Enjoyed the cabin and the dam with our spoilt dogs. Long walks along the dam and up the mountains (for the fit) with great views and some game to be seen. Jackals remind you of them at night while keeping warm inside at the fireplace.
Very nice spot to be part of nature. Beautiful dam. All the basics one needs are available. Nice stopover from Gauteng to KZN.
We loved our short stay at Mountain Rest. Sadly we arrived late and had to leave early, but the beds were comfortable and everything was spotless. They gladly catered for our pets, for which we were very grateful. Would love to go back and spend more time. The lake and environment were spectacular.

We couldn't have asked for more. It is the most beautiful setting and perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the city. The cottage was perfect and the treats even more so. Will definitely go back again.

Wow, wow, we had a great weekend. The house is furnished with everything you need, the view is amazing. It is a beautiful farm. The quiet and peacefulness is just what we needed, wish we could have stayed longer. George and Tamara received us very kindly. We had a lovely walk and enjoyed the nature. Will definitely go again.
We were very well received and just had the best time. Everything you need for a getaway was there. It was incredibly fun and my husband caught a lot of bass. We intend to go there again within the next month. Many thanks to Mountain Rest, you deserve every star.
Mountain Rest is a piece of heaven on earth, the wild horses that stopped by, the hours of fishing at the pond, really well rested. The stretch of dirt road to Mountain Rest can be a challenge for normal motor vehicles if it has been raining.
Fantastic venue for those seeking to get out of the city. Facilities had been great with lots of outdoor activities. Hosts had been very friendly and accommodating.
This is the cutest place I've been in a long time. One does not even miss the fact that there is no power. The unit is very well equipped with every little thing one would need. There are even board games and books to keep your family busy just like in the old days. We also had fun fishing! Thank you very much for the nice visit.

Small and cosy, but for a weekend it's perfect, lovely fireplace for cold winter days, big pond for fishing and canoeing and nice place for walking. safe and quiet. here you will be able to really rest. No cell phone signal, but perfect!
