Not a holiday resort, suitable for business overnight. Everything I needed in the cabin. The sliding gate to the street could not close and this made me uneasy. Nice central in Hoedspruit.
A place with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, my room's toilet and shower were leaking, and the wood around the toilet was rotting. The bathroom also has a stench of mold and urine. But other than that, it was a decent stay.
No, very noisy and the little things are out of place. Refrigerator is frozen, bathroom hand soap is on the windowsill behind worn blinds. Toilet leaks water on the floor. Shower has no soap dispenser. Had to ask for toilet paper.
We were only looking for a place to sleep for 2 nights and it was sufficient.

Hostess was on site and received us kindly - was willing for us to come back soon after our bike ride, if it was after check-out time, and take a shower before we continued our journey.
The room was well equipped for an overnight stay. We wanted to shower on Saturday in the cold, foggy weather, but there was not enough hot water.
Acceptable for my purposes, but there are no 2-pin wall sockets so couldn't recharge my mobile. There is no provision for electricity during load shedding. There was no one available for any inquiries or service.

The room had everything I needed, the place was spotless, the bed was so comfortable and the people were very helpful. Will come here not only for business but for vacations as well.
Hoedspruit is a nice getaway place. Lots to see and sometimes just a nice surprise or 2 just around the corner from where we visited. Clean town.
For my needs it is great.
We spent the night there as a group of girlfriends and it was really wonderful. The people made us feel welcome. We will definitely use Mist of Gold again.

Everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Centrally located and safe environment.
Although cheap accommodation can be dodgy, this place is well located in a seemingly safe area, it is within walking distance of shops and restaurants, and the room itself was well appointed and spacious. I stayed over en route to Orpen gate and found this a perfect place. I will certainly use them again.
The units are neat. The staff working there are friendly. Units are centrally located in terms of the town. The owner could not be bothered for a second to answer questions. Our gate remote didn't work, and she only changed it after 24 hours. She was unresponsive to messages and when I initially called her the first question was if our bill was paid in full. I was also told that not every unit gets a gate remote, which is absolutely bogus, because the parking is behind the gate, so it is less than desirable.
The cutlery and cleaning supplies may only be looked at.
Good option for good price.

The room was neat, just awfully hot. The caretaker came to help with air conditioner without success. There is no place to put your suitcase/luggage. Outside light on porch did not work, as well as the one bedside light also outside operation. Bathroom sink very small with tiny taps. Maybe it's okay if you're used to camping.
We enjoyed it very much. Comfortable, spacious accommodation in a lovely peaceful neighbourhood. Close to centers.

Neat, clean rooms. A type of soap in the bathroom and extra toilet rolls will help. We did get upgraded to the bigger room and believe that's why it wasn't there. Could have a good barbecue.
Very neat and comfy little log home situated in a lush green garden. Although official book in time was 14h00 - 17h00, we were running late. Our host provided me with a number for Ryan, who welcomed us at 19h30 on a rainy Sunday night. We enjoyed a comfy nights rest and departed very early the next morning (05h00) for the Kruger Park. Thanx to Ryan for receiving us late, and sending us on our way early. You made us feel welcome.

We arranged a quick overnight stay in Hoedspruit for a function we had to attend. Mist of Gold was very good value for money, beautifully clean, comfortable with a very nice big bed (and nice pillows).

Was lovely. Would have just preferred to have coffee in the room. The breakfast was delicious and very filling.
There was no one there when we arrived. We had to call the owners, they were on a golf day. We had to go out and when we came back the guest parking was full and we had to call the owners to open the gate for us. They were clearly not happy that we were sending them. There is also no mirror in the bathroom. Just a mock up hand mirror.

Mist of Gold is conveniently located in Hoesdpruit, the log cabin is well kept and clean. For a weekend away at an affordable price I would definitely recommend it.
We only slept there for one night on our way to the Wildlife Park. Everything was clean and tidy. Bed and bedding comfortable and clean. The shower needs attention (we brought it to the owner's attention) and unfortunately there was a dog that started barking before dawn and never stopped for at least three hours. We reported it too.
On arrival we did not know where to enter and had to call owner to find out. Owner sent someone to help us. All the problems and questions were quickly answered and otherwise it was pleasant. Just need washing facilities for braai stuff with faucet to rinse and put out fires.
The cabin was clean and well serviced as was the bedding, linen and towels.
I like the place, it's beautiful and peaceful. Would stay there again anytime.

The booking was for two persons but there was only one bath towel and one towel. No place eto put the soap. Also cockroaches.
I think there needs to be some maintenance and repairs to the bathroom in the unit. Also, a lock on the outside gate would be preferred. Other than that I had a very enjoyable stay.

The place was a wendy house in a back yard. The photos are very deceiving. The pool is not easily accessible. The owner had no idea we were booked in and the place was not ready for us when we got there.
We were friendly an professionally received by Dawie Donderbos and felt at home immediately. The room was very clean and neat and comfortable. It is located fairly central. We will make use of this accommodation again.
Mist of Gold was very easy to find, conveniently close to other facilities and the main road. Parking might be a problem when all of the units are occupied. Breakfast is advertised but is not part of the package. We enjoyed the accommodation and will consider it again when we are in the area.
Reception when we arrived was a bit disorganized - you don't know where to go and where to check in.
This is value for money, it clean and in a quiet part of town. It could do with an extra chair on the veranda as there was only one on ours and it would be nice to have DStv, even a limited version, as the local have nothing to offer on the weekend. Otherwise well done we would come again.
Owner or manager was not available at any time during our stay. Accommodation is neat but we just felt that there is a lack of management and interest in the business.

Only stayed one night and did not have breakfast due to time constraints, nevertheless a very nice overnight stay. Place is neat, clean, room has fridge, AC, TV, tea/coffee facilities, comfortable bed, and shower in bathroom. Had a restful evening. Would definitely recommend.

We used the B&B for overnight purposes. One must bear in mind that it is actually an overnight stay and is therefore not intended for a luxury holiday.
It was not unpleasant, but there were problems such as the fact that there is only a curtain between the bedroom part and bathroom. There is no shelf in the bathroom, so we couldn't put the toothpaste cap or bathroom glass somewhere. There was no sink either, just a ceramic dish without a rim.
Danie didn't even remember we were booked for that day.
It was a struggle to get someone at reception. The room had not been cleaned during our weekend stay. We could not have breakfast or dinner as the restaurant was closed. There was no dustbins outside to throw away our rubbish. So sorry, but I was not satisfied.
The owner questioned our reservation, which is the last thing you want to hear after traveling 500km. We paid R600 for the night - I don't think it's value for money. The room's carpet was dirty. The duvet cover was broken. The pillows were very old, there were no hangers to hang our clothes and there were no chairs in the room. The board under the mattress made the bed very uncomfortable to sleep on.

We were really very satisfied with everything. However, we recommend that each cabin's people should receive their own key for the gate and that the gate should be locked at night, for safety. We will definitely recommend the place to our friends.

I would definitely recommend Mist of Gold. It's close enough to Pretoria/Jhb to break away for a weekend. A beautiful garden is maintained, and it was lovely to be able to stay there. Amenities clean and adequate.
