83 guests' feedbackAccommodation was excellent, neat and clean. Will definitely stay there again if on our way.
It is an amazing place. The place is very big. We had a great time as a family of 5 and really enjoyed the animals on the farm. Also a very nice walk.
Tarentaal cottage is really beautiful and the service was friendly, helpful and immediate.
It was truly one of the most enjoyable weekends and one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We stayed in the Mount Everest Cabin, the most charming little log cabin, half hidden, completely private and surrounded by the most beautiful mountains. The views from there are just breathtaking, we couldn't get enough! And the biggest gift was that overnight the landscape turned into a white snowy winter wonderland. an unexpected snowstorm in September, bitterly cold, but oh so beautiful! Maci is friendly and helpful, we felt right at home! I can't wait to come back to this gem of a place, there is so much more to see and discover!
We were at Mount Everest for a function but would also go back anytime for a getaway. Men can enjoy walking around the farm and there is plenty to keep you busy. We stayed in an A-frame unit, but I was also in some of the other larger units. The only negative comment I can make is that the entrance to the A-frame units is a bit awkward for taller people as the stair rail is very close to the sliding door. I would definitely like to stay here again!
Very nice place. The people are very friendly and helped with every question I have. Would definitely recommend it.
It was incredibly fun. At Mount Everest Guest Farm, your view of the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. Quite cold outside, but it's winter, and the heater, blankets etc. make it nice to stay warm inside. The various goats on the farm, ducks on the pond, chickens and turkeys at the reception's lawn all create a peaceful atmosphere. The only thing missing were hangers for the wardrobe.
Very nice stay and walk.
Incredibly beautiful place, perfect for relaxing.
It is a very beautiful place. We had a great time and the people are very friendly. It is a peaceful destination for a weekend away.
This was such a great find. Beautiful area. Great climbing. The hut was so nice and warm and fully kitted out. Can't wait to go back.
Really enjoyed ourselves, lots of animals to view. Stayed in Arendskop, which was really private and up against the mountain, with spectacular views. Will definitely go again for a longer period.
Check-in and check-out went smoothly. The road looks good to Mt. Everest. Very friendly staff. The house is completely private and it's a wonderful break from the busy life. Many game species on the farm. Our dogs were together and I think they enjoyed it even more than we did. The bed has crisp, pure white linen and the place is very nice and clean.
Just the most breathtaking views from Mount Everest Guest Farm. Completely immersed in nature with undisturbed panoramic views of the mountains. If you're looking for a getaway with peace and tranquility, I can't recommend Mount Everest Guest Farm enough. The best part: Pet friendly! And also a great mid-way point from Jhb to Dbn. The staff, specifically Maci and Shorlty, are incredibly kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to assist in every possible way. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay.
Unfortunately we could only stay 1 night, but it was lovely, lovely view, lots of wildlife to see, had a nice walk. Very large bathroom, sink and bath need new life, they don't show well because they are already stained or peeling off, but were spotless. Everything we needed was there, communal braai area was very cosy.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mount Everest Guest Farm. Good walks, beautiful views, and spacious accommodation. Quality linen and very comfortable beds. Wonderful to sit on the patio and watch the wildlife. A tranquil place to relax. Friendly, helpful hosts and friendly dogs. Adequately equipped kitchen with a gas stove, good-sized fridge/freezer, and microwave. The dirt road is regularly graded, so it was no problem for our Hyundai i10.
The views are breathtaking, with a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking. The 'eco-cabin' has everything you need, is homely and well cared for.
It is an absolute experience. The farm is picturesque, easy to keep you busy for hours. The customer service is fantastic! We will definitely go there again! There is still so much we would like to see on the farm.
This is worth more than 5 stars. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
Just wow! This place was simple, yet beautiful. Every need was catered for, and what a treat to wake up to a zebra and horse chilling outside our eco hut in the morning.
Very nice. Will be there soon again.
I had a very nice stay and rest at Mount Everest Guest Farm. It was great just walking among the animals and in the field.
Most enjoyable, beautiful place.
My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend away. We stayed in the secluded eco cabins which, although off the grid, have everything you need. We hiked up to Eagles Head which was challenging but well worth the effort. The trail is not clearly marked, so it was very slippery coming down. The farm is ideally located, not too far from the N3 but far enough to enjoy the pristine beauty. Maybe bring some comfy camp chairs to enjoy the view from the verandah. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
Great 2 night stay, we are quite a noisy bunch but had enough space for ourselves that we didn't disturb other guests. Kids loved the wild game roaming around the place. Very neat and spacious, we used both Renosta and Zebra cottages.
