The owner was absolutely phenomenal, kind and helpful and even suggested that we book out later on the Sunday as she was not expecting any guests that day. Highly recommend. Loved staying in the middle of the town and walked along the main road.

Absolutely amazing stay. Location was nice and central, got to check out late as there wasn't anyone checking in after us (Thank you so much ), the splash pool was nice and cooling after a day at Avalon Springs (which cost a little more than I would have preferred, but well worth it) and went crazy at the dried fruit place.

The unit was neat, and nicely furnished. Carina, the owner, was very welcoming and eager to assist. The only problem was loadshedding! And no provision for that! As a result, we could not enjoy our stay as all in all there were about 11 and a half hours of loadshedding per day! The unit was cold, and although there were wall heaters, we could not use them most of the time because of loadshedding. Understandably there was no Wi-Fi or TV during the loadshedding periods. There is nothing wrong with Montague 4 Seasons - but in future, we will not book any accommodation that does not make provision for loadshedding, i. e. an inverter or generator.
We had family from Alaska in the USA who joined us at Montagu4Seasons. They were impressed with the location and their self-catering unit and its setting in a beautiful garden away from the noise of the main street of Montagu. We all enjoyed the stay and will return.

Unfortunately, our inquiry about this was not followed up. The bed's mattress has been slept through and should be replaced.

Pardon the long list of problems, I did have a good stay, but I do feel certain issues could be addressed. The heated splash pool was pretty cold, even after remaining on for a long while. Not too negative, but it would be misinformed to say 'heated', really. I was also concerned with some of the cutlery and crockery and it's cleanliness. The pan, water bottle and 2 mugs were not entirely clean. However, the rest of the place was very clean and fresh. The stove was as hot as the fire of a thousand suns on the lower setting, I'm not sure how one can cook on it, but the other amenities worked perfectly well. The bedding was not the promised down duvet, but rather a sheet, a quilt, a throw and spare warm blankets. The owners are lovely people, very friendly and helpful and it's very secure inside.
The walls were full of 'mould' as was the bathroom ceiling. The carpets were incredibly dirty. The sofa was broken and very dirty. The outside cushion was torn. The place can be compared to a dirty camping ground.

We felt very much at home in one of Carina's places. She made us feel very welcome and also arranged for a discount at Quano Caves the next day. The place had more than enough space for us with two children and no one was in each other's way. Everything was beautifully clean and done with love, from the smallest flower to the fruit in the kitchen, every towel neatly folded and bed linen clean and crisp. Thank you very much! Oh, what can I say? Carina and her husband are 2 dear, kindest and the most humble people on earth.. We had a great time, especially my twins and boy. They received us very nicely and you feel so at home. The decor is too beautiful. Just sitting on your porch and looking at the beautiful garden and the most beautiful birds eating and drinking from the Akkerboom is incredible. Plekkie is located in the horstraat, so you can easily just park your vehicle (safely) and walk where you want to be. There is also a splash pool for warmer days.
