356 guests' feedbackLodge is clean and very comfortable chalets, with everything needed! Friendly staff and excellent food!
Friendly staff and very neat accommodation. The breakfast is delicious.
Thank you very much Roedolf and Hanna for your fantastic service, kindness and hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was neat and clean and the place is beautiful! Their breakfasts (starting at 6h45) are delicious and value for money. Overall the food is fantastic! Thank you Molopo you are a winning team - and your food and bar facilities are excellent and affordable. You guys are great! The Fouries had a great time and made new family. See you again soon. I will never pass them again.
Great rooms. Well equipped and comfortable. Very pleasant verandah and bar. Good food.
Excellent, very accommodating, had 3 young kids.
Accommodation is neat and customer service is great. Food is delicious!
Had a really nice stay. There are not enough stars for the place based on your criteria. Definitely an oasis between nothing and nowhere. Facilities, amenities and services are world class! They will definitely see me again.
Yes, very nice stay. The restaurant makes very good food.
Molopo Lodge impressed me! The hospitality of reception and the staff was excellent. The braai buns (made to our liking) were a surprise and made us feel welcome. The laundry service made me relax. Molopo Lodge goes the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome and they focus on making one's holiday that much more special. Highly recommend. Will stay there again for sure! I liked the private bathroom at each campsite.
The place is very neat and clean. Very friendly reception and breakfast was delicious! One problem was the music and noise coming from neighboring squatter camp and therefore we couldn't have a good night's rest.
Outstanding stay. The people there are just too friendly and helpful. We then simply got a fresh sourdough bread for free. Just because we camp there.
Molopo is just one word: fantastic!
Nice stay. Service was excellent and meal in the restaurant was even better. Will stay at Molopo Lodge again.
Perfect simple stopover before Kgalagadi. Cozy restaurant with a tasteful, top shelf meal.
Lovely stay and very thoughtful hosts. I'll miss the cats for sure.
We had a very nice stay.
Very nice stay, host and staff very friendly, you are tops! Units clean and tidy.
Molopo Lodge is an excellent destination and the location is perfect for us who were on our way to Kgalagadi. Hanna was very friendly and helpful. The amenities deserve a 5 star rating! We will definitely visit them again in the future.
Slept very well. Cottages have been wonderfully equipped.
Very comfortable chalets and braai facilities, Great breakfast.
We had a wonderful stay on our route to Kgalagadi. Friendly people, nice clean and tidy place, good food at the restaurant, and overall a good experience for us.
Had a great stay and received friendly service!
Perfect overnight location en route to Namibia.
10 out of 10, had a great stay and the breakfast is delicious.
Everything was top-notch.
We have stayed at the lodge several times on our way to the Kgalagadi Park. Neat and good accommodation. The restaurant has a nice viewing terrace to have a drink in the evening, after a day's drive.
We had a lovely stay there and were very well received. Also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Thank you very much!
We stayed in the 1 bedroom ensuite chalet with kitchen on the stoep. Comfortable and clean accommodation. Stunning clean swimming pools with beautiful gardens, lots of trees. Felt like we were in an oasis.
Always have fun there. Convenient location on the way to and from Kgalagadi.
Very friendly staff, extremely helpful. Nice get together to build spirit before visiting Kgalagadi.
Very nice and very good service. Clean and tidy. Really value for money with breakfast included in the price.
Molopo Lodge was easy to find on the R360 Kgalagadi road. The room was spotlessly clean. The air-conditioner helped keep the room cool in the extremely hot conditions. A dip in the pool was a great way to cool off. We could also park our vehicle under cover, which was great protection from the hot Kalahari sun. A large comfortable bed awaited us after a long drive, and we slept soundly. The on-site restaurant offers excellent meals and refreshing drinks, as well as a super tasty breakfast. The Molopo Lodge exceeded our expectations by far, and we will definitely stop over here again, before and after our visits to the Kgalagadi.
Definitely I had a nice stay, the staff was friendly.
We stayed here a week ago on our way to the Kgalagadi and were very happy to know that we were coming to a great place to take a breather before our long trip home. The room was spotlessly clean and kept cool in the extremely hot conditions, which also helped keep the Kalahari mosquitoes at bay. A dip in the pool was a great way to cool off again. Undercover parking was great protection from the hot Kalahari sun. A large comfortable bed gave us a good night's rest, and we slept soundly. The on-site restaurant offers excellent meals, refreshing drinks, and a super tasty breakfast. The accommodation exceeded our expectations by far, and we will definitely stop over here again, before and after our visits to the Kgalagadi.
Very nice place, very friendly, clean and helpful.
The lodge is like a small oasis and is well positioned as stop over for Kgalagadi. Accommodation is neat and clean. Nice swimming pools to cool down in. Food is good and service is friendly.
House/room was nice. Information upfront about dinner option; breakfast was poor and incorrect.
It was delicious. We are friendly and received with open arms and made to feel welcome! The food was incredibly tasty every time. Accommodation units are clean and tidy with very comfortable beds. It's very quiet and safe. Really delicious.
Excellent and comfortable accommodation in a very beautiful setting. Delicious restaurant. I would highly recommend the stay.
Beautiful clean accommodation in very beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Everything you need. Got a discount ourselves when we could show our reservation at the park!
It's an awesome place!
Great stay on the way to Kgalagadi.
Just perfect! We loved it!
Was excellent. Jackie at the restaurant deserves a gold star. Only negative is the absolute dirty pools. Bugs in the green water.
The campsites are level and well marked. Each with its own ablution which is very clean and well maintained.
Very nice stay and manager was particularly helpful. Nice barbecue suits to buy there, as well as bottled salad and garlic bread. They also offered to make barbecue sandwiches.
Nice stay. Thank you very much.
Great stay over to Kalahari in the tent chalet. Also, the food was very good.
Good campsite with good amenities.
The unit was spacious, tidy and quiet. The restaurant on site was comfortable with good food.
Warm welcome on arrival. Chalet clean and overlooking a beautiful garden and pool. Dinner and breakfast very good. Staff friendly, helpful, and professional.
The shower was the best!
Neat, clean rondavel, peaceful atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food in the restaurant.
It was very peaceful except that staff/friends were chatting loudly near our room until late at night and were therefore disturbing. I reported it over the phone and the problem was quickly addressed.
It was a great experience for the whole family. Delicious food, great pool, well located on the way to the Kalahari.
Good place to stay on the way to Namibia, but the directions could be improved, and basic maintenance in the rooms is advised. Our bathroom door handle was broken, and there were no 2-pin plugs for charging phones. Only when I asked at reception when we checked out, I was told I could have asked for one.
