive around.
We camped at Merry Pebbles and had a lovely stay. It is a beautiful, neat and clean place. The ablution facilities are clean. The camp grill impractical and must pack bricks to grill. The restaurant has some of the best pizzas around. Will definitely come here again for a holiday.
Quiet, safe environment to break away from everything that makes you unhappy. New fresh thought with the amazing view when you get up from your tent. Excellent service, fully recommend for a next getaway weekend or holiday.
Great weekend getaway with kids. There are swimming pools, mini golf, chess sets, climbing frames and fishing facilities. Cottages are small but well appointed.
Excellent place, will definitely come again.
One of the better camps that I have visited. Very high standards are kept. Good management.
Bedding and blankets are old, need to upgrade on that for sure. Otherwise the rest is 100%.
It was nice and peaceful.
Thank you very much for a peaceful and safe environment with clean facilities. I will holiday there again and recommend to others and to visit all the waterfalls. It's an experience!
Quiet, beautiful surroundings and tidy gardens. House was clean and comfortable and nice and spacious. Got good service. Just had a problem with small black ants in the kitchen.
Green grass for children, nice playground, very neat and clean, we enjoyed it a lot and will definitely go camping there again.
Beautiful campsite. Very tidy, large campsites with lovely lawns and power points. Clean facilities and very decent ablution blocks. Would recommend this resort anytime.
Had a very nice caban and very clean. The dish soap just wouldn't lather. Thank you for the daily clean towels and clean dishcloths. The place is extremely neat, but a bit impractical, like the safe is put in the wrong way and very difficult to use. There is no place to put your suitcase and luggage, I just used 2 chairs from outside. We enjoyed the pool, not too hot or too cold (hot tub).
Had a very pleasant and friendly reception. Chalet was very neat and beautiful. Renovation work done lately was very clearly visible. The chalet was also very well equipped with everything we needed. We ate at the restaurant that evening and were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant itself, the service and the food we enjoyed. We will stay there again if we are in the area.
Everything was very nice and quiet. The only complaint we have is that the television did not work as expected. No channels available to watch.
It's a very beautiful and peaceful.
Bathroom is very nice, clean and regularly serviced, but it is very cold in winter. Little space in the showers to keep everything dry. I just think people need to be aware of the fact that there is very little sun in the winter, especially down by the river. It makes the camp terribly cold and we had to get extra warm hats, gloves etc. go shopping Still, I think it's a cute place, but won't go there again in the winter. Summer should be fun.
We as a family really enjoyed it. There was plenty of play space and activities for the children. The place is also nicely located to take day trips from there and see all that the area has to offer.
The houses are very neat and clean. Beautiful setting, would definitely stay there again.
Very nice campsite between the trees, electric point and tap at each pitch, clean ablutions and washing up areas. Would love to stand by the river next time (was just a bit late).
Excellent service. Family holiday. Go every year.
Our family of 4 (2 small children) spent one night in the Plettenberg chalet. It has a lovely location by the river. The chalet has everything you need, but is tight on space. There is indeed a lovely meeting area outside on the stoep and by the braai. Do remember to take your own grill with you. It seems that bugs and mosquitoes can be a problem this close to the river, but on the one night we were there there were no problems. The camping area also looks nice with lovely shade trees and lawns. The hot water pool was a winner, especially with the kids.
I would like something to hang the swim towels on. We used their tumble dryers, but they didn't work at all.
Had a lovely visit, relaxing, rained a lot, just a few spiders in the bathrooms, but still neat and clean. I personally think there should be more light, especially at the bathrooms, seeing that it only works with movement and it switches off when you are done in the bathroom. Other than that, I look forward to our next visit there.
See stars.
The place is beautiful, with lovely gardens and the river flowing through. The cabana was clean and tidy, had everything needed. The braai was impossible to use, the largest grill collapsed on the coals, even the grill provided was too small. We had to go find bricks and pack them to be able to braai. A light at the braai would also help for sure, we had to use a flashlight. The hot pool was cool all weekend, one would expect water to be warm over a busy long weekend. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. Merry Pebbles was close to everything, we could comfortably go and enjoy the waterfalls and other attractions.
