My preferred destination in the Bonnievale area! The tranquility of a working farm with a well-equipped cottage and a jovial host and hostess among vineyards and Persimmon orchards.
In 10 years of traveling in and around Bonnievale and testing out almost all the guesthouses in the area, I have come to the conclusion that Merwespont is the top destination for me. Excellently equipped for holiday or business trips, a hospitable country lady who is happy to spoil you, all in a peaceful farm atmosphere. I just keep going back. Thank you!
We were two families with small children who stayed in one of the units for the weekend - there was enough space and privacy for everyone. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the farm, but also the warm friendliness of our hostess. The river was just far/near enough for the kids to frolic, and that we didn't have to worry about their safety. The hostess also makes sure everyone is aware of the safety aspects of the river and the activities there. We had a great time and can highly recommend it.
We as a family had a great time. Nice, comfortable house with everything we needed. Ronell is a very good hostess.
The accommodation was very basic, but that's all we needed. Ronelle was very friendly and helpful, and so was her husband, Willem. The river is close to the guest houses and access to the river is quite easy, even for small children.