The accommodation was as suggested. Beds were comfortable and everything worked well. Management goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and provides a great service to guests. We appreciate the cupcakes made for mother-in-law's birthday! What made us sad were guests who made noise with loud music until 1am (just the one night). Management will have to ensure that the noise is limited until after 22:00.
A rather disappointing experience. I booked the Molopo Villa as a birthday treat and found it double booked on arrival, causing a fair bit of distress for my elderly companions. There was no WiFi, and the ceiling fan in one room was not working (in February Kalahari heat!), and several lights were not working. The management was rather dismissive about it all. This was our third, and likely last visit.
Yes, we had a very nice stay.
Rudolph welcomed us kindly and suggested the best camping spot. It was a very hot day so he upgraded us to a chalet with air conditioning and private pool. It was wonderful. We also got a bag of braai wood and braai bread for free. Thank you very much Molopo.
Yes, it's always a great experience.
Wonderful place, very friendly staff, delicious food, refreshing pool. We've enjoyed our stay in a tent very much again.
Excellent restaurant with excellent food.
Very nice stay. Room was very neat and clean and had everything that was needed. Restaurant meals were also off the books. Thank you.
Had a great stay. Accommodation is very comfortable and beautifully clean. The owner informed me that I was getting a 30% discount as we were on our way to Kgalagadi Park. We had already paid the accommodation in full in advance, and then the owner deducted our meal from the previous night from our bill. She even offered us biltong. The breakfast the next morning was also delicious. Molopo Lodge is a gem in the Kalahari!
A lovely setting and well accommodated and clean room, and a lovely restaurant and bar with a scrumptious breakfast.
Hospitality and accommodation are top class!
The ideal destination for the Kgalagadi.
The camping chalets only have sleeping, shower and toilet facilities. There is a braai place. So we had everything we wanted.
Awesome place and very friendly people.
Molopo Lodge is conveniently located outside the Kalagadi Transfrontier Park and is an ideal stopover when visiting the park.
Very comfortable accommodations with an excellent restaurant. Friendly service and well-priced.
Quiet! Very still! Great for the soul and not too far from Kgalagadi Reserve. Place is neat, well planned and very cutely decorated to fit in with the area's theme. Typical Kalahari. Wonderful people and delicious food at the restaurant.
I can confidently recommend Molopo Lodge. I stay in the area often and would rather make a detour to stay at Molopo than anywhere else. The restaurant's food is good and the lodge is neat and clean. Thank you
10 out of 10! Wonderful, peaceful visit!
Suited us perfectly after exiting Kgalagadi. The food at the restaurant was great.
Will definitely stay here again before we go into Kgalagadi, but next time more than just one 1 night. Friendly service, neat facilities. Delicious baked bread with reception was very special.
Very friendly people.
We were spoiled in the evening by Jackie who brought us barbecue sandwiches. Excellent service and location.
We even got a pensioner discount. What was bad was that a generator fee was added at the end, while it was not mentioned anywhere. We then paid more than we bargained for. Hidden costs must be mentioned please.
I will recommend this facility to all.
Wonderful accommodation.
Peaceful quiet environment. Delicious restaurant with good breakfast. Unforgettable with the rain on the grass and thunder and lightning in the sky.
Camping pitches are clean and tidy, each pitch has its own bathroom (plus point). Thank you for the complimentary sandwiches every night at our barbecue, it was a great treat.
What a wonderful surprise to be upgraded to the villa after we stayed in the chalets the week before. 5-star treatment and accommodation no matter where you stay. Thanks for the friendly and efficient manner in which everything is managed. We are definitely recommending Molopo Lodge to our friends and family.
Great service and friendliness.
Friendliest staff, delicious food, and everything in the Villa of high quality.
Superb Kalahari accommodation with very helpful staff, and good restaurant facilities.
Perfectly located as a stopover to and from Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
We thoroughly enjoyed the lodge as a stopover on the way to Namibia. The rondavel as well as the rest of the facilities were particularly beautiful and tidy. The customer service also unbeatable. Will definitely try to sleep there again on the way to the Kgalagadi National Park. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Awesome stay, loved the dinner and would recommend the lamb neck off the menu! A winner indeed.
Very nice. Enjoyed watching rugby. Good breakfast included in price.
We camped as a family with a caravan at Molopo Lodge. The Lodge is a convenient distance from the Kgalagadi. The grounds are tidy and each stand has its own clean ablution facilities. Our pitch was a bit cramped due to the caravan we were camping with. There were other larger campsites that were unused. Maybe we should have just asked for a bigger one. The Lodge sells a few items that one might need.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. The first night from the Kalahari Transfrontier Park just before we cross the border into Botswana at Bokspits. The rondavel was very neat. Well equipped and beautiful bathroom. We have been coming here since 1994 and at intervals the accommodation was a little neglected, but since it was taken over by NC Famous Lodges everything has only improved. Now we are just waiting for the chalets to be renovated as well. Furthermore, the grounds and campsites are very inviting and we would recommend this resort. Thanks to the team of friendly people there at Molopo! Keep it up!
Will come again in the summer!
Great stay, will recommend.
Friendly service on arrival and facilities that meet all requirements.
Very nice stay in the accommodation. Big enough and the pool is a winner.
We enjoyed it very much. Rooms are very comfortable, neat and clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent.
Everything was clean and tidy. Delicious barbecue packages available at reception, with various side dishes. Bar with a nice atmosphere, we enjoyed watching rugby there. Food at the restaurant is also delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the water from the shower was cold.
We booked two rondavels through the website. On arrival the very friendly receptionist upgraded our rooms to the villas at no extra cost. Food at the restaurant was delicious and the service was 10 out of 10. Will definitely return again and stay at least 2 nights.
Excellent hospitality on reception. Very helpful. Peaceful environment for camping with friends and family.
Very pleasant stay. Will definitely use your accommodation again.
Very nice atmosphere on the porch, bar and restaurant.
This lodge was beautiful, great rondawel and pool. My only complaint is that the restaurant closes at different times on different days. I came back from the park (which is about an hour away but I knew that) around 6:45, went to the restaurant at 6:55 and was rudely told by the person working there that the restaurant closes in 5 minutes. There is nowhere else to eat! How could it close so early? Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.
Neatly clean. Bread at the check-in was also a very cute thought.
The luxury tented chalet was disappointing. Light switches are in funny places, and apart from the Eskom load shedding (for which the chalet provided no hand lights) we also had a power cut early in the morning when we were getting ready to drive, and I couldn't find the switchboard. The car-parking shed is some distance from the chalet and lights are needed there. The chalet's stairs also lack a handrail for older people. Some of the tent flaps are loose and rattle badly in the wind. Unfortunately, we had neighbors who were drinking and rowdy until the early hours of the morning - certainly not what you need after a long day in the Wildlife Park, and when you have to get up early to drive 1000 km to Pretoria!
