The view is incredible. We fell in love with the village within a few hours. The hospitality with which we were received immediately made us feel comfortable. The owner and his wife went out of their way to make everything as comfortable as possible. Thank you very much for "playing tour leader" and chatting at the dam wall. We would love to visit again.
A delightful destination after a long day on the road. Peaceful farm setting. Super friendly and accommodating hosts. The unit was perfectly equipped for our needs and the bed was really comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

The hosts were lovely and the little town has its charms. The setting of the village and the guest house is spectacular.

Lady Gray is a charming town with rich history.
The stone cottage was nice and cool, since it was very hot when we were there. The shower was dreadful, the wifi didn't work and there were no braai tongs. Since the owners just went on holiday when we were there we couldn't report it to anyone. . The pictures of the grounds are a bit misleading, no lovely lawns and flowers and zebras. They are trying to sell the place so don't really care about guests.

We felt at home from the first minute. The host was helpful and it was lovely to be able to rest with the waterfall and farm sounds.
We enjoyed a beautifully maintained self-catering. Everything you need is available. The animals on the farm (zebra) and more. Friendly hostess. One recommended.

We had a great time. Everything is comfortable and there is nothing too short in the unit. It's a beautiful world and there are plenty of places to go for a walk. The owners were very nice and helpful. Really worth staying the night there.
We definitely got more than just value for our money - the room we stayed in was spacious and tidy, the kitchen area well equipped and the veranda lovely to sit and relax. The people of Mountain Charcoal Guest House made us feel very welcome and even the animals were friendly. I would definitely recommend Mountain Charcoal Guest House and would happily stay there again myself.
