The kitchen is equipped with tea- and coffee-making facilities, a gas stove, and a gas fridge. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table, and the lounge is equipped with a cosy fireplace.
A gas geyser, gas stove and fridge, oil lanterns and battery-operated lights make this the ideal place to escape electricity and just enjoy the peaceful area. Solar power is also available for lights, Wi-Fi, and phone charging.
Outdoor braai facilities are available to watch the stars at night. Well-trained dogs are welcome with prior arrangements, and a cleaning service is available on request at an additional cost.

A rustic overnight in the eastern Free State. We traveled the dirt road and were greeted by a natural grass garden, as we walked the narrow path upto the slate porch and entered the small rock and thatch house we knew we have now arrived in yesteryear. From the dated furnishings to the old bathroom door, this is living a century ago. The cosy cottage offered a gas fridge and stove. Paraffin lanterns for light fills the air at night. There is solar lights and solar power to recharge your phone, with added WiFi, but we opted for a campfire and watched the full moon rise on 17 January 2022. Mooiplaas are for those who value nature. We truly enjoyed the simplicity, and appreciated the comforts of clean sheets, towels and a hot shower. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating. We hope to be back soon for a week long stay.

Mooiplaas is a beautifully rustic simple sleep-over spot with option for a short sunset and sunrise walk to stretch the legs between the long drives. Dog friendly and welcoming hosts.
Was delicious! All that was really missing was a decent braai! The rest is delicious. And the stove was replaced with just a gas plate.
The place is very neat and very peaceful.
More care needs to be taken in providing decent cutlery plates cups towels and so on.
