25 guests' feedbackIt rained most of the weekend, but we had a good rest. The fire burned all weekend. Full DStv package is a bonus, the house has everything needed. Pet friendly and comfortable.

Some areas around the house need some attention, especially the entry door and the door in the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen utensil could also be added. Other a good stay and nice proximity to the beach.
Didn't like the smell of the place. Only half of the electric blanket was working, the other part didn't even go on. Had no water since Friday night up until Saturday morning. And not even one courtesy call from the office.
We had a great time. But hey, it's a self-catering unit and the kitchen's fittings leave a lot to be desired. Missing are: braai bowls, braai tongs, vegetable peeler, a pot that can cook for 4 people (it's a unit for 4 guests) and sharp knives. I was so excited about the fireplace (actually booked the unit for it because it was cold) but if you don't make a massive fire in it, then all the smoke pushes into the house. We had to keep the door open because we were suffocating from the smoke and it was so cold. So we weren't too impressed with that. I have to say, the water was deliciously hot in the unit, no complaints there. Thank you.
House was very cold with cement floors. Would advise maybe putting in a gas heater or a panel heater. The downstairs room didn't have an electric blanket so it was very cold, maybe a feather duvet would make a difference. At least there were hot water bags for the lower room. Otherwise we had a great time, cute little place.
Was ideally located in relation to distance from the sea. Perfect place to use as a base to experience Paternoster's restaurants, beaches and quiet.
Really enjoyed our stay, we thought that Milky Way was good value for money, the WiFi was poor.
Not so happy with service from Stay in Paternoster. Not the most friendly or helpfull (also, this is the first establishment, ever, that we had to pay 100% before even arriving and seeing what we have - this should be addressed). Our unit was not serviced per the 7 day or more agreement, until we mentioned this to Stay in Paternoster. I have not received our R500 breakage fee yet. I have not followed up, but this should have been returned now (2 weeks since we checked out and nothing was broken!). A Little bit of maintenance required (Weber braai on its last legs), weeds to be removed, otherwise nothing major.
Nice and close to the beach for a morning walk.
The cottage is nice and close to the beach. It is clean, luxurious and tidy! Could possibly swap the Weber for a smaller braai (this is impractical). An umbrella and some chairs for the veranda would also be a plus. Bed upstairs needs attention. Thank you very much. We and woof really enjoyed it!
Don't think we'll just go again. Would rather go to Jacobs Bay. Residents are friendly and you feel safe.
Need another blanket or heaters in the rooms.
It was an absolute pleasure to enter the accommodation. It was totally worth it.
Light switch upstairs needs repair. Rubber on upstairs door needs repair. Shower head rusted and leaking into wall. Mold upstairs on walls. There is no sea view, advert slightly misleading but still private and close enough to sea not to be an issue.

Milky Way is a beautiful house and 4 people can stay comfortably in it. The decor is beautiful and it is very well located as it is walking distance from the beach. The only "negative" criticism is that there is no oven or washing machine and that the kitchen sink is very impractical. It's beautiful but in this case they didn't think about the practical aspect of it. It's just one porcelain sink with a faucet that either sprays right over the top or has to tap in very slowly. So it is difficult to wash and rinse dishes.
Fantastic getaway, piece of happiness of a place. It's located near the sea with your own footpath down to the beach, it makes you feel like you're overseas in a dream town like Santorini with the white houses close to each other and clean beach. The DStv and WiFi was definitely a bonus.
The shutter in the bathroom was broken when we got there, and the bedding had a damp sea smell. Everything else was very convenient.
Milky Way is a wonderful guesthouse in Paternoster, almost on the beach. The guesthouse is attractively furnished, spacious (2 bathrooms!) and well equipped (wifi, satellite TV) in a cute little town full of white houses. In bad weather (fog/rain) Paternoster does not have much to offer.
We had a nice stay there.

Milky Way is pet friendly and has a once-off pet fee of R200.00 per pet.
Key- and breakage deposit:
Key- and breakage deposit is payable with the deposit for the booking and refundable by bank transfer within 5 - 7 working days after departure, once the house has been scrutinised and all found in order. Please note that the key deposit will be retained and additional charges imposed if more guests than booked are found to be utilising the premises. Please furnish us with your banking details on arrival. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances unless the key and breakage deposit has been received.
Minimum stay required:
2 nights in low and mid-season
3 nights over long weekends
4 nights over Easter weekend
7 nights in high season
Guests must first visit our offices to check in and get their keys.
When entering Paternoster, turn left at the four-way stop. The 'Stay in Paternoster' office is situated about 75m further, on the right-hand side of the road, at 87 St. Augustine Road.