Power wss off due to problem and there was no provision for light even though we asked. Mosquitoes were unheard of many, many. No mosquito nets. The thatched roof in the second bedroom section is possibly the reason for the many mosquitoes.
We stayed at Molopo for two nights and visited Kgalagadi during our stay. Riaan received us kindly upon our arrival. I was surprised to learn that the rondavels are not self-catering and that I had to pay a generator charge of R120/person/day. Nevertheless, Riaan made a courtesy to give us accommodation in the villa. The villa is stylishly furnished and spacious. Tap water has a salty taste, I recommend that you bring your own drinking water. The overall facility of Molopo is well maintained and impressively large.
Molopo Kalahari Lodge delivers everything you need to spend a few days lounging at the pool avoiding the hot desert sun. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. In saying that, there are a few things that could be improved. Some chalets should be made up as doubles, and not two singles. More often than not it is couples booking in. The air conditioners and TV's should be checked before visitors check in. Our aircon was dripping water on the beds after being pushed together, so we had to move them apart again. They did tend to it but the problem was not resolved. Our TV was not functioning properly and had to be replaced. All-in-all, an amazing stay for 3 nights. Will go back again just because the staff are amazing.
Wonderful quiet place, very well maintained, very friendly staff. Our tent was in a very good condition, very clean and comfortable. It has been our 3rd stay at Molopo. Meanwhile things have really been improving unexpectedly. We appreciated the flexibility in the kitchen as well and enjoyed our meals.
Very good place to use as a stopover, or even destination, on the way to Kgalagadi. Friendly staff who went out of their way to get us 'buns'. Accommodation is very good value for money. Will go back again anytime.
These are really the friendliest and most helpful staff. Beautiful chalets. Nice interior.
Very neat place and good, friendly service. Swimming pool was a relief in the heat. Food was great.
We spent the night here after a day long trip. It was truly an oasis after the long day on the road. The lovely gardens, the cleanliness, the soft bedding, lovely beds, air conditioning, was just what we needed. The friendliness of the staff made us feel like we were old friends. The next morning after a delicious breakfast we left for Kgalagadi, and on our return we had lunch here again. Molopo Lodge is a must on the way to the desert. Last watering hole.
Good service.
Oasis near Askam (Kgalagadi) - Neat, clean accommodation and very, very friendly staff. They set a cozy table for you (if you want to barbecue) in front of your hut with a white tablecloth plates and all and they bring the braai tongs grill, matches and lighters. You buy the wood and meat. We bought and grilled the most delicious cheese sausage there. Great treat when we were spoiled with fresh out of the oven toasted cakes! Breakfast was tasty and filling in the nice restaurant. Thank you very much for great service - it was a snapshot-remember-nice experience to be able to stay with you!
Great atmosphere, beautiful accommodation. Would love to visit again.
All the staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to provide good service. It was a lovely little place and the food was of high quality. I would definitely recommend the Molopo Lodge, and would definitely stay there again.
I would definitely recommend restaurant, food was delicious!
A perfect base from which one can drive out in different directions for visits to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the Hakskeenpan, Van Zylsrus to name just a few of the many interesting places in the Kalahari.
Fantastic service all around, Celeste was a superstar and all staff was friendly and very efficient. Delicious venison pie at the restaurant. An outstanding experience, highly recommend Molopo Lodge to anyone!
We were received with old-world kindness and helpfulness. Meals were delicious.
We chose one of the tented chalets and was warned that showering may be cold in the morning but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The chalet was equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay.
Pleasant stay in a very comfortable, modern chalet with a very comfortable bathroom. The layout is beautiful and the restaurant has delicious food. The steak was perfect and so was the wine. The staff were super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make it as pleasant as possible for us. It is the perfect place to stay on the way from Kgalagadi Park. Will definitely stay there again.
You haven't experienced the Kalahari if you haven't rested or stopped here. Do it on your way north!
Was a very pleasant weekend, very friendly service.
Beautifully laid out grounds. Quiet and peaceful. Bar and restaurant area available. Some upgrading happening at the moment. The executive chalets we landed up in, could do with a shaded/covered outside seating area eg. behind or next to it, more utensils, and an air fryer or something more to cook in, other than an electric frying pan and a microwave.
Alees here is tasty and stylish. No one could ask for more. Thank you, we will visit again!
Clean and tidy. Very friendly reception. Everything was just top notch. Breakfast was delicious! Will always recommend Molopo Lodge.
Will stay there again on the way to Kgalagadi.
Charming place to stay and a little oasis after the dry Kgalagadi. Great spot to relax and bird life was terrific.
We had a wonderful stay at Molopo on our route to the Kgalagadi. Hanna made us feel welcome, and the food and everything were great! All the personnel are very friendly, and will do everything to make your stay something to remember! Thank you! Will see you again!
We got great service from Hanna and everything was perfect. We were in the villa and it's like a little heaven in the Kalahari. We will stay again at Molopo Lodge and maybe an extra day or two. Thank you, Hanna, as well as all the staff at Molopo Lodge and hopefully see you again soon.
The staff and management are extremely helpful and friendly. Their service is of top quality. We will definitely visit there again. Thank you very much for your excellent service and accommodation.
The staff are so friendly, welcoming and efficient!. The daily bread/braaibroodjies was an absolute treat!
Value for money, good food and friendly staff. Definitive recommendation.
The pictures of what we booked and what we got were very different. They were kind enough to upgrade us to a rondavel very close to the main building and pool. It was heavenly under the trees, palms and all the birds chirping. Will definitely stay again if we are in that county again.
I enjoyed the rondavel stay so much last week. And the food. Always a treat and delight. Thanx to all the staff, your friendly service and assistance 10/10. You will see me even more. The room was spotless clean, the aircon - soft in the heat. I am so thankful for the rain. The nature is spectacular.
Staff were friendly, hospitable and went out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable. Specially moved rooms around to put our group close together.
Lovely veranda and restaurant facilities. The only issue we had was that tea and coffee were not yet topped up in the room on check-in. We would have liked to make tea on arrival. Also, soap only arrived a bit later for the bathroom.
The kitchen was outside in the open next to the bedroom and did not have enough room for making meals.
Nice food, nice people, nice place.
Definitely a good place to stop before going into Kgalagadi. Delicious breakfast that you should not miss. Didn't see any grills.
