It is clean and tidy and very peaceful.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting. Delicious breakfast as well!
The breakfast was amazing!
Quaint, but spacious rooms, beautiful views of the mountain, stunning gardens. Host went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
My home when away from home and will always stay there again during business visits to Cape Town. Helen, Alida and Faith are three stars and pleasant company.
Stunning stay, loved the decor, comfy bed and delicious breakfast, 5-star service!
I was treated with such kindness and care. The breakfasts were delicious, and the rooms stunning. Amazing views from the rooms. Only downside was not having WiFi.
We had a great stay! The farm is absolutely peaceful. You can come here to catch your breath, enjoy a coffee, and gaze at the beauty of the Stellenbosch mountains for a long time. We were well received and soon felt at home after being able to cool off in the cool pool on a bloody day. Ideal stopover for a wedding stay or if you need to escape the Cape for a night or two. On top of everything, the breakfast was also delicious!
Stay was very pleasant and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and delicious. Very good value for money.
Very friendly and hospitable.
We chose to stay at Muldersvlei Estate based on its location, which was perfectly central to the wine farms in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast provided and the pretty farm and its furry residents. The only downside was that there was no shower (bath only), which was not specified in the listing. There was no WiFi provided either, although not as critical as a shower. Otherwise, a lovely stay overall.
I had a lovely stay at Muldersvlei Estate. It is a beautiful farm and very reasonable given the area. I was looked after by Helen and Faith and felt very safe and welcome. The guest house is peaceful and close enough to Stellenbosch and the wine farms, as long as you have a vehicle.
Perfect overnight spot for local vineyards and Kraal restaurant for evening event. Friendly staff, good breakfast and peaceful morning views. Only downside was the bathroom which had blocked sinks which meant the shower and basin backed up, which wasn't pleasant. Bathroom could do with a spruce up. Otherwise fine.
Aside from the fact that the owner was not aware of our booking and we arrived at 16.30 to a place that still needed to be cleaned, the unit itself is in need of a lot of maintenance. The drains are blocked and make a noise the whole night. When you shower, the water does not drain, and the toilets are open on top so toilet smells fill the room.
It is advertised with the following: WiFi (none). Hair dryer (none). Microwave (none). Hot tub (none).
I was informed a day before the date of my stay that there was a double booking and I had to find accommodation in another place.
Beautiful, lovely farm atmosphere, very friendly and loving people. Heart people! Service was great!
We were warmly greeted upon our arrival. Rooms are beautifully furnished with an old rustic look. Breakfast was excellent! Our hostess went out of her way to accommodate all our needs. Would definitely recommend this piece of gold!
Quiet accommodation, good option if you want to get away from the city.
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay with great hosts and beautiful grounds. Great breakfasts.
Clean and very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful owners. Would recommend to all parents with children. We really enjoyed it and will visit again.
Breakfast was amazing, such a spread of delicious foods. The room was spacious and the bed was luxurious.
See stars.
Helen was an amazing hostess and took us for a walk around her amazing gardens and we swam in their pool as well.
Aunt Helen made us feel very much at home. Will definitely stay there again if we visit the Western Cape.
Super basic, but exactly what we were looking for. A step back in time, quite private and charming. Lovely friendly hosts. Can't wait to visit again.
Perhaps the bathrooms can be upgraded.
If you are looking for something really rustic and traditional with no frills but a totally authentic stay, then this is the place for you. Friendly service with an abundance of fresh-cut flowers. I really enjoyed the deep sleep, delicious breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice accompanied by cows grazing in the pasture.
Even the dogs are friendly!
The breakfast is delicious, the bed is clean. The place is rustic, something I don't like at all, but it's a step away from the De Meye wedding venue, that's why I booked it, because we don't "drink and drive". The place has enormous potential. What you need to know before booking. No window you can open at night for cool/fresh air. No window in the bathroom or room, the room door has glass. No air conditioning. No TV. No plug next to your bed. The worst for me was that the walls of the bathroom are not built up to the roof, i.e., your toilet's smells and sounds are in the room (which also has no window). For me, a toilet is a private matter and can take away romance from the room. Two of us in different rooms were also sensitive to noise and the "glug, glug, glug" for hours at night through the drain/pipes through the shower hole was disturbing. Also make sure the WiFi is working when you book, because we didn't. Their gardens are large and green, there is a swimming pool. There is a farm atmosphere and if you like rustic things the above things will not bother you. The hostesses are also nice.
Muldersvlei is a tranquil place steeped in history. It's well located for outside of Stellenbosch and there is lots to do in the area. The owner was very helpful especially when I had a problem with the wifi. Delicious breakfasts and coffee served on the verandah. It could do with some basic maintenance. Some of the amenities in the room were not up to standard.
Again nice and good service.
What a fantastic experience. Muldersvlei has beautiful gardens and a peaceful atmosphere. We had a great meal and parted as friends. We will definitely visit again soon.
The hostess was very professional, but also made us feel like family who have been visiting guests for years. We could talk, laugh and visit together. We were able to relax in the short time the sleepover served our purpose. The breakfast is fabulous and made with a lot of care and love. The farm personifies going the extra mile.
The accommodation was clean and tidy. We felt very much at home. It was safe and very beautiful on the farm. The owner Helen made it a fantastic experience for us. Will definitely stay there again.
Perfect location, comfortable accommodation with all you need for an overnight or weekend stay. Close to all other attractions in the area. Does also do weddings and can cater for other celebrations too.
Very hospitable, exceptional people. Had a great sleep.
When we arrive we were welcome with the most beautiful friendly angel she was amazing. We come there around about 21:00 the evening from a wedding and she made us this amazing scones with strawberry jam and fresh cream, and when she left us in our room we prayed before she left and I needed that so grateful for her. The morning when I wake up I was in a fairytale wow the beaty of nature amazed me. This was a very beautiful experience.
