59 guests' feedbackMy brother and I thoroughly enjoyed the silence. The view was beautiful, especially the mountains. Our reception was very good. I would go and relax there again anytime.
The stay was so peaceful and we really enjoyed it! The host was great, and the dogs were so friendly and well behaved. It was so good to see stars again! Well suited for children.
The path up to the cottage is a bit challenging, but not difficult at all if you have the right vehicle. Would highly recommend the place, especially if you are an outdoor enthusiast.
The place was as advertised. We enjoyed our time there, but it got very cold because the weather suddenly changed and it rained. So, if you don't like cold weather, bring heating items like a hot water bottle or a heater.

Mountain View is a great place to stay in Badplaas. It is peaceful and the owner Wimpie is a great guy.

Firstly, the dirt road is not very comfortable, no car will be able to drive there safely, secondly, their privacy in bathrooms is not good at all, windows are not shaded, curtains are completely transparent. No coffee or sugar put out, at least I made provision, but we travel often, it just gives a welcome feeling on arrival. No atmosphere-creating lights outside, pitch black! No security on the farm either, makes you uneasy.
Challenge experienced ,the other chalet bathroom basin was not working properly only have hot water , not cold which created negative imapct to us. And on saturday morning when we prapare to go to swim, the swimming pool was not clean, we have to request prior , also created negative ipmact amine , woner and agnet know for quite sometimes about the bookings , in nutshell can say things were nite well orgainise for us.

Cleanest clean place in the "bush". Calm atmosphere, I don't like big dogs, but the Great Danes are so calm and don't bother you at all. Great visit, looking forward to the next time.

For those who are satisfied with the minimum, this will suffice. We love dogs, but it bothers you when everyone rushes into your place. Very nice view and lovely silence, but some places need a bit of renovation. After all, we slept nice and warm on a bitterly cold weekend.

Andre is a very friendly and helpful person. He welcomed us and explained everything and checked in every day to see if we were still satisfied. The resort is very neat, as are the cottages we stayed in. We really can't complain about anything. Will definitely go and relax there again.
We found a neat and comfortable place. Our no. 2 house was unfortunately at the playground and the children of no. 3 and 4 were there all the time. Our Yorkies couldn't handle the screams and games. They barked a lot and were well behaved towards the other dogs, which we do not know. They always go with us when we are on vacation and are used to other dogs. We went away every day. Next time we will ask for no. 7 or 8 so we can be away from the playground.
It was only after we had booked that it was explained to us that a further R300 deposit must be paid which will then be refunded electronically. Such information must already be mentioned in the advertisement. It feels like a cow being milked. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.
Accommodation unit very good, road to accommodation extremely bad.
The atmosphere is reviving and calming,you can feel the spirit of tranquility.It is perfect if you need to escape the busy noisey city life and its pollution.At Mountain View you can smell the fresh air from the trees while enjoying the beautiful sight of the mountain.Andre' the host is very caring( the man of God)and helping as well.

A quiet getaway weekend with beautiful scenery and the mountain view right in front of your door. The Chalets are tidy with only the essentials. Nice and private with everything you need within a 4 kilometer radius around the accommodation.
It was good value for money and the scenery is stunning. The road is a bit bad, but not impossible. A TV would have been nice.
The caretaker is friendly, but a bit of a nuisance. It is a very peaceful environment. Beautiful view and many birds. Amenities are very neglected.

We were received very kindly and nothing was too much for the owners to make us comfortable. We were there with our grandchildren but it was raining a lot so the children were indoors and got bored, then the owners came to our rescue by making their children's toys and games available. We will definitely go back again and would highly recommend Mountain View Retreat.
We were worried about the dirt road, but it was not too bad. Had a lot of fun. Take many mosquito repellents along!
Although not luxurious, we had a wonderful stay. Beds very comfortable. Wimpie communicated from the start on how to get there. Very close to Badplaas and suitable for day visit. We felt very welcome and could switch off from the hustle and bustle of the city. If we are in the area, we will definitely stay here again.
We did not give time to view thoroughly because we were tired, but we're going back in September.

The chalet was well equipped, clean and tidy. The site is nice and tidy with a swimming pool and a beautiful "view" over the whole area. This is truly a retreat and I will definitely go again!

This was a convenient stop en route to the Kruger Park. It was peaceful and quiet, and offered value for money for a family of four adults and one young child. Nothing fancy, but clean and adequately equipped.

Very good telephone and email service with directions. Friendly welcome in the evening upon our arrival there. The chalet was neat and clean. The geyser was apparently specially turned on beforehand, but still cold water late at night. Then my clever man found the switch (which was in the "off" position, pushed it "on" and voila, hot water! It's the ideal place for a quiet weekend or a few days away from the city bustle. The dirt road up was just badly washed out and full of bumps and rocks and caused damage to the vehicle's tyres.Nevertheless enjoyed the view, quietness and safety.
Bathroom soap full of hair. Ants everywhere. People didn't know we booked. Poison is scattered everywhere. Cook rat on pillow upon arrival. Fry dirty. No, will never go there again.
There were dogs that licked the braai stand. Not enough light at night. Rooms not tidy. Not even a car port nor a security guard in the yard.
