We were able to walk in the fields around the accommodation to see the most amazing flowers and variety, also the bird life was exceptional.
The accommodation is in a cottage with a particularly beautiful location in the flower field. Living facilities are very neat and clean.
Hosts Johan and Magriet were very friendly, helpful and informative. Cottage was neat and clean with everything you need.
Comfortable house on the N7. Bathroom forms part of the one bedroom with no privacy. Can be problematic. Very nice outdoor barbecue surrounded by a branch screen.

Middelkraal was a convenient place to stay for the Namaqua spring flowers. The cottage was comfortable and clean, hostesses were very friendly and accommodating. On the downside, we felt that the prices charged for dinner and breakfast were somewhat excessive. The food was tasty and well presented, but basic for the price. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Olea cottage was simply superb! Warm, cosy, well equipped, it was the perfect base to explore the flowers in Namaqualand. Johan and Magrieta made us feel so welcome, checking in on us, making travel suggestions (including seeing the snow in Leliesfontein!) and providing the most delicious dinner. Great value for money, highly recommended.
The place is great located, very private and very friendly hosts! The treat with toast and jam was extra special!
The two cottages in which we stayed on the farm are beautifully situated, extremely clean and tidy, fully equipped and tastefully furnished. The owners welcomed us and provided valuable information on attractions etc in the area. It was a wonderful experience; definitely some of the best places to stay during our nine day flower holiday!
Given the distance from the town and the few opportunities the town offers anyway to get your own meals (especially if you can only arrive in the late afternoon/early evening), the location was practically speaking not very ideal for us. (Meals can be obtained as an optional extra on the farm, but at a hefty price per person on top of an already hefty accommodation rate, the cost was just too high). However, the main house where we booked the room was my grandmother's house in earlier years; therefore I attached sentimental value to the venue. However, the rate is far too high for what the room offers (despite the separate lounge and the covered patio area for the guests).

Olea can accommodate up to 2 adults and comprises 1 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The Clay Cottage has a private lapa and is situated on the banks of Drietiersfontein waterhole. This waterhole, which is a true haven for various Namakwaland birds, was originally a stone quarry that was used to construct the first dirt road to the North. Embellished with remnants of an outdoor oven for baking bread as well as the oven in which the clay bricks that assembled the Olea cottage were produced. Some further fragments of history that remain on this dwelling is a threshing floor and a kraal for mules enclosed with a stone wall.
