We had a very nice stay. The braai facilities and some of the kitchen utensils could be upgraded a bit.
Nice stay, but the building is unsafe and very poorly maintained. I will definitely not stay there again.
Apartment is quite central and has nice views of Table Mountain and the sea. Didn't like that we were even expected to park a rental car outside in front of the building though. At least we were assigned a closed garage. Power outages were really a bad experience as no backup is provided, no gas or extra battery light. We had to climb stairs several times for 6 floors. We also couldn't use TV at all as we couldn't get reception and it was quite bad. A little feeling that one pays a lot for basic amenities.
Agent was friendly although we never met him in person. Arrangements with key collection and garage were very confused. Garage door broken. Very nice view. Very little kitchen equipment (see someone already complained about it in January and it's still not fixed - not even an egg spatula). Windows were not clean (for R350 cleaning services you at least expect the best service.) Apartment appears larger in photos than it really is. Good location though and had a nice stay there.
Problems accessing property on arrival. Unlocking procedure delayed due to contact problem with owner. Photos show the exact apartment contents. But all the furniture including the following: viz. in the bedroom: the bed, the painting of the built-in cupboards, the bedroom floor covering, wall plugs and in the kitchen: the incomplete range of crockery and cutlery needs sprucing up. Good photography creates a false impression of the apartment surface; the photo image of apartment appears to be more spacious than the reality.

The kitchen appliance and crockery are very few. eg no egg yolk.
Location was good (but lots of cars driving up and down making a lot of noise which prevents you from hearing the sea clearly). Unit was neat and modern. Building smelled very badly of smoke. There was load shedding and we have to carry all our bags up the stairs to the 6th floor. Would have appreciated if the owner could say there is going to be load shedding. Could have planned better then. Hair found between sheets. Balcony was not clean. Some of the kitchenware was dirty. No extra warm blankets.
Modern 1 was the perfect apartment for me and my partner. The view of the beach was picture perfect, and the sound of the waves is like music to your ears. Would definitely recommend it.
