11 guests' feedbackWould be great if the owners could invest in an inverter, and have matches/lighters available in the house.
We could not stay at Mingwe Private Game Lodge as there was no power and water, after confirming that everything was in order. We were then accommodated at Itaga View. Although it was very nice and tidy, the three levels were not practical for a family with small children. Furthermore, the next morning we could not get the Trelidoor open as the key was not on our bunch of keys. This is a major concern if one has to evacuate the room quickly for whatever reason. When I called the owner, she hung up and left a message, "I'll call you back", which has not happened until now.
Overall great stay, a beautiful and accessible spot. The game rangers were better than expected. The food and service at the restaurant were good. Two small hints: the map from reception is numbered with the prefix 7 when it should be 6, i. e our unit was 621 but on the map, it was 721. On our last day, our checkout was at 10 but the cleaning lady arrived at 7:30, it's preferable especially on check out that she arrives at 10 or later.
House looks old and neglected. We didn't have hot water, and the manager didn't come back to me until later. I didn't get instructions of where the key is. We locked ourselves out of two of the rooms and were told there were no spare keys and we had to sort it out ourselves. Luckily we were able to get the doors open. The barbecue is rusted, the dishwasher leaks and the furniture looks dilapidated. The place does not look at all like in the photos.
There was no water when we arrived, and the manager failed to inform us about this. Our children could not use the toilet or take a shower for a day and a half. Additionally, some of the lights in the rooms were not working.
Services are excellent. Accommodation is very neat. Oh if only was 100%.
It was a very nice relaxing weekend. I only wish we could have stayed longer, 2 nights was definitely not enough!
Nice space to hang out and privacy for each room.
As always I can recommend Mingwe for anyone wishing to spend some time in the bush. Love it. Will be back in the park asap!
The house has a great location and it's safe and comfortable for families and small kids.
There was no instruction regarding the keys. Faucets leak, walls are dirty, bedding is old and torn in places, fittings in bathrooms are crooked or gone, there is no place or indication where full black bags can be put, knife and fork drawers are very messy and untidy. Game viewer was in terrible condition and that for R800 a day! Half of the exterior lights on paths don't work. One of the double showers only had cold water. No WiFi password is given, we had to call. Dishcloths at the sink were dirty. Half-empty bottles of soap by sinks, leave them instead.

House rules
Breakage deposits will be refunded 5-7 days after check-out. It is the guest’s responsibility to provide us with banking details for the refund.Parties, as well as loud noise and disturbances after 22:00, are not allowed. During the day, music is allowed for your ears only. If a valid noise complaint is received and verified by security, you will be charged immediately by way of credit card or cash. Refusal to comply will result in guests being asked to leave the property and reserve immediately. Guests will not be entitled to a refund or partial refund.
A game drive vehicle is available on request at an additional cost.
Housekeeping is available on request at an additional cost.
Rubbish to be kept in the lodge or bins provided, and rubbish will be removed when housekeeping services are booked.
Please refrain from moving furniture around except for pool loungers and folding chairs. This damages the deck. Non-compliance will result in a charge from your security deposit.
All doors and windows to be closed when not in residence.
All windows to be closed and all doors to be locked on departure.
Lodge keys are not allowed to be removed from the property and have to be locked in the key safe, even if you are going on a game drive.
Fire is only allowed in the designated areas; braai and boma.
Firewood for the boma and braai area can be pre-ordered for delivery at the lodge at an additional cost per bag.
No firewood to be collected from the veld. Fines may apply.
Beer bottles, caps, cigarette butts etc thrown in the veld will be cleaned at a charge of R500.
Any damages caused by non-adherence will be charged to guests directly.
Some roads in the reserve are not tarred, and it is recommended to use a vehicle with a high clearance when possible.
