19 guests' feedbackThe lodge is quite difficult to get to because of the very poor condition of the roads. Once there, however, the lodge itself is comfortable and set in a tranquil environment right next to the river. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We visited the small research centre on the property and found it very informative. We were based here because we wanted to visit Mapungubwe - but this again involves a fairly lengthy drive on very poor roads.
Some of the rooms don't have air conditioning (average temperature was 44 degrees Celsius). Being the only guests at the lodge, we were given a free upgrade to a room that had air conditioning. The rooms do not have a TV or mini fridge. The bed was nice. There are no restaurants or shops nearby, and units are not equipped for self-catering, so you are fully dependent on their restaurant while there. We were not given any menus from their restaurant but were just basically asked which protein we would prefer. The rest was left to their imagination. The pricing for the dinner meal seemed excessive for what we received. We were booked for two nights but only stayed one (not refundable). They had impressive reviews in the guest book, so maybe I'm just petty. I guess it was just not for me.
Misleading information from website. Very poor WiFi only around reception. No satellite TV. No activities available which was advertised. Fortunately for us staff and food was top class.
Great to just get away from daily routine and sit by the river with a glass of wine and wait for delicious food! Have fun!
Luxury unit overlooking water with goats and great ambience in the evening. Can definitely recommend!
Very well located, with luxury accommodation that gives you the African feel. Gardens are very well maintained.
Particularly pleasant and peaceful.
Fantastically beautiful chalets, excellent breakfast and dinner. Clean and excellent service. Friendly staff. In short...ga experienced it myself.
Amazing service, beautiful units, campfire nights. Will do it again!
I booked and paid for 2 people, but then there was the problem that my companion couldn't go with me anymore. The staff didn't offer to halve my R1800 deposit or credit my since only 1 person ended up staying. I don't expected a refund, but would've appreciated the offer to halve the deposit. Courtesy lacking. The accommodation wasn't what I expected for the price charged. Accommodation in other provinces at this price is more luxurious.
Really great people and a very nice area with very good customer service. Would recommend the Lodge to anyone who just wants to rest and be able to travel safely and peacefully.
Excellent service from all the staff. Chalet comfortable and clean. The wildlife guide Frank is clearly in his element and a visit to both the Eco and Craft Centers is a must. Breakfast while the monkeys frolic and goats graze on the other side of the river is something to experience. Outlander - we're coming again and for longer!
A nice resting place for walking, cycling and bird watching.
Thank you very much Anna and staff for a wonderful 3 days at your Lodge!
Anna was very friendly and her staff were just as helpful. They went out of their way to make it comfortable for us. The lodge is located on a beautiful farm. We will definitely go again.
Highly recommended. Staff efficient, pleasant, and polite. Management accommodating, flexible and informative. Fantastic birding, great walks and evident respect and support for the community and environments. Good food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
With pretty much nothing to do - as you are deep in the Limpopo Bushveld - this is the ideal venue to break-away from technology/city life/traffic etc. The venue is exceptionally clean, neat and the staff are very friendly. Lots of wildlife. Recommended for anybody looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Will definitely go back.
Absolutely peaceful with five-star service in the heart of the bushveld!
Anna is wonderful hostess.