We will certainly return for the hosting, the beauty and tranquillity of the venue.
I was spoiled with the most amazing breakfast every morning. Had a safe and lovely environment. Anyone should try them! Thank you.
Helen received us very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and tidy. Lovely bath in our room! The house and everything on the site is a treasure trove of antiques and history!. The breakfast was out of the books! Great over!
I enjoyed my lovely room with a fireplace very much! The staff and everyone there were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and served on time. I hope to use their facilities again.
Clean, comfortable and delicious breakfast included.
Well located for a wedding at De Meye.
Beautiful place, but overbearing owner who wants to offer everyone a massage treatment. Place shabby.
We were received very kindly. Very neat bedding in old world accommodation. Delicious farm breakfast, no effort was spared. Helen is a remarkable hostess.
Friendly service and I just have to mention the breakfast was heavenly, freshly baked bread and delicious farm breakfast fit for a king. Stunning place! Value for money. Will definitely make a visit again. Many thanks to everyone who made our short stay so memorable.
Helene and her team were amazing.
Lovely beds, fresh white towels and tasty breakfast! Close to N1 and very centrally located! Beautiful view of the Cape mountains!
Helen and Juliette are two wonderful hostesses. Very helpful, warm and friendly. I will stay here again when I come to Stellenbosch.
Feel the history in the old buildings.
Nice environment, well priced and no hidden costs. Not ultra modern. Hostess is very friendly, can be demanding for some people. Hospitable and the breakfast is fantastic.
Expected a bit more, not like in the pictures.
If you are looking for a place to relax, Muldersvlei Estate is the right place to spend the night. It is located on a beautiful estate and the people are very friendly.
Helen, the owner, went to great lengths and even lit the fireplace in my room before my arrival. It is in a beautiful location and offers a truly beautiful view of the Stellenbosch mountains and would be very suitable for a couple. It is a peaceful farm experience and guests should actually be tourists who are not in too much of a hurry. Breakfast was stewed guavas and yogurt and freshly baked bread and farm coffee and you are truly taken care of. You can't get away from the warm farm experience and "city hoppers" might prefer more modern facilities, but for me the fireplace and thick bedding on a cold winter's evening was too lovely.
We really enjoyed the stay and the service was excellent. Will definitely come stay there again. You really went out of your way to accommodate us! Thanks so much (we could go clean up after our Muddy Princess and our check out time was extended to accommodate us. We really appreciated it!).
We were received kindly and effort was made to make us feel welcome and settle in comfortably. The room had fresh flowers and everything was beautiful and tasteful, clean and tidy. The in-room spa bath was stocked with bubble soap and bath salts, just in case you don't like one or the other. A complimentary bottle of ice-cold white wine in the fridge was a nice surprise! There are nice paths to go jogging and/or walking. Breakfast was served right in front of our room, on the veranda, with a lovely view of the garden and mountains. Breakfast itself (yogurt and meusli starter, with bacon and eggs as main course, orange juice and delicious filter coffee) was top notch, and very tastefully served. This is a lovely place to stay not just for one night, but for your entire holiday and then explore the Winelands from there, as it is centrally located.
The hospitality and high quality breakfast and neat rooms are good for your whole being. There you actually find an old world in the present. I can highly recommend the guest house.
What a stunning end to our trip staying at Muldersvlei. We were also privileged enough to enjoy a divine dinner at the manor house. Lovely, comfortable, luxurious accommodation.
Tranquil and most beautiful nature.
An incredible weekend in the heart of the Boland with a romantic fireplace, a glass of red wine and a lovely room. Accommodation was top notch, breakfast was delicious and the guesthouse manager, Johan, was unfailingly friendly, helpful and courteous. A fantastic farm atmosphere in the Boland that gives one the ideal break from the busy city noise.
We were received very kindly. There was a lovely complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge. The people are very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone in the future.
The room was not good smelled like a rotten chicken coop! Staff unfriendly.
This is a gem. Beautiful gardens, tranquil and convenient accommodation, friendly service and beautiful view. The unique rooms are furnished authentically and restored - the experience is real. Personal attention and delicious breakfast is included. The ideal resort after a busy day in the wine lands. Will definitely stay here again.
We have stayed at many places and we have never been so pampered. The people at Muldersvlei are people-people and help with everything; from specific food preferences to suggestions for places to visit. We enjoyed it very much. Thanks for everything.

Everything was nice, except no water in toilet. Uncomfortable.
The people were nice and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious. Good bed. Shower just has no pressure. There is a problem with flies, but we were assured they would solve it. Enjoyed a lot.
Breakfast (tasty and well prepared) was the best experience in the morning on the veranda! Beds were very comfortable and overall the room was well appointed. There was a wedding on the estate on Saturday night and it was quite noisy. As a whole it was quite nice, but overpriced for what it offered.
The visit was too short! Helen is such a graceful and caring host ... I don't think you'll experience this anywhere else. Instead of a flat screen TV, we were given a room with a LIFE-size fireplace! If you want to be spoilt by views of nature and sounds of farm activities and animals, this is your accommodation! Refreshing and rejuvenating. I'll go back and stay a bit longer!
Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
The Estate is beautiful in every sense of the word. Despite a mixup with bookings, and load shedding, the care given to us by Helen turned a nice stay into an absolutely fantastic one. We had booked in to Muldersvlei Estate as a staging point for an Adventure Bike training course on a nearby farm the next day. We had such a great time at Muldersvlei that it became the highlight of the weekend.
I would suggest to improve the maintenance of the swimming pool and improve the water system in the bathroom (more water and more pressure needed). All the rest was perfect! Very nice place and perfect hosts. We were very happy.