We really enjoyed the weekend! It was clean and tidy. The kids were able to enjoy themselves with all the activities there were to do, and even though it was so close to town it felt like you were completely secluded. We were received kindly and the staff were also very helpful. Will definitely make it a habit to vacation there.
Hot pool no use in winter as it is too open.
Park is very neat, but needs a bigger hot water pool and more activities for teenagers.
It was very nice, nice and clean campsite, place for everyone. Excellent facilities, clean and tidy. A negative is that there is a nearby sawmill which was somewhat disturbing during the night, especially when you want silence.
We were greeted kindly upon our arrival. The houses are very neat and clean, neat bathroom and shower. The warm water pool was already closed by 17:30 and no one could swim. There was no grill at the braai area and due to we couldn't grill it, when I called the restaurant to order food, then we couldn't order food because there was a private function. We had to make another plan to get food, unacceptable. I pay for the accommodation and for the use of ALL the facilities on the resort. The next night I had to buy a grill myself to be able to grill. The shower leaked a lot of water and the whole bathroom was flooded very quickly. Only one plate on the duster worked. Everything was quiet in the evenings, very nice stay. If you're going to just relax on the resort, just take a book with you or a few things to occupy yourself. Furthermore, there are many things to do in the area. We will visit again.
The accommodation was always neat and beautiful, was kindly welcomed and made to feel at home. There really isn't much to do inside Merry Pebbles Resort if you don't take a whole sports store with you. We reported a faulty room light on the 2nd day and were assured it would be fixed the next day, but never was. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
We had a wonderful stay even though our accommodation was only in small 'trailer' type units. At least there is everything you need, but some of us took a shower at the ablution facilities because the bathroom is so small. Resort has incredibly fun activities and children enjoyed themselves with bikes and swimming pool. Noise at the resort next door during the day is disturbing.
The unit we slept in is certainly not suitable for a family of 4, especially with two teenagers. Bed was not comfortable at all and the fan in unit was not at all effective in cooling the room.
The stay was very nice, all that bothered me a bit was the fact that the lights in the bathrooms only worked on movement. In the evening if you sit in the bath, for example, the lights go out and you have to move all the time to keep them on. This was a problem as the eyelets didn't pick up everywhere. The same was for small children who then had to go to the toilet, while they were busy the lights went out and they cried because they were scared, to sit there. The lights outside by the dish sinks were the same problem and some of them didn't work. Furthermore, our visit was excellent, thank you.
The town is dirty and very untidy and one feels unsafe to walk there.
We had a nice stay. Friendliness of the host leaves much to be desired.
Unfit at reception on arrival.
Excellent accommodation. Best camping place in Sabie.
It's a wonderful place to forget your sorrows and just relax. A bit of constructive criticism is that there is only one bath in the whole caravan park which makes it quite difficult for moms and toddlers when it's bath time.
I have always read about Merry Pebbles in WEG. I finally decided to check it out and what a pleasant surprise it was! Everyone always talks about a place where they went on vacation every year. Well, I got a place like that now too! Merry Pebbles has everything kids and adults could ask for. I definitely want to make this an annual institution. The place was clean, safe and quiet.
Thank you very much LekkeSlaap for your good service and helpfulness, will definitely use you again in the future.
We had a lovely time in this beautiful place and we will be returning.
We had to wait for them to clean our room upon our arrival. Apart from the swimming pools and chess and putt-putt there is not much to do at the resort. Just have to collect games to pass the time.
Great place to unwind and allow the children to play in safe fun areas. Also great for couples to get away and have a relaxed experience together.
Customer service great. Modern accommodation in a breathtaking setting.
Neat and clean, just cold!
