Mirkwood Cottage @ Rivendell Trout Estate is a charming self-catering cottage nestled amongst other units, situated on the banks of the fast-flowing Spekboom River, which is regularly stocked with rainbow trout within the Rivendell Trout Estate. This estate is part of the Mount Anderson Water Catchment Reserve, a vast conservancy that spans thousands of hectares. The reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including kudu, bushbuck, duiker, bush pigs, and baboons, which roam freely throughout the area. Visitors can often observe these animals grazing peacefully while they enjoy fly fishing for trout.

This cottage can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. There is also a kiddie's room furnished with a bunk bed. Linen and towels are provided.

The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It features a lovely dining space and further opens to the lounge furnished with comfy couches and a cosy fireplace.

The unit opens up to a patio with outdoor furniture, perfect for alfresco dining. This property is situated en route to the Kruger National Park and is centrally located for day visits to destinations such as Dullstroom, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Sudwala Caves, and Pilgrim's Rest.