Our stay at Mount Everest Game Lodge was truly unforgettable. Nestled between three stunning mountains, the lodge offered breathtaking views from our eco-friendly cabin. Visiting in August, we were greeted by rolling golden hills prepped for replanting, creating a serene and almost surreal landscape that stretched endlessly as far as the eye could see. The seclusion and privacy provided by the lodge were exactly what we needed for a peaceful retreat. The unique rock formations added to the natural beauty, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Nice and clean place to stay. Will recommend for anyone.
Would have liked the geyser to be a bit hotter. Had a great adventure hiking up Arendkop and strolling around the farm.
Great for a short stay - safe for kids to independently explore, interesting buck and birding.
Lovely accommodation, neat, clean, friendly reception, with a peaceful environment and incredible view. Lovely experience for the soul.
The management regularly checked with WhatsApp whether we were staying comfortably with the unexpected heavy snow. The day before the snow, and our arrival, she let us know about the expected snow and we could prepare to buy warmer clothes. It made the unexpected heavy snow an even more wonderful experience.
Peaceful accommodation in a beautiful environment. Units are equipped with everything guests may need.
Yes, had a nice stay. Only the discomfort with the interior stairs being uncomfortably close to the sliding glass door is definitely a major negative issue.
Thank you, it was great. Arendskop is comfortable, neat, and clean. The wind can be very strong, so do not leave anything outside. It would be awesome if the bridge at the dam by the main gate could be upgraded. It would be an awesome picnic/sundowner spot (it is not in a great condition and might not be safe to use). Not sure if it is on Mount Everest property though.
Renoster was well-furnished and very comfortable, spacious and warm for mid-winter. Gas heater. Well-equipped kitchen. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of cupboard space. Lots of tame wildlife and farm animals roam freely - the children were thrilled. Well-maintained and safe surroundings. Scenic, rustic setting. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely dam with island and bridge. Plenty of hiking trails and scenic driving roads. Our 8 adults and 3 children had a most enjoyable 4-day stay. Will go back. Highly recommended.
Animals and sunsets are beautiful, neat and friendly.
Enjoyed peace and quiet.
Very nice stay. Would only recommend that all the units have full stoves. Hostess goes out of her way to help you. It counts a lot that you can take your dog children with you.
Yes, very pleasant indeed.
Quiet, comfortable, open spaces. Nice stopover to the Underberg from Joburg.
We had a great stay and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The environment is very beautiful.
Slept well and rested wonderfully and viewed the surroundings. Stressed about what to do if there is a fire or a fire around our chalet. Mother Nature was just not kind to us, we experienced strong winds and unfortunately could not barbecue during the period here. Also saw a lot of wildlife and tried to hook a fish (´◡`).
We really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it. The views on the farm are beautiful and the wild animals create a very nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at Volstruis. Beautiful views of the landscape and mountains. Recommended for a quick breakaway.
Cabin was perfect for our stay, bed was super comfy and we slept well every night. Walked amongst the animals and the scenery is amazing. At night the sky is full of stars. Quiet, relaxing, we didn't want to leave. We didn't come for the WiFi, but it is intermittent and wind seems to be an issue for it. The host is amazing and was in touch often to check that everything was alright. Would definitely recommend as a place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Our stay was beautiful. The unit was spotlessly clean. The view from and around the unit was breathtaking. The animals roaming were beautiful to see. We spent the entire weekend indoors and enjoyed the rainy Saturday evening. Excellent customer service too.
The surroundings are beautiful and the place we stayed in was very neat and safe and had everything. We just had to take our food. It is very beautiful there and will definitely go again.
Home was painstakingly tidy, free WiFi gave no problems and everything you could possibly need was provided. Definitely a must visit! The scenery and fantastic views are breathtaking! Lovely walking trails, although unmarked, are phenomenal. Beautiful wildlife that was well looked after was definitely a bonus. Will definitely visit again. Silence and hospitality were great!
It is a wonderful getaway for a few days. The views are breathtaking, and it is a truly amazing place to spend time.
Apart from the beautiful nature and the wildlife that we saw, Mount Everest's unit where we spent the night was elegantly and stylishly furnished and equipped. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to share in your piece of paradise. Highly recommended. Would have liked to stay longer if we could at all.
Sitting on our 'Stoep' we had about 120+ wild animals (buck, zebra, ostrich, fowl deer, wildebeest, etc.) grazing 30m away from our chalet. What a breathtaking experience. We didn't expect this at all! The most beautiful view of the mountain from outside our windows, clean and well-equipped chalet (WiFi, smart TV), and the owners providing generator backup during load shedding. The hosts checked in on us throughout our stay via WhatsApp. We will definitely go back!