With the rain, a tree and branches fell. Merry Pebbles staff were very helpful and accommodating in resolving issues experienced. Our stay, as always was pleasant, facilities clean and all staff from security and cleaners, grounds-men and office staff all friendly and willing to help where needed.
Great family vacation!
Beautiful nature. Friendly people.
Very childfriendly. Neat.
Very neat resort, perfect for a lovely break. Friendly staff and your accommodation is very well serviced. Delicious food at the restaurant and the best craft beer! Will go again for sure.
I cannot be objective because we stayed for only one night and it was winter. The bedrooms were however very small.
We stayed 4 nights (not during school holiday) at Merry Pebbles and it was so peaceful and quiet. It's an old favourite because we use to go on holiday there when we were children. Plettenburg was stunning, on the river, and though it can be a bit small we had a wonderful time. Our kids were in tears when we had to leave - swimming pools, place to play, trampolines, endless space for cycling, and playing in the rivier, they simply loved it! We will definitely be back soon.
A good place to ride the Panoramaroute.
Merry Pebbles is awesome, thank you very much for everything.
Lovely place to rest in the summer. The cottage we stayed in was a bit cramped for 4 people and maintenance is needed, especially in the bathroom. Not enough warm blankets for the winter. The cottage is not set up for winter. The cleaning people have a bit long fingers as some of our food disappeared after they were there.
Very nice place, wasn't really cold either even though it was the middle of winter. Drakensberg units nice, but very small for the money one pays. Will come again if the price is right.
Simple, safe and lots to do. The kids loved the hot pool.
Beautiful grass sites, beautiful scenery. Neat clean ablutions, with someone cleaning all day. Swimming pools are clean and tidy. Will definitely camp there again. Lots to see and do in the area.
Please see the stars.
Beautiful surroundings and very neat facilities.
One of the best places for a holiday. Close enough to all the major attractions in the area, as well as the Kruger National Park. The restaurant's food is top notch.
It was wonderful to camp among the trees and the children could ride bikes and swim.
Nice resort, great amenities. Central location.
Accommodation was large enough to serve as an overnight destination as we toured the area during the day. The self-catering facilities were very good, always clean and tidy.
Everything was clean and working, although the house itself was very cold.
Will camp there again.
It was very nice, I would like to stay longer next time. Very nice by the river and the bathrooms are very clean and tidy. Thank you very much.
Such a nice caravan, peaceful, and clean bathfooms. Friendly staff.
Enjoyed the stay. Good meal in the restaurant.
Everything is neat and clean and very comfortable.
There is a safety risk for small children as there are no gates to the swimming pool. And the rooms are rather small.
The campsite is comfortable with clean bathroom facilities. Rather bring your own braai. Very noisy at night, sounds like machines in production. Warm water pool is closed late afternoon.
As a home base to visit the surrounding attractions, this is perfect.
We would definitely recommend Merry Pebbles.
Als available to make the holiday break a relaxed success.
Merry Pebbles is certainly a resort we will visit again, next time maybe just a little longer than a weekend. The resort is incredibly well maintained. The restaurant is a great asset and the meals were really of a very high quality. I definitely recommend Merry Pebbles to anyone looking for a quality place to stretch out. This resort is ideal for family gatherings.
Great camping experience and clean ablution facilities.
We really enjoyed camping at Merry Pebbles. The ablution facilities were neat and there were many activities for the children to keep them busy.
Clean bathrooms, most beautiful river running through the resort, green grass, lots of trees, perfect!
The children did not see a person with an eye. They and we enjoyed it very much.
Everything was great, except that the braai vleis bowls and pots didn't arrive until 5:00 pm in the afternoon. After I ask the lady why only now, she replies: "I'm busy". It's unacceptable, because I had to put my barbecue meat in ice cream trays after I barbecued. Afterwards, the other cleaners came and laughed at me for inquiring about the bins not arriving until 5pm, even though I had been in the unit since 2pm. It's unacceptable.
We had a great time camping at Merry Pebbles! It is a beautiful site with good facilities. Would go back anytime!
