It was the nicest place to spend the night after 4 hours of driving. Everything one needs is there. Kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle and dishwasher. Bathroom with bath and shower. Quiet and peaceful.

Friendly welcome. Room is small, but ideal for an overnight stay on the way to the sea. Very quiet and restaurants are close by to eat something. Walls are only thin, so it's unfortunate if people next door are talking on mobile phones at half past three in the morning, then we're also awake, but otherwise it was very convenient.

Good place to stop over while travelling from KZN. The area is beautiful, the room was comfortable and clean, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. The room itself had a mini fridge and microwave. They also provide a kettle and tea and coffee. Plus, the bathroom has sachets of shower gel and shampoo. If you take your pets with, there is more than enough space available to take them on walks around the property. The staff were friendly, and key retrieval and return was easy.

The apartment is clean, but gives the feeling that renovation is needed. Nothing extraordinary about the accommodation, so the price is too high compared to other similar accommodation in Harrismith. On our journey from Centurion to a place in the Drakensberg, we had to wait for family from the Cape and then decided to stay here. It was a very good decision, good value for money and good coffee places are a short walk away.

We booked a family room with 2 single beds but got a room with 2 double beds which made the sleeping arrangements uncomfortable. The room is also not as well furnished as in previous years. The room next door played loud music and made noise until early in the morning.

It's always nice to stay over when you're halfway to KZN or coming back, because it's centrally located and there are nice places to eat that can satisfy your hunger. I think that work will have to start on the mattresses and the smaller things in the bathrooms, such as the shower racks and towels. The mattresses are done and the towels are already torn with holes in them, I don't think you want to give such things to your guests to use. Furthermore, I can say that I always get the best customer service from Mountainview Inn. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

My husband went for a run up the mountain early and I was a bit restless afterwards. Furthermore, everything was neat and comfortable. Beds sleep very well and the bedding is fresh and comfortable. Lots of TV channels to choose from. Shower is nice and hot and the water pressure is awesome.

Unfortunately there was a lot of noise due to the eateries next door. The duvet inside on the double bed was cooked. It was clean and tidy. There is no security or access control. I didn't feel safe enough to open windows, so felt a bit anxious. The air conditioner works well.
Bathroom needs upgrading as well as the kitchen area and small details such as the kitchen trash can, only one plastic bucket, bathtub and toilet have stains. Bedding was also wrinkled and had stains on it.

We struggled to locate reception in the dark and rain as there were no proper signposts that we could see. At reception we were kindly welcomed by a young man who was still new and did not know how to handle the payment. He had to call someone and also didn't know you were referring to the person standing in front of you as a guest. I believe this can be attributed to a lack of training. The rooms are neat and sufficient for basic needs. However, the mattresses are worn and should be replaced.

We pitched our tent and used Mountain View in the Bergview complex as an overnight stop on our way to the Western Cape from Durban. It was during the week and as a senior citizen I also got another 20% discount, for which I was very grateful. The facilities are very neat, clean and everything we needed was there: power point at the stand, dishwashing area, hot water for washing up and showering, sinks and mirrors, etc. The campsite is fenced and the gate is locked at night and a security guard is on duty. We were given keys to the ablution block and also the gate, so we could move in and out if needed. The campsite is close to a petrol station and there are also other shops and places at the complex. It wasn't dead quiet during the night, because the traffic passes quite close on the bypass and the heavy vehicles can make quite a bit of noise. Other than that, there were no other disturbances. If we tour past there again, this is an overnight stop to definitely keep in mind. We mentioned to the booking office that we couldn't find GPS coordinates of Mountain View anywhere, which caused us, as first time strangers, to have quite a bit of trouble finding the place and had to call the office first and also ask for directions in town. It would be a further plus if the coordinates are available.

I moved our stay a day earlier and because there are 2 ladies doing the bookings, the lady on duty when we arrived was not aware of the change. We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom house located in the Caravan Park. We also received part of our money back for the oversight. The house was clean, well looked after and very easy to find. It had everything you could need for an overnight trip. The ladies at the reception were very friendly and welcoming. I would most definitely recommend MountainView Inn to anyone looking for a safe, convenient stopover.

The room was clean and tidy and everything worked. The room we were allocated looks nothing like the photo on the website - I think we got one of the discount rooms, across the road from the complex. The bar across the road was a bit noisy, but at least it calmed down later. Restaurants on the coast and keur are within walking distance and it's ideal for a stopover on the way to Natal.

It was very clean and tidy, our bed was broken on one side where my husband slept and our neighbours' dog was howling from early evening and from before 4 in the morning. It was very unpleasant, especially because we wanted to rest for our long road ahead.
I arrived very late, there was no one to help me. The place is close to a highway and a garage, no security gate. I was uneasy. The place was clean but there was an odour of smoke. A stay in Bloemfontein at prettier, cleaner places plus breakfast for R650, so it R590 is not worth it for that place.
Unpleasant, fridge in the room was off, couldn't keep anything cold, the mattresses on the beds are very soft (lying on the base), the bathroom door handle on the inside was broken, the lights were dirty. Couldn't park my vehicle and pram safely in front of the room door, other prams and vehicles were parked in front of my entrance.
Arrived at Mountain View on Friday evening. Was very disappointed in the room allocated to us. The carpets are the type you would find in an old office block, and were very dirty, shivered just walking on it with my bare feet. Except for that there was also a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom which was simply covered with toilet paper. The aircon is very old fashioned and dirty, makes a lot of noise and takes about 5 minutes to start working. First time in my life I've encountered a place as bad and dirty as this. The other thing is that the total balance needs to be paid before you are allowed access to the room. Now I understand why, because had I arrived at this room before I had paid, I would have jumped in the car and go looking for other accommodation. The pictures on the website are not even close to what we found in the room. And don't be fooled to think it was cheap either - R800 per night for the 2 of us.
