The ideal place to stay if you want to explore the beauty of the surroundings and return to a central location in the evening. Unfortunately, Machadodorp itself is quite dilapidated, but the surroundings are still beautiful. Beautiful old house with a nice kitchen.

This house has everything you need, beauty, old time charm and history. Comfortable, clean and a beautiful garden. Thank you to the owners for not changing anything on this property but instead keeping the house as original as possible making your guests feel as though they are taken back in history when staying there. Definitely a property we will visit again.

At first appearance when driving into Machadodorp, we were a little concerned about the location, and the first impression of the house was not great. But once we got in and settled, it was great. The house was very clean, we felt safe, and even went for a walk in the evening. The only criticism is that with young kids, WiFi and TV are a must. We couldn't get the TV box to work and there was no WiFi. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Nostalgic old house with plank floors and steel ceilings. Clean and tidy with all the amenities one needs. The hostess was very friendly and helpful.

What I expected was a nostalgic small town. A farmhouse with a nice veranda where you can sit and drink coffee. What we got is a town that has gone completely backwards. Roads don't have potholes, just bits of tar sticking out here and there. Most houses are dilapidated. The bench on the porch is unusable. There was even a bird nesting in it. And your view from the porch is dry grass and the barbed wire that goes around the yard. We got there just before dark. But struggled for over an hour just to get the gate open. The owner was very friendly and then asked her brother to drive in from the farm to help us. The inside of the house is very neat and you can see they have put a lot of effort into it. It's shower is in a bathtub. There is no place to hold on when getting in and out. So my elderly parents could not use it. After 2 weeks in the game park it was something they were really looking forward to. Beautiful gas stove. Just a pity there were no matches or a lighter to light it with. 3rd room's handle came off and we couldn't open the door again. Fortunately, I decided to let my little boy sleep with me. Otherwise he would have been stuck inside. Bedside lights and TV also did not work. Boiler kept tripping. Overall. Owners are very friendly, but that town will never see me again.

We had a very nice stay. It was so peaceful. In the afternoons we had a great time sitting on the stoep with coffee. The garden is beautiful and big - our two big dogs enjoyed themselves. The house is old, but spotless and tidy. We experienced excellent, friendly service.

We didn't get into Machadodorp until after 8 in the evening and there was a power cut which made it extremely difficult to see where to go and finally find the guest house. Bg. is in no way a fault or problem of the guest house, but a suggestion would be to possibly put a sign or something at the entrance to the town (from the highway) and also to make the signs on the property more visible make.

Slept very well. GPS just doesn't take you to the right place. Would just love to have a carport or garage for our car.

Our only problem was that the living room window could not be locked and there was no burglar alarm. So anyone could enter the house during the night.

This is a beautiful and cute guest house that we can recommend to anyone traveling between Gauteng and the Kruger National Park. The wooden floors and traditional furniture have a rustic charm. The place was very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. The owner kindly followed our journey there and made sure we arrived safely. We were pleasantly surprised with the fact that when you book one room no other bookings are accepted, which means you have the whole house to yourself.

The house is great and close enough to Greys Inn Hotel if you wish to have supper without having to cook. The area looks a little unsafe but the accommodation itself is fine. We used it as an overnight stay coming back from Kruger and it was more than adequate and very affordable.

This beautiful old house is a gem waiting to be discovered. We were delighted with a fire that made us feel at home right from the get-go. Immaculately clean and everything was beautiful. We could even park our vehicle in the garage which made things easier for us. Thank you very much for the wonderful stay and friendliness. Clean and neat with old school charm. Enough wood for fire in stove. Chocolate on the bed. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Nice bedding with heaters in the rooms. Only thing missing was a dressing table with plug for hairdryer. Great value for money.