Campsite was neat and clean, meals very affordable and tasty. Will stay with them again for sure.
When we arrived they were not aware of our reservation. We booked a tent-chalet and after the manager explained that it was very cold in the tents, they moved us into a chalet, among a bunch of noisy Eskom staff who were staying the night. No privacy if you want to hang out outside, because the area around the veranda and braai of the chalets is open. Our stoep and braai area have been taken over by the Eskom staff. After complaining to the office, we were moved to the Villa. Nevertheless, I can recommend the restaurant, the food was delicious and staff very friendly!
It is far from the park. In the evening it was very noisy - a dance/shebeen party somewhere? It was distracting and didn't fit the experience. But these are beautiful sites, and exceptional service.
Thanks so much to Carlos and "Branna" for a wonderful experience, a real oasis in the middle of nowhere!
The people in the Kalahari are friendly, sincere and helpful. The Kalahari is the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle. This was our second choice holiday after the cancellation of our Mauritius holiday. We are not disappointed at all!
We were upgraded because it was 41 degrees and too hot for a tent. They made delicious barbecue sandwiches for us, salted meat we bought there and sold barbecue wood with flash. Villa was beautiful and well equipped. Lovely pool and people are very friendly.
A super host.
Any problems/requests received immediate attention. We bought some meat there to grill. They offered to make salad and sandwiches if we preferred. Everything delicious. There was a problem with the 1 toilet, they immediately offered us another unit. The geyser's time switch (timer) was intermittent and when we said there was no hot water, they switched it on and then also asked if they could move us all to the Villa (at no extra cost) as we had already been inconvenienced twice . We turned it down as all problems had already been addressed.
Good service, friendly Kalahari people.
I've been there and the standard was the same. Had a great meal before heading into the Kgalagadi, would definitely recommend.
Spacious, tidy - breakfast excellent.
Value for money and super friendly people. Will stay there again for sure.
It was our first time here, but definitely not our last! We were warmly received and all the staff here are friendly, hospitable and very helpful. The accommodation is comfortably equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast is delicious and for lunch and dinner in the restaurant there is a large selection of dishes to choose from. We can especially recommend the lamb curry and springbok pie! There is also a bar. I can definitely recommend a break here, in the pristine Kalahari scenery!
A fabulous spot, with private ablutions and fully kitted out. Loved camping there. And the gift of a loaf of home-baked bread was a wonderful surprise. Highly recommended.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Everything was so delicious and the meal in the restaurant was top notch, especially the grasshopper pie. The Kalahari has had wonderful rains this season and is beautiful. It's the ideal stop on the way to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Best place to stay overnight en route to the Kgalagadi. Only 60 km from Twee Riviere.
The lodge far exceeded our expectations! Didn't know about the gem in the woods. Feel free to stay there. Affordable, neat and fairy-tale beautiful!
Absolutely delicious and definitely worth it.
Private ablution facilities, neat braai/kitchen area, ample parking, electricity. What more can you want for a camping spot? There are some donkeys in the area whose sorrowful nocturnal laments are hard to get used to when you try to sleep. Consider it wildlife and you should be fine!
Pleasantly surprised with the Lodge.
We spent a lovely evening at Molopo Lodge, the place was spotless, the bedding luxurious, and the service on the large, nice old-fashioned stoep was top notch. Thanks to Dirk who made sure we were always satisfied. It was a stopover from the Kgalagadi back to Cape Town, but next time we will definitely stay longer.
We will definitely stay here again. It's close enough to Twee Rivieren, the people are super friendly and the food was delicious ─ especially the mutton neck and springbok pie. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained.
We had very clean room. We asked if we could get sheep neck. They made it especially for us. Very good breakfast that was included in the price. A lot of birds.
The helpfulness and friendliness of the personnel is unforgettable and should/must serve as an example for the whole hospitality industry in the RSA. We can only say thank you and well done. The accommodation that we used (twice) was perfect and the meals fit for a "king". We did not make use of the camping accommodation, but even that should set an example - clean and well laid out.
Very nice stay at Molopo Lodge on the way to Kagalagadi. Delicious dinner.
As kings receive. Was cold when our group of 4 adults and a youngster arrived in the evening after a long journey to camp, as prearranged. We ask if there might be a chalet available because camping seems less attractive because of the cold. They actually upgrade us to two chalets for free and simply provide breakfast the next morning on the house. How unbelievably lucky one cannot be.
Very nice. Clean and spacious bathrooms. Very comfortable campsites.
The permanent tent units are tidy and cleaned every day.
Beautiful place - great service.
Tented chalets are lovely. Self-catering option is available, but is geared towards braaing so there is limited cooking utensils, although we found out once there you can get everything you need from the lodge: from braai meat and wood to salads to accompany your meal.
The 3-bedroom villa is beautifully furnished with spacious rooms, verandas and a private swimming pool. Linens and beds are comfortable and good. The staff are very helpful and friendly and made a lot of effort with all our requests. The meals at the restaurant were also very tasty. It was the second time we stayed there and can recommend them.
Very pleasant stay. Friendly service and delicious food. Good value for money with the big discount if you are on your way to or from the Kgalagadi Park. Can pay some attention to the cleanliness of the room floor. Floor was not swept properly - dusty. Also pay attention to the small broken things in the rooms that need repair.
Quiet, great location with attentive staff.
Our tent-chalet against the dune was clean and tidy and well located. The power point at the parking is smart and works well. The kitchenette is cute, but a bit limited with space.
Good chef, good food, especially the mutton neck!
Booking was wrong at first. Was then moved to another unit, which I did not discuss. Ended up next to very noisy neighbors who take over everything, table, porch etc. I was then moved again to a more private unit, almost as I initially wanted. The staff were very helpful with packing up and unpacking, and moving from one unit to another unit. Could it perhaps be considered to make some of the units more disabled-friendly and accessible? E.g. Handrails at stairs or even "ramps" instead of stairs.
Good overnight stay that I would recommend. Would just prefer that the staff wear their masks when working with the guests.
One of the couples slept in Tent-chalet no. 5. When they turned on the outside faucet there was no water and then it started spraying. They had to turn off the stopcock. Employees from the lodge came to fix it and our friends had to provide the correct apparatus because theirs was inadequate. The toilet's water didn't stop running and our friends had to fix it themselves. It was mentioned to the owner. No. 6's people made a terrible noise the night before and this was also mentioned to management. Sorry it happened considered them sufficient for both events.
The service was good. There are no bedside tables next to the double bed. Must put your water glasses on the floor.
Only stayed for 2 nighta, but was well worth it!
