24 guests' feedbackIt was an amazing experience. Loved the accommodation and the bush, it was more than we hoped for. My daughter absolutely loved all the board games, table tennis and Smart TV. We were also very lucky to see so many animals. Thank you.
Amazing, the place was stunning.
We really enjoyed the weekend! A beautiful, clean and everything you need place that I would recommend to anyone anytime.
Great place to stay. We had a wonderful relaxing time with our family.
Great stay, everything we needed was in the house. Have a nice visit home! We would definitely recommend.
Very nice, fully equipped house with all the amenities for a great stay. Only downside is it is a far drive to all the main attractions Mabalingwe has to offer.
We enjoyed our stay. We were a bit concerned about our safety.
Unfortunately, in one room we discovered maggots in the bedding, and this was a very unpleasant experience. There was no spare linen, and the cleaner was not very helpful. It was only when we took it upon ourselves to move the furniture that we discovered the source. We also washed the bedding ourselves after being informed by the cleaner that she could not get the stains out. I appreciate that cleaning is not the most rewarding occupation and would therefore recommend that regular hygiene checks are carried out by a supervisor.
We enjoyed the house very much. William is very helpful. Nice big house and rooms are one side of the house, also enjoyed the air fryer and ice machine. The house has everything needed. Will be back again.
We were super impressed with the facility. Turned out even better than we anticipated and the service from the resident housekeeper William was stunning. We wished we could have stayed longer the facility was so lovely and in summer it must be even more wonderful.
Perfect place for family and relatives to rest. Very private and well equipped. We will definitely use Milkwood again.
Wonderful holiday in the bushveld. A special thanks to William. Made sure every day that everything was in order at the lodge. Will definitely stay there again.
Very nice lodge with a lot of potential, needs a little maintenance for the price you pay. It's in Elandsfontein, so it's far from the main center of Mabalingwe. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and the surroundings around the lodge are beautiful.
Would definitely recommend Milkwood, really a stunning place!
Milkwood Safari Lodge is a beautiful place to visit in the heart of the bushveld. Everything you need and well furnished. We really enjoyed it and had a great time. Just pack enough Doom & Peaceful Sleep.
We arrived at 5 in the afternoon on the day of checking in after being asked to delay our 14:00 planned arrival as the previous guests had not checked out on time and cleaning was still in process. On arrival we found the property still being occupied by 14 very unpleasant people and all their stuff! The management was no where to be seen and we had to tell these disgruntled people in no uncertain terms to get out. Cleaning was hurriedly going on around them in an effort to get the place ready for us. This crowd also made off with some of the swim towels and all the bathroom toiletries! This property is really well planned and has lots to offer. The furniture in the lounge is in dire need of replacement, as both the sofas have seen better days. We also found a lot of the glassware and crockery chipped or cracked and that for a house that sleeps 12, there were only 9 forks and 6 spoons! I asked the manager Lynette to sort this out, which she did quite quickly the next day. I booked and paid for daily cleaning on arrival, but was only informed on the public holiday that no service will be done (money was refunded). Also, despite asking cleaning staff to pick up rubbish around the house, my niece still collected a whole bag of rubbish next to the walkways - empty custard cartons, bread bags, foil and cigarette butts everywhere! The game drive vehicle also was left full of rubbish and with no fuel. I think that the management of the property can improve a lot - they did bring us extra toilet paper late one afternoon on request - but this was asked from the cleaning staff during the day and never actioned at the time. Despite a good turn around response on all the issues from Lynette, I feel that for this kind of premium property, these things should not even be an issue. I don't have cracked and chipped plates and cups at home, why should this be acceptable in paying accommodation? I would suggest the owners have a visit and make some improvements!
On arrival there was a misunderstanding about keys and we had to wait, but the rest of the weekend was a feast. Children enjoyed themselves and the house was tidy and very practical. Would really appreciate it.
Lynette and Henry spared no effort to give us the necessary directions and we could contact them at any time if we needed any help. We were able to spend time with our family in great privacy without the staff looking over our shoulders. Would love to stay there again, but for a longer time. Thanks for everyone's prompt service.
The lodge is really well appointed and set up. We found that it was difficult to locate and communication and directions from the host were not given until we eventually called because we were lost. We landed up entering Mabalingwe through the main gate only to find out that we could have entered through Elandsfontein gate. That would have cut our travel time down by about an hour!
Nice, beautiful and safe.
I inquired if there was enough big wine glasses for 10 adults. I was assured there was assured that their was 10 big wine glasses 10 small wine glasses and 10 champagne glasses. When we arrived there was only 5 wine glasses in total and all different shapes and sizes. I phoned the manager and she bough wine glasses and dropped them of. We ordered and paid for 20 bags and wood. It was only delivered to us after I again phoned and asked where the wood is. Was delivered after 17:30. We arranged for a cleaning service for Saturday morning at 10:00. I phoned at 12:30 to inquire about this and then send someone later in the day. It would have been lovely if I didn’t have to phone for everything that I had arranged prior to arrival.
The lodge was not cleaned by check in time and beds were only made around 6 pm, making packing out our luggage etc. challenging. There was a shortage of bed linen and towels. There was not enough coffee mugs per room in the bedrooms. The ice machine did not work. The table tennis bats were extremely old and broken. The pool was dirty on arrival. There were three wine glasses when the place sleeps 12. Overall experience was not great, but the facilities are good if properly managed and maintained.
Excellent facilities, all the necessities included. Great atmosphere for spending quality time.
The accommodation was excellent and everything that was promised had been there. The place was very neat and luxurious. We didn't realize that the sleeping area was separate from the living area, which was a bit tricky in the evening with small children. It was truly a peaceful luxury forest stay, just a pity that the wildlife in Mabalingwe is not so abundant. Unfortunately we didn't see the elephants or rhinos, otherwise we basically saw everything.
