Appreciated our stay. Willing to provide breakfasts for the road early morning (ready at 5 am) so could make border post. Very kind and happy space!

Parking small, you can't get out if you want to buy something, nor can you buy drinking water in the rooms or at reception.
Can make the Honeymoon Suite more romantic e.g. give customers more options e.g. such as food, more info about Moonriver Guest House, slippers and gowns for the couples, clean the room every day. My wife and I wanted to enjoy a romantic meal on the deck, but upon arrival at the deck it was dirty and the drinks bottles of the guests who used the deck the night before were all over the tables.
Accommodation was perfect for an overnight stop. Gave a good breakfast and on request cooked us a nice meal which was ready upon our arrival.
Very hospitable owner and helpful. We had problems with our pram because it was too high for parking, the owner arranged one, two three for us to store our pram overnight in a storage of another nearby guest house. The owner himself drove along and went to help store the cart. Our family room was very nice and tidy, with DStv, air conditioning and a small fridge with drinks that you can use and then only pay the next thing for what you used. There is a wooden deck on the bank of the river where we sat quietly and admired the beautiful nature. There was also wood and a braai available at the wooden deck if we wanted to braai. We had the most delicious breakfast the next morning. Our choice was omelettes and they were some of the best ever! So carefully and beautifully prepared and served. The next morning, the owner drove with us again in his vehicle to hook up our cart. We will definitely visit Moonriver Guest House again and can highly recommend it. Thank you very much for all your efforts during our stay!

Great place. Especially the Jacuzzi. Electrical blankets for the winter. Small spaces for the minority of challenges and also the fact that the microwave is not in the Honeymoon suite. Air-con needs a tune up especially the swing function. The beautiful tiles on the wall of the bathroom, why don't they clean it in between at the shower's side. However Moonriver is great, I am just comparing according to the 4 star rating. Had an amazing time there.
My father remained. Just a pity the air conditioning didn't work. Otherwise he enjoyed some time.

The rate is high for what you get. No trash cans in the bathroom or bedroom, the presentation of the buffet breakfast could be better as well as the variety on offer. Hot breakfast nice, just listen to order.
Parking is a problem. Room was a bit small and there wasn't even toilet paper. With breakfast a plate of food is just slapped down in front of you. I have experienced much better value for money and better service at other places. Honest truth, I could pay less at Dessert Casino Inn and gotten much better service and food. A person really gets the feeling that you as a guest aren't number one on Moonriver's priority list. Exceptionally disappointed!
They rate themselves as a 4* establishment. Rubbish! My room was 2,5 by 2,5 metres, a 60 x 30 cm cupboard and a hook on the wall for hanging clothes. Bathroom (shower, basin, toilet) had not a single shelf, even in the shower - just leave your toothbrush on the toilet seat. Breakfast was mediocre to poor. Insufficient parking. On the good side: Beautiful setting and the staff (one person only seen) do the best they can.
The staff is not very well trained. The rooms were not accurately advertised. Rooms are very neat and the location is excellent. However, it is not very quiet around the guest house, as it is located in the middle of the town.
Management is very helpful. The stay was fantastically nice. I would recommend it anytime. Management is very helpful. Excellent view.
A room for two was rented. Everything was ready on arrival. Since we drove early, a takeaway was prepared. Will go there again.

Neat place, Frans made it nice there, his food and cocktails were delicious, always friendly and goes out of his way to make it as nice as possible for you. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the rest of the staff! I was disappointed in my room. Spa shower not working. Parking is really a problem. You must always tow your vehicle away. There are 7 rooms, but only parking for 4. We were too close to the dining room, late sleep is out! Don't believe everything you see and read on the internet.
The pool was out of order. The staff was not always available. Had to struggle for an hour to get someone to remove the vehicle we had parked the morning of our departure.
Room was lovely , but was not serviced in the time we were there. I did lock the door but surely they have a service key to be able to go in and at least make the bed and clean the bathroom. Overall it was a pleasant and peaceful stay and very ideally situated for business. I appreciated the electric blanket on the bed and the heating in the room. The guest manger was very helpful. One request though is that a mirror in the bedroom would be a great.
Just a pity the room we had is at the reception which is a bit noisy in the evening. Otherwise, quite comfortable.

We stayed one night on the way back from Namibia. We are sorry to report that we had to ask for clean bed linen. When we opened the bed at 21:00, the bed had only been made after the previous people had slept there, with obviously used sheets on it which made us cringe. It was a big disappointment.. We couldn't find anyone in the guest house and called the mobile number. They came to cover the bed (although I had to ask that they replace the duvet cover as well). They then also covered the king size bed with a single top sheet.
The guesthouse is on the river, beautiful! Unfortunately, across the river, loud music is played until late at night and it's not good for tired travelers.
They got a simple bacon and eggs breakfast wrong and when I asked for it, I waited 15 minutes then ate cold eggs and left.
The accommodation was neat, but not clean. The bar fridge's price list was full of coffee stains. Upington is particularly cold in winter and with only a sheet and thin duvet in a room without any sun. We had to ask for blankets. The first night was so cold, there was not much sleep. Extremely disappointed.
My husband and I were at Moonriver on our first and last night of our honeymoon. It is sure to be the best first and last night of the honeymoon. The atmosphere was very calm, just what we needed.
Will definitely stay at Moonriver again!

Friendly reception and very helpful with luggage. Safe parking, nice clean room and trouble with dinner.
The people are very friendly and the breakfast was incredibly tasty. The single room is just very small, but the other guests who slept in the double rooms say that it is big and comfortable. You have a very nice view of the river when you are on the deck.
We didn't like sharing with guest in the garage who has to use the same entrance. The family was not like that in private. It was, to sum it up, a different experience.
The breakfast was the worst we had ever had - ice cold and very unappetising. I suggest you seriously look into the catering department of this otherwise lovely establishment.
The air conditioning was not working when we arrived and it was 40ºC.
It needs a lot of maintenance and the space of the guest house are shared by 7 other guest house.

The person in charge was very helpful, helped us a few times with the TV's program setting. Everything was ready upon our arrival. We will recommend the Moonriver to all my friends.
The cook goes out of his way with the food and we ate and slept wonderfully.
The guest house is really nice and well located.
Hospitality that one will only find in the Northern Cape.
Moonriver is in a beautiful setting, and the hosts take great care of you.