It was our second visit and we will definitely go again. Good value for money - very friendly and helpful staff. Well located for activities in the area.
Dirk and his team deserve high praise for their hospitality, genuine warmth, local knowledge and excellent service. The food was also great. Next time we will stay for two days either heading into or out of the park. This was 5-star treatment at a 3-star rate. Thank you so much!
Where your soul can rest, such a nice visit. Service brisk and friendly and food at the restaurant delicious, especially the bobotie.
Indescribable. Service is unbeatable. Atmosphere and decor are stunning. Restaurant is delicious. Thank you Dirk for personal service.
Would highly recommend this accommodation. Well located if you are on your way to the Kgaligadi Park. Hospitable, friendly staff. The accommodation is nicely furnished and very clean. Dinner was a feast! We feasted on the delicious springbok pie, gemsbok steak and delicious potato chips.
The staff, especially Vicky were very friendly and efficient. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. Excellent food, especially the mutton neck and mutton curry.
We really enjoyed Molopo Lodge. Thank you for the unexpected upgrade in accommodation.
After a long drive from the Cape like an oasis. Beer is cold. Food is very nice. Friendly staff. Very neat accommodation.
We were impressed with everything and everyone at the lodge. We enjoyed the barbecue pack and side dishes and appreciated the help when we struggled with our trailer. The only negative is the mosquitoes - please be warned. prospective travelers about it! Our boys were badly tackled by them. A suggestion is to invest in a generator.
Menu pathetic, because no chicken dishes or lamb's tails or cheese for certain pizzas were available. Power went out for three hours due to Thunder. No generator. No hot milk or toast available at breakfast. Scrambled eggs only. All positive point is that the manager helped us to kill an extremely venomous fat tail scorpion on our bed.
Swimming pool and reception/restaurant very neat and nicely maintained.
It was our 2nd visit here, 1st time in 2017 at the camp tents against the dune, great very nice. Nothing that bothered. Now at the chalets, people are people and everyone has their own styles, but where was management when 3 groups of +- 12 people in the pool were using alcohol, smoking and foul language where many children were present? The people who were in the pool before them just took off to the rooms. The showers are fantastically large, but without a curtain, the toilet surface and bedroom get wet? Good location, reasonable prices with accommodation, petrol price on site 87c per liter more than in Gauteng, that's something I will investigate. Breakfast food packs excellent.
Very friendly staff - did not hesitate to change our accomodation type due to the sudden cold streak of the wheater, especially with a baby in the party. The food served is of outstanding quality.
Nice stay on the way to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Food is good, chalet and facilities clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful.
We camped for two nights. Delicious home-baked bread is provided to campers daily. Main pool needs some attention. Steak at restaurant was my best ever. Askham is nearby and well worth a visit.
Always nice to visit Molopo, but they will need to step up their maintenance. Bed was broken when we arrived, leaking taps/pipes etc.
Great location, very clean, helpful and friendly staff, excellent facilities!
The chef even baked a cake for free for my son's birthday. How awesome. The cake was soft and delicious.
The guest house meets a guest's expectations in all respects. The service, menu, customer service and milieu are great.
Hospitality as only the Kalahari can offer it. Always nice between the dunes. Tent accommodation was very satisfactory.
Those Kalahari people were the greatest. Despite Eskom cutting them out for a lot of our 3 day stay, the smiles and kindness was unbelievable. Unfortunately for National Parks, I will never see the point in staying at Twee Rivieren, but hope to be back at Molopo again whenever we visit the Kgalagadi.
We made use of the caravan pitches. Our party used 2 pitches. The gardens are well maintained. The bathrooms also exceeded our wildest expectations. The braai facilities are good and the sinks under the lapa a winner.
Our stay was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious.
The accommodation was cozy and the food was tasty and fresh. The unit was clean and very tidy. Thanks to the team.
Really value for money - chalet is clean and tidy and breakfast was very tasty.
Friendly helpful people who respond immediately. Many trees, quiet in the shade with a clean swimming pool, food and drink are carried behind you. Of course, their barbecues were a winner that guests get when the sun goes down.
Thank you very much Dirk for your great customer service, it was a wonderful Christmas time in the Kalahari! We will definitely go again!
Molopo is a characterful place where you can comfortably sleep before and after your trip to the Kgalagadi National Park. The accommodation and food are good.
Campsites were very comfortable. Everything was in order and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The bar and restaurant have special character and the rondavels for 3 people are spacious. Mosquitoes were very troublesome, maybe management can put something in the rooms against it. The pool needs maintenance.
Thank you very much for the friendly service. Especially from Dirk. We will definitely visit you again.
Great private bathroom campsites with complimentary home-baked bread for the evening and covered little seating areas.
Pleasant experience with good food except a slip with the mutton.
Clean, cool accommodation after a long hot trip.
Excellent service and accommodation with great food.
Here a donkey surprises you and a fox welcomes you on the porch. Had a lovely stay in the Tented Chalets, everything and more you need.
A good place to stay before one enters into Kgalagadi.
Although the unit we have booked is considered self-catering, it is not suitable for full self-catering. There was only a small fridge and kettle in the unit. Breakfast is included in the rate for the unit. Service is excellent.
Have spent the night here several times and relatively satisfied with als. Maintenance is always necessary and so is quality customer service. If not, it will create avoidable negative consequences, which are unnecessary. Apparently they are not aware of the type of booking or which agency booked on reception which was strange. This created frustration, unnecessary expense and unnecessary problems. Am sure they can pay attention to this and believe and trust they will. Not everyone necessarily wants to be near the restaurant and pool, so a tent-chalet is probably or at least partially booked for that.
The rondavel was very clean and tidy, the bedding was crisp and the bed slept well. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
We arrived after a long day's drive and asked if we could be upgraded to a chalet, rather than setting up a tent and this was absolutely not an issue. The staff on duty were so professional. It was a fabulous experience and will definitely visit again. Thank you, Molopo.
Excellent value for money!
Thank you Dirk for the surprise regarding discount on our meal. It's a win-win recipe. Thank you also for upgrading our accommodation. You are an asset to the lodge.
Our stay was wonderful. The breakfast the next morning was top notch. Thank you Molopo Lodge, we will definitely use your accommodation again in the future and recommend you everywhere. Thank you very much for the beautiful stay and friendly staff.
We were surprised at how neat and beautiful the place is. We had a lovely stay! Everything you need is there.
Nice stay. Clean, neat and safe.
Booked for my parents. The people received them very nicely, will definitely recommend.
Friendly reception. Willing to help. Nice and quiet and very safe. Breakfast is worth it and price very reasonable. Neat and clean.
