Montrose Barn is a beautiful unit, clean and tidy. The host was friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had a wonderful stay and can really recommend the unit. We also got unexpected extras such as fresh farm milk and delicious farmer's biscuits. The unit had everything we needed. Thanks for the experience. The children enjoyed the farm.
My husband and I took a late honeymoon and decided to take our newly married friends on their honeymoon. The place was amazing and so, so quiet.
Would just prefer that there would be WiFi and generator especially for load shedding.

Montrose Cottage was unexpectedly stylish, vintage-modern, and looked like it belonged in an interior decorating magazine! The attention to detail in the decor was gratifying, and all the furniture, carpets, kitchen equipment, etc. of high quality. For the discerning traveler!
Nice simple cottage.
The hospitality and helpfulness of the owner is phenomenal. He goes out of his way to make you feel at home and comfortable. Our teenagers walk around the farm and ask a lot of questions and he is always there to answer them and teach them a little more about the farm. We go home there every December and wouldn't trade our time there for anything. It's safe and the nature is breathtaking. Thank you so much, Alex, for being a host of a thousand.
Alex made us feel so at home. Everything you need was there with even more such as nice bean coffee, fresh farm milk and delicious biscuits. Even though we were actually there for business, we could just relax wonderfully every evening. It's a bit out of town and there isn't a TV, but we found that to be a bonus rather than a disadvantage.
We had a great time and the tranquility was wonderful. The delicious home-baked rusk and fresh farm milk was an absolute bonus. We will definitely visit again.
Me, my husband and our two teenagers have stayed there twice now. And now go home again in December 2021. The customer service from the owner is special and so from the heart. The children enjoy farm life and the beauty of nature. If you are looking for a place that is not even 10 min from Hartenbos, this is perfect, trust me you will come back to me and thank me for going. Montrose, thank you very much for the special feeling and treats.
The cottage is very comfortably furnished. Alex and Annelie are 2 exceptional hosts and hostesses. We had such a nice time on the farm. Everything was in place when we arrived. Was kindly received and everything was ready for a lovely stay of 8 days. It was with great sadness that we said goodbye to Alex, Annelie and the dog Tessa. Truly a place to remember.

Cottage is well equipped with all the necessary furniture and crockery. Braai area on the stoep where one has a view of beautiful surroundings. Offers the opportunity to go for a walk in the field and visit nearby places such as a strawberry farm. Near Hartenbos and Eight Bells Hotel which one can visit. Rooms are spacious and clean. One has enough privacy and is touched by the heavenly silence. The couple from the farm are special people who have a passion for making you feel at home. Can recommend accommodation!

Warmly received by the owners and the unit was neat and clean. Located right next to Hartenbos close to the highway. No TV, but wonderful atmosphere. Would recommend this unit to anyone.
We enjoyed our 2 days here very, very much and thoroughly tested our visit to the stoep with late barbecues. Incredibly clean and tidy. Coffee, tea, cookies, sugar, milk, everything that should be there. The beautiful garden with its beautiful roses. It was really a privilege to be able to go home there. Will definitely visit there again.
The hospitality of Alex and Annetjie will always stay with us. We especially enjoyed grinding the coffee beans for a nice cup of peasant comfort. Takes one far back to our childhood days. We will visit again in the future and stay longer for sure.