We stayed in Tarrentaal. The eco cabin is well laid out and has everything you need. The animals came to our porch every morning and we had a delicious barbecue. Maci is so friendly and was ready to help with anything. It was also the first time I received a WhatsApp from the owner the day before to hear how things were going and if we needed anything special. We will definitely visit again!
This stay really exceeded our expectations! Mount Everest is very well appointed with excellent attention to detail. Exactly what one needs in a self-catering unit. Our place was very clean, tidy, and comfortable! Good quality bedding, towels, etc. was a great bonus. Excellent location. Beautiful view and nice privacy. Check-in/check-out process was very comfortable, and communication with staff was very comfortable. They were very helpful! Would recommend anytime, and will definitely visit again!
Get exactly what you pay for. Everything clean and comfortable.
The WiFi speed was unfortunately very poor (mobile phone network would have been better). Should you want to work from there, I suggest that you should not rely on the Wifi.
It was so nice and peaceful and the people were so friendly and helpful. Everything was exactly as in the photos. We had a great time. Thank you.
We would love to go again with some friends. Thank you.
Maci and Kobus are excellent hosts. Beautiful farm, what a privilege to experience it. Our family of 5 adults had a wonderful weekend. Had a great sleep, visited, walked, rested and laughed, despite the freezing cold. Climbed 2 mountains and our dogs could do everything together. We definitely want to go again.
We saw many animals. It was an experience to be able to get so close to the goats. They are really very tame. Our next visit will definitely be in the summer.
We were looking for a halfway point on our way to the coast, and when I saw Mount Everest I was keen to stay there as we stayed there when I was a young child. We really enjoyed our stay! The rooms were fully equipped and there were some good surprises (the quality of kitchen utensils, smart TV etc. was really great). We loved watching all the animals being fed in the afternoon! Felt like all the buck, zebra and wildebeest were loved and cared for like pets. Lovely stay!
We really had an amazing time at Mount Everest. If we could we would have given more than 5 stars. The location is amazing. Eco cabin is very nicely equipped and the service incredibly professional. Thank you very much.
Fantastic. Possibly one of the nicest places we've stayed, and we've stayed at a few! A bench or 2 around the outside fireplace would be nice. We'll be back!
The privacy of the unit was highly valued. The animals were a big plus! Would recommend the unit to anyone anytime!
The weather was extremely wet, but most roads had cement strips to help with the mud! It was also particularly cold, but the bedding, duvet and extra blankets were cozy. With little sun, the battery's power went too low, but the staff made sure he arrived charged! The wooden house means that there can be no fire - an outdoor barbecue does not help in rainy weather. Lucky for a gas stove and oven! We did forget our corkscrew at home, and didn't find one in the drawer either. Surely the staff would have brought one if we had asked! It wasn't important enough. The view of the mountain (if we could get our noses out the door between rain showers) was more than enough! The dirt road outside to the farm was scary for us, slippery when we had to drive on after the weekend!
Nice private location with all the necessary accessories. Host and wife very helpful. Environment is unique!
Wish we could have stayed longer, it was so nice! Incredibly beautiful farm, animals, view and house! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
The view is breathtaking and the hiking trails make it very special. The way in which access is organized is also very positive for visitors.
Our stay was very relaxing. The views are stunning and it was really peaceful. Our dog absolutely loved it as well. Will definitely go back!
Unique experience. Very neat and it was a nice experience to be so far in the mountains so almost alone. The unit is very nicely furnished. Environment and nature are extremely beautiful.
See stars.
Lovely accommodation - very clean and well equipped. Wouldn't say no to an electric blanket on the main bed. Was a treat to watch the game being fed. I was fortunate to be sitting outside at the right time. I'll be back for sure.
Really lovely stay - the host was friendly and communicated what was necessary. The farm and game were lovely to watch. A perfect babymoon.
Macci is very friendly and helpful and this makes any break pleasant. Cabin was perfect, clean, tidy and comfortable. We will definitely come and rest there again.
Was beautiful nature and animals.
We had a very nice stay. The place was peaceful and we felt very safe. Would recommend to someone who wants to rest and get away from the busy city for a few days.
It's a gem in the woods, comfortable and cozy can't wait to go again. Would recommend it 100 times over.
We had a nice stay and slept well. The nature is beautiful. We just don't like the 3 spiders we saw. There is a can of poison missing in the cupboard.
Beautiful surroundings and location of cottage. Accommodation has everything you need. Beautiful! We also really enjoyed the wildlife on the farm.
Situated in a peaceful and quiet setting. Beautiful mountain right behind the accommodation. Not luxurious accommodation, but more than sufficient. Highly recommend.
Awesome stay, fun, adventurous.