We had a very nice stay. My kids want to go again, especially just for the milk food for breakfast.
Molopo is very good value for money. Friendly staff, especially in the restaurant.
We were welcomed by Dirk, so friendly! Our little house was very cute! And the outdoor bathroom is very cool. We preferred to grill, we could order side dishes from the restaurant and they brought them to us and they were delicious! We were surprised that breakfast was included - ideal if you are heading to Kgalagadi for the day. If we go to the Kalahari again, we will definitely sleep at Molopo Lodge again!
Definitely a place to stay before heading into the Kgalagadi! We stayed 2 nights, to be rested before going into the park. People are friendly and service is great! Will stay there again. Is like a small holiday resort on their own. We stayed in the rondavels. Houses were clean, tidy and really more than we needed. Highly recommendable! 10 out of 10!
We have been to Molopo Lodge several times and it remains very nice. Would recommend it to anyone. Very friendly and very peaceful.
We stayed at Molopo Lodge on our way to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Upon our arrival they gave us an unexpected upgrade to the 5 star Molopo Lodge! What a wonderful experience! The villa is perfectly furnished with everything you can think of. Their barbecue pack with grill, firelighters etc., came in very handy and we enjoyed a lovely visit around the fire. The facilities of the lodge are very good. The staff is very friendly and the delicious breakfast is the perfect start to the day!
The people at Molopo Lodge are incredible! We were a group of 8 travellers with children who travelled with us on our way to the Kgalagadi. Upon our arrival there the owner told us he saw we had children with us and will upgrade us for free to the more luxurious rooms, as no one has booked them for the night. The atmosphere was wonderful, clean and tidy and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The next morning we had breakfast and a drink (as it was the start of the holiday), the owner once again offered us a free drink to wish us a safe trip. When we wanted to pay for it, his words were: "We just want our guests to enjoy it and that the Kalahari is a friendly place." See you again next year!
We were received very kindly and stayed very comfortably in spacious facilities and a quiet atmosphere.
Everything had been good. They can only replace the towels.
We really enjoyed the night's overnight stay at Molopo Lodge on the way to Kgalagadi. We were kindly received and it was made sure that everything was in order at our tents - house with an open air shower. Everything was very neat and practical. The breakfast that was included in the amount was very nice. We also enjoyed dinner there and the food was delicious! This was truly value for money. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you very much.
The accommodation and comfort was beyond expectation.
The tent houses were very comfortable and outdoorsy. Might need a mirror for grandma to dry her hair.
Molopo Lodge is beautifully located within walking distance of Kgalagadi NP. We stayed in a rondavel next to the swimming pool. Surrounded by a beautiful green garden with fine sunbeds. Room neatly arranged, good bed, fridge, airco and spacious bathroom. Good quality lunch and dinner. Unfortunately small wine list choice. Breakfast fine, only the tea tasted like chlorine, sorry. Definitely coming back.
Excellent service. Beautiful location. Clean, tidy and comfortable facilities. Mouth-wateringly delicious food. Oasis in the beautiful Kalahari where you can relax and rest your soul.
A wonderful oasis after a few days of sweat and little water. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, most beautiful place with great Kalahari hospitality, definitely worth a visit.
Molopo doesn't pretend to be anything other than it is - a Kalahari, country, Lodge with all the basic amenities, including a pool which can be a godsend in those temperatures!
It is like paradise in the desert, it was lovely. Staff were friendly, especially Anne-Marie. We are thankful for her good service.
Friendly staff, good bungalow and great food. Highly recommended.
After a 2 week camping tour through Namibia we arrived at Molopo Lodge tired in the late afternoon to set up camp again. Some of the group members were sick and the small children were crying - we were then very kindly helped to upgrade (at a reasonable price) to the camping chalets and we then got a delicious breakfast too! A great experience! And the warm bread was the icing on the cake!
A really convenient well run stop on our way to the Kgalagadi.
We felt right at home as soon as we stepped in. Staff are all very friendly and professional. Service is top quality and food was delicious! One word: it was great!
We were received very hospitably, slept and ate wonderfully. Would definitely recommend it.
Our stay was good, the staff go the extra mile for guests. Very good service.
From the moment we set foot at Molopo Lodge until our departure 2 days later our stay was just superb. We had the surprising honour to be upgraded from chalet to villa at no extra cost. What a beautiful place! And the service was top quality all throughout. If ever we were to travel in that direction again, Molopo would definitely see us again.
Very peaceful, birdlife, surprising variety even a few chickens, cats for the snakes, units very tidy, meals delicious.
Will definitely stay here again.
Thank you for a lovely stay. We really enjoyed the beautiful Kalahari scenery and facilities. Great hospitality, you will definitely see us again.
Dirk and his team made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely make Molopo Lodge a regular stop over en-route to the Kalahari.
If you like relaxation away from the city noises, this is just the place. Great food and friendly staff! Will easily visit here again!
The lodge offers a selection of accommodation, from camping to chalets, rather close to each other, for individual travellers as well as groups. The staff is friendly but doesn't engage much/offers assistance and/or information. The restaurant offers a limited selection of dishes. Nothing to rave about. Breakfast was included even though our quote didn't mention it. Ideal for a one-night stop-over once you have left the National Park. Too far from the Park to commute on a daily basis.
Convenient, peaceful well located for visitors to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. A peaceful setting with a swimming pool not too far from your unit. Breakfast is sumptuous and it's hard to leave on your last morning.
Stayed there overnight. Ideal for that. Staff make you feel welcome.
Really enjoyed the 1 night stay in beautiful surroundings. Can highly recommend.
Nice and beautiful accommodation definitely worth an overnight stay or two.
Chalet was still dirty after 2.
Good stay and nice setting. Just need to fix their bar prices.
We had a nice stay, got a little cold. Was a bit unhappy about the fact that they didn't tell us the night before that the power would be off the next day from 06:00 to 18:00, so got up the next morning not knowing that there was no power is not going to be!
Reception was by no means cordial and made us feel uncomfortable. The room only has one bedside light, the towels are really way past their replacement date; no hooks to hang towels or dishcloths on. The dining room table is very clinical with only salt and pepper and cutlery wrapped in napkins as decoration. The dining room may reflect the warmth of the reception staff! The waiter was really very good and made up for other shortcomings.
When we checked in at 10 o'clock, our room that I asked for is not ready because it still needs to be serviced. I then told the receptionist Susan how could this be possible, I had booked and paid for a rondavel around the pool. You can't rent out the room if I don't come, can you? I have already paid online. She then gave another room which is not located where I booked. Very very bad and disappointed, not room I booked and was rented out while we were booked for the 2 nights, and didn't sleep there the first night. When we entered, we were pushed into another room.
