We give Morestêr five stars. It is impeccably clean and tidy. There is Dstv, wifi, air conditioning, coffee, tea, biscuits, an honesty fridge from which you can buy meat for the barbecue and also soft drinks. We were received with kindness and true Karoo hospitality and immediately felt comfortable and welcome. Absolutely everything was thought of when the place was equipped, artistically and with good taste. Drive the other way and spend the night at Morestêr guest house in Vosburg. What a gem! What a fantastic little gem in the small town of Vosburg. We spent the night here on our way back from the West Coast and it was the perfect rest stop. Thanks to IG and Anna for the friendly service and perfect little guest house. The house is equipped with all the "creature comforts" of your own home. We grilled a nice lamb chop (supplied in the freezer) and slept like a rock. We will definitely see you again!

With the nectar of flowers in our eyes we realize it's time to return to the house where work awaits us with a new season starting, Dad and I study the road map. Dad talks to Johan van die Blou Huis and he informs him that my "old" road map distorts the truth, the road to Britstouwn is tarred all the way. I approach the web page to share the road, just to experience another day of rest , and spend the night near Britstown, they push me in the direction of Vosburg, 50km before Britstown. We book a place at Môrestêr, probably with the connection in the past, how will we know? On entering Vosburg, the first four-way stop I meekly to wave past the fellow road users, but no, no traffic. We greet a Sunday afternoon as each of us, from the farm, know it. No traffic, no noise, only silence. Anna Fourie, who informed us early that there will be no fuel on a Sunday, greets us on arrival. We get to know the honest fridge and freezer, because, there is no cafe or shop open on Sunday. It's an old house, I suspect early 1900s wooden doors, cushions and window frames, floor still original cement, gives a lovely cool effect.All furniture and de kor is authentic, with the most modern amenities you could ask for. The Fouries have managed perfectly to merge the authentic and the modern without us shouting at each other. The silence made us wonder, yes and then we heard it, a Church bell ringing. We saw the tower 5km from the town and were already interested. We immediately took the road on foot, 150 m down the street, first took photos outside in the street and then simply unhooked the chain and walked in, yes no lock, just a 3mm chain. We walked through the streets and marveled at the interest in the various plots, the cleanliness of an "old" village where the residents are now proud. On your next trip from the Western Cape or north-west Cape, don't hesitate to visit Vosburg. Yes, the road from Vanrhynsdorp via Carnavon to Britstown is tarred.