An excellently located resort with excellent facilities. Recommended for longer stays. Chalet somewhat cramped but very well equipped, neat and clean.
Thank you very much for a pleasant experience and friendly customer service during our stay at Merry Pebbles. We will be happy to use the resort again. Thank you very much!
Neat, beautiful and delicious. Beautiful place.
Will definitely stay there again!
We often like to book a weekend away just to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and having camped at Merry Pebbles quite a bit in the past and being so pleased with the place, I recommended my wife look there for accommodation . We haven't been married long, so we NEVER book accommodation that doesn't have a double bed. I would add that the advertisement on LekkeSlaap clearly shows that the unit in question has a double bed. Great was our disappointment when we checked in on the Friday evening and found 2 single beds! We were in unit no.4. On Saturday morning we went to reception to take it up with the staff, whereupon Leon, who spoke to us, said he could move us to a unit that had not been upgraded for a long time if we were looking for a double bed. Is moving a double bed too much trouble? We then also mentioned to him that the sink in the bathroom drains very slowly, so much so that when you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth, the water fills the sink before you finish. It was still not fixed by Monday when we left. It remains a beautiful place for me and I always relax very nicely there, and I have to say that the units look really nice and tidy inside. However, I wish management would cater to our needs. I will still recommend the place if I know that people's needs and complaints will be attended to.
It was a nice getaway for the weekend. The house was spacious and tidy. The only complaint we had was the quality of the double bed.
Me and my family as well as my parents were on a long road trip through the country. Merry Pebbles was recommended by friends who camped there. The lodge is very cold in the winter, especially the downstairs bedroom where damp seeps through the walls. The bed covers are really filthy dirty. The bedding also calls for renewal; the carpets are also old. The cleaning service is thorough. The resort offers very good facilities.
Very neat, comfortable, spacious, clean, hospitable, very good customer service!
I would return again and yes, we would definitely recommend it to others.
Fantastic atmosphere and an absolute adventure. Would go back again anytime and recommend it to everyone.
We had a great stay at Merry Pebbles. The house was neatly and beautifully furnished and the staff friendly.
The place was very neat and clean; will definitely vacation there again!
There is plenty to do in the resort and surrounding areas.
The accommodation is value for money. The shower curtain is a bit of a pain because it is made of a thin material that lets the water through. The rest of the stay was fantastic.
Really had an incredible time there. The only inconvenience was that there was no microwave in the unit. With small children it is really difficult to heat up milk or food on a 2 plate stove. Would really appreciate a microwave in the room next time.
Merry Pebbles is a nice break-away destination where you can relax and enjoy spending time together. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and had no complains other than the inside felt very dark and unwelcoming. Our room was very clean but needed a bit of a make over. The décor feels like something from the 70's. Overall a very nice resort, friendly people and staff. Pool is very kept well.
Nice camping, facilities clean and tidy. despite rainy weather.
Nice stay. The cottage smelled musty, otherwise it was very cute. The staff is very friendly and helpful! It was perfect to stay next to the water stream.
Very nice, clean and peaceful week. Children had a feast, hardly saw them.
Merry Pebbles is a nice, friendly place to visit. It served our purposes excellently - bonding with family friends - and we really enjoyed the privacy we needed. Unfortunately we are those people who are loud when we are enjoying and we were not allowed to play music and felt attacked by nearby mates for that. If you know you prefer loud music and long chats over the night...then we'd advise you to look somewhere else. Otherwise it's a nice place :)
The resort is situated as an ideal base for visiting the different areas. The resort caters for children and the environment is safe and clean.
Had a very relaxed holiday! Very clean and neat with friendly reception.
Well maintained family resort with lots of potential! There is plenty to do for both young and old. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay close to nature!
Merry Pebbles Resort is a lovely venue, and would be perfect if it were not for the constant noise of a nearby factory. Also, the arrival & departure could be more personal than just a greeting & receiving/returning of keys.
Excellent, clean, friendly and great value for money. Everyone should visit!