Fantastic place. Tented houses recommended. View to the fore. New beds and bedding. The bathroom is the icing on the cake.
The tents are very comfortable and nicely located against the dune. Everything was in place and we were helped with ice and firewood.
This lodge meets all the expectation they described on their site.
We can recommend it to anyone, we slept great and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.
Campsite very neat and comfortable. Separate ablution area a bonus.
I recommend the place without any reservations!
Clean, neat, very friendly, good service
It was very pleasant, clean and friendly and a good place to refer people to.
Neat and clean, very helpful, we had a drunken uninvited guest who came to bother us at 9 o'clock in the evening, but he was quickly removed from the premises.
We really enjoyed camping there, all facilities were sufficient and it's nice and close to the cross-border park.
We highly recommend it. Excellent reception and the restaurant is beautiful and serves delicious food and good, personal service. White linen would make it even better. Covered parking too. Beautifully laid out.
Molopo Lodge is a comfortable stayover en route to Namibia and Kgalagadi. Service is friendly and facilities convenient and sufficient. There's also a lovely, refreshing pool.
I wanted a real bush camping experience and the A-frame cottage met that requirement.
Our compliments to the staff of Molopo, they are excellent with guests and manage the lodge very nicely/well! We will definitely recommend everyone there!
Very pleasant accommodation in a very neat rondavel. Good choice for overnight accommodation on the way back from Kgalagadi.
Can easily recommend, well located, good value for money. Good service and beautiful area.
Pleasantly surprised and a wonderful experience after a day's travel to relax there and enjoy a delicious meal in the evening after a refreshing drink in the bar. The breakfast was included and we were already ready early in the morning for an early start and we entered the Kgalagadi. We would recommend it anytime. Thank you very much!
Good value for money and very friendly staff in restaurant. Delicious breakfast included in the tariff.
Service was excellent and Dirk went out of his way to make our stay pleasant. There are more than enough accommodation options for each guest's tastes and whims. The swimming pool and restaurant area are beautiful.
We enjoyed our stay as well as the helpful and friendly staff and tasteful and clean accommodation. We had the impression that the lodge was in the bush, which is not the case, but in the end the surroundings (we stayed in the tented accommodation) still had a Kalahari bush feel about it. A suggested improvement can be bed lamps to help with atmosphere and enable one person to read whilst the other is sleeping.
Very nice stay, ate. New tent camp delicious with lots of initiative. 'Locals' noise and shouting make it unpleasant at night, then you want Kalahari silences and night sounds!
Molopo is ideally located for a quick break or overnight stay before the Kgalagadi. The scenery was breathtaking for us. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Our unit was comfortable and had everything we needed.
We were pleasantly surprised. The cottage was comfortably furnished and the restaurant offered excellent service and food.
A nice fireplace fire on the bitterly cold evening would have contributed a lot to create a warm and cozy African atmosphere.
It's a perfect place to stay for day visitors to Kgalgadi! Nice, new Chalets with private barbecue in the "bush". Also good breakfast! Thank you!
A Lafenis lodge in the Kalahari for the weary traveller.
Comfortably close to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Rondavels comfortable and the meals good. The only negative was that the rondavel was not ready by 14:00.
Very pleasant and helpful. Site needs attention. Holes in the road. Water sprinkler's nozzle broken. Spray in one place.
The rondavels is a better option since the chalet patio is very close to the neighbours so no privacy.
My camper van was broken into, food stolen and major damage done to the clips, doors are no longer dust tight. No guards. Other visitors also had damage. The management knows about the break-ins, also in the past.
Was there 2 years ago, was perfect. Not as it used to be though. In the scorching heat, the staff doesn't even bother to open the windows in the restaurant. Asked the waiter if we could get pepper sauce with the steak, answer was: no. Untrained person served us. Wow, people what happened to this place? Air conditioner in the room sometimes works. Mattresses need to be replaced.
We stayed 2 nights in Molopo's tents, and it is beautiful! The tents have great location against a dune with a stunning view. The lodge is gorgeous and the service was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding - I want to go back for some more of that Springbok pie, what a hit! We can recommend this lodge to anyone and we will definitely be back.
Everything I was looking for - aircon, friendly staff, painfully neat.
Friendly reception. Even though it was cold at night, we slept nice and warm and had a great time!
We were well received and the rondawels were neat and convenient. When we had our braai they specially put out tables and chairs for us and the "pap" and sauce was top notch. The second night we ate in the restaurant and the 800 g T-bone was exceptional! We will make use of Molopo Lodge again.
Accommodation was very comfortable and clean. People are very friendly and the atmosphere matches the Kalahari's hospitality.
Great, hospitable service in a beautiful environment and we had a lovely dinner. Really value for money. A big thank to LekkeSlaap for your great service.
Very friendly and helpful and it was lovely to be able to relax there for a weekend.
At Molopo Lodge we received a very friendly welcome and the meals they provide were excellent. We really enjoyed the stay there. We could explore the region from there.
Truly a great lodge to spend the night or even stay a day longer! Very friendly service in a peaceful Kalahari atmosphere. The decor of the lodge is special and something to appreciate. Nice big veranda to relax in with a swimming pool to cool off in. The starry sky is also particularly unique to the region, something you don't see everyday in the city. If you're heading to Kgalagadi, don't miss this one, even if it's just for a cold drink!
Will stay there again. You feel safe your vehicle is safe. Restaurant on premises. The menu needs some attention, but the food is of good quality. Very centrally located, especially for people who love nature. Lots of activities nearby.
Breakfast was a little light in the pants as if they want to save? Rooms were clean and tidy and I've had a lot of good times over the years. There were guests who were noisy at their units, but reception helped.
The caravan stands aren't level and not great and the ablution blocks of poor quality. I wouldn't run water to wash my face in the basin. It is a rusted bucket that can't be cleaned. The shower spills water on a big part of the floor. I expected more.
We have stayed at Molopo before on our way to the Kgalagadi Park. This time we also just needed a meal, bath and bed. Even though not all the meals on the menu were available, the food was very good. There are only two power points (nightlight and fridge) in the room (E1 and E4) which make it very difficult when the fridge, laptops, cellphones etc. must be charged. The air con was set on ice cold and it was not plugged in when we arrived. We also had a serious problem with mosquitoes and spiders in the room.
The shower is just a little cold for the middle of winter.
Enjoyed a lot. Lovely tent.
Beautiful place, great service and maximum value for money. Treasure chest of antique pieces. Food is great and excellent value for money.
Was there for a funeral. Came back late nights. Had a problem with the gate being opened for us. Would be very nice if the guests could get a remote control to control the gate themselves. Otherwise it was delicious!
Enjoyed every minute of our brief stay. Will definitely make use of your hospitality when we visit the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Very good location for people moving out of the Kgalagadi or staying overnight before entering the Kgalagadi. But the photos of the sunset and sunrise were some of the best photos I have ever taken in my life and I have to say the three children riding the donkeys against the sun gave me the most beautiful silhouette photos. A little attention needed in the changing rooms but the rest of the resort was in good condition
The owner has helped us very well in terms of service. We had requested a twin bed and as this was not in the tented acc., we got lodge accommodation. During the next day when we had trouble with our car, he has taken off the corrosion on the battery, so that the car could start again. The breakfast is also good, you can still order extra an omelet.
The delicious breakfast the next morning really surprised us.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Rooms clean and tidy. The food is truly fragrant and exquisite.
Although there were small things that bothered us, we had a nice stay and enjoyed a tasty meal in the restaurant.
The chalet was neat and comfortable and the restaurant of good quality - dinner and breakfast.
The service is very good, staff are very friendly and helpful! The place is also very neat. The location is also good, about 50 km from the Kgalagadi. All that is missing is a little more detail about the types of accommodation on their website. The Camping Chalet requires you to bring everything yourself, like camping without a tent. We weren't fully prepared, we didn't have cutlery, nor a fridge or chairs. At least we weren't alone, the two neighbors had the same problem so we laughed together! However, the lodge lent us plates and cutlery so at least a serious crisis was avoided. So, it's a very nice place, nice and quiet and neat. We had a very nice stay. However, just think the differences between the types of accommodation should be emphasized more.
It is a peaceful place where one can just come and relax. We have camped there before and now stayed in the rondavel and will stay there again.
Just think they could add a little more vegetables to the menu. The tables could be a little more tidy for breakfast.
Rooms are neat. Breakfast is good. Management is not always friendly and helpful. They do not have all the amenities available as advertised, no game drives or WiFi. The braai packs that were for sale were very limited. Meals in the restaurant as well as takeaways are of very poor quality.
We spent the night in a tent unit on the dunes. It was good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Sorry the unit was not ready for guests, even though I booked well in advance and the staff was expecting me. The bathroom and sleeping area were dusty and sprinkled with pigeon droppings (especially the bathroom area). However, the staff themselves acted quickly when they became aware of this and then they cleaned the place. Couldn't the bathroom area be covered with something like wire mesh to keep the pigeons out? Despite that, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good camping site, Located 60 km from Tweerevieren in the Kgaligadi.
Everything was clean, there were no towels initially. This is very basic accommodation but very close to the Kgalagadi. The other guests who remained there were noisy.
The location of the accommodation to the park is excellent, but at first glance the unit was a little run down. We slept there one night on our way to the park. Our rondavel was clean and the shower and bath worked equally well. The menu for dinner was very impressive, but not so good when we received it. I ordered springbok schnitzel and it was regular beef schnitzel with Smash, not real mashed potatoes, which I then got. My spouse's food was good. However, some of the food, for example the soup and the potjie, were not available even though they were on the menu and it did not create a good impression. There were dogs around the table the whole time we ate. They didn't want to leave, begged and it wasn't very nice. I called and asked what time breakfast was served, the answer was 6:15. When we arrived they said it wouldn't be ready until 07:45. It wasn't until just after 7:00. The location is good but I would not recommend people to eat there.
Feel free to look at the ablution blocks. It needs some upgrading and the smell of the drains is quite annoying, especially in the mornings. The swimming pools were really not clean either. Furthermore, the campsite is not bad.
Unhelpful drivers and downright unfriendly. Chalets are not set up for self-catering. The entire site's maintenance is substandard. Some faucets not in working condition. Bathroom and some other lights not working. Braai facilities as per the website do not offer a large variety. Breakfast is meager. No game viewing drives as per website.
Stylish accommodation - no, springbok breakfast run - no, 4x4 game drives - don't exist, sundowner cruise - not done any more! Disappointing to say the least. On arrival no one was at reception and we had to ask around for someone to attend to us. Maybe Molopo was a good place to stay 25 years ago and maybe still is for those coming there to drink and hunt and have a good time with the men, but we unfortunately will not recommend it, based on our experience. Flushing the toilet caused sewage water to bubble up into the shower! Needless to say, we didn't shower! Mentioning the problem to the managers resulted in a very pathetic: "They will have to come and pump then". Only one plug in the kitchen-part of the rondawel and all the appliances had to be plugged and unplugged from there. Open copper pipes leading to the taps in the bathroom and kitchen.
When we arrived at Molopo there was no booking for us. I showed the people the e-mails, but they had NO bookings on record. The chalets are very old and need attention.
The place is well located. There is a nice atmosphere. The people are friendly. The rondavels are beautiful, practical and neat.
Can recommend it! Good service!
Sleeping place very neat and the food was good. Just remember mosquito repellents!
I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for your help with my booking.
Very nice accommodation and delicious food.
Campsites look very neat. Donkeys were a bit of a nuisance at night. Nice meat grilling facilities. The breakfast room is 5-star. Porch lovely for coffee and tea. We would definitely like to spend the night there again.
Good location and well run, however the pool needed some cleaning as it was green. We enjoyed our stay the room was clean and the setting was fine, would stay there again when in the area.
I'm still waiting for the extra mattress as promised to me before we left for the wedding. We returned late at night and it had not been provided. Otherwise, a nice stay.
The nearby neighborhood's loud music (on Friday night) until late at night not only kept us from sleeping, but it also undermined the tranquility of the surroundings. This is precisely a major attraction of the Kalahari for visitors. The room/bathroom is quite acceptable, but the TV, the lights above the hanging cupboard and the fridge's noise inside the hanging cupboard are a serious disturbance to sleep. Reception was effective and helpful, but the restaurant's service needs urgent attention.
We had been looking forward to our stay at Molopo Lodge after a lovely trip to the Kgalagadi, but unfortunately it didn't match up to our expectations. The beautiful gardens and area surrounding the pool was sadly marred by the pool's green water. The rondavel we stayed in was comfortable but both the bedroom and the bathroom looked rather tatty and was in need of an upgrade. Only one of the bedside lamps worked as there was a problem with the plugs. We had an unfortunate experience in the parking area when my husband was changing a flat tyre on the car, a drunk man hurled abuse at him and was becoming quite aggresive when my husband refused to let him help. This was reported to reception who were very apologetic about the incident and reported it to the police.
Decent location.
The dinner was good, but the staff was very unfriendly.
