Very beautiful location. Brings you close to nature with the river running past. You can hear the water, birds and see the stars. Amazing.
Lodge was ok considering location. Internet was non existent. Didnt work at all for the stay.
Although the lodge is well equipped, the maintenance is neglected.
No network. Rooms filthy with old rugs called floor mats. No electricity. Generator controlled and switched off while I was still busy.

Exceeded my expectations.
The owners and staff are super friendly and with the restaurant and spa on site it is certainly very convenient. Owners have confirmed that they will soon renovate the resort which is really needed. Once upgraded, the resort will be value for money, but unfortunately at present there are a few things that need attention in the room where we stayed. Like for example the light that was moved and the holes were not closed. Bath outside is damaged. Grout in shower should be replaced or properly scrubbed. The curtains of the four-poster bed smelled very bad - not dirty, but not washed for a long time. Good luck with your renovations N'taba River Lodge & Spa.
After complaining we got another room which was very nice and an upgrade as well. Staff is doing their best only a pity that few people eat in the restaurant at night. Wi-Fi not always working when there is loadshedding.
The reception staff was so unfriendly and at times acted as if we were in a military camp. I would not recommend Ntabeni Lodge to anyone who is known to me. Their conduct was disgusting and deplorable.
The place doesn't look like as shown on the pictures when it's being advertised, I was a bit disappointed. For example, the pool is not well maintained, and the blue lights in it are off (not working) but in the picture, the pool looks blue and attractive at night.
The lodge was very neat, and clean and in a good location on the river bank. Unfortunately, I had requested and booked a specific separate unit for personal reasons of privacy and proximity to other guests, which upon arrival was apparently not available. I was given an "upgrade" to a "superior" unit which unfortunately did not live up to expectations. The units are relatively small with the only window being the sliding entrance door, and crowded together, even sharing an open patio such that you could also hear all manner of noises through the night, TV, guests talking and moving about upstairs, toilets flushing, etc. which spoilt my experience and left me feeling hemmed in.
The place was very clean with excellent warm staff, tranquil and peaceful, perfect getaway. I will definitely recommend and will revisit.

Sadly this establishment is not up to 4 star standard and what we have paid for. The rooms smell of damp, the establishment in general is run down and need some much needed TLC. A place with so much potential, it's just not looked after. The restaurant's food is terrible and not having much options in town we opted for dinner at the lodge. Extremely disappointed in the food and felt quite sick afterwards. Although the staff have a friendly nature, their service skills and professionalism definitely lacks finesse. If you are thinking of visiting Port St Johns to explore the region, stay away. The place is a complete dump and just another municipality that has turned into a failed one. We booked for three nights at Ntaba River Lodge and forfeited two nights stay as we couldn't wait to get out of the place. Think twice before visiting the area and booking at this establishment.
I would recommend they serve lunch as well because there is not a lot of places to lunch in the area.
Had an enjoyable stay away from the hustle and bustle, African feel with friendly staff, made us feel at home and comfortable, luxurious rooms, a tasty affordable menu.
The was beautiful. The setting was absolutely stunning. The highlight was the amazing, friendly and very talented kitchen staff. The best fish I have eaten in a very long while. Wat an amazing start to our holiday. Thank you Moodleys for the amazing hospitality.
Wonderful welcome by staff! Nice, clean and very neat resort between the mountains and the river. The room was a cool escape in the hot summer heat. We had a great meal, thank you very much N'taba!
Stayed for 5 nights, breakfast is very nice, but the menu for dinner is limited. At least there are plenty of other places to choose from.
The bedding was dirty. There were no cups. Port St Johns is dirty and dangerous. Receptionist was not friendly or helpful. Waiters don't get tips.
A beautiful lodge with very friendly people. Helpful and with delicious food. Unfortunately, we couldn't go rowing on the river, but that certainly didn't dampen the mood. Just close to the beach and a little further from the lookout point at the runway. Probably a place to recommend.
We had a great stay at N'taba. It's a beautiful and neat place right next to the river, surrounded by mountains. I would recommend it for an overnight stay or maybe for a 2 night stay. The rooms were nice and clean. We had a very nice dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.

Our TV didn't work at first but they moved us later. The neighbors were noisy. Bedding was clean and decor in the rooms appropriate and luxurious. Buddha statues in front of each unit and pool. At least feel safe once you are in your room.
If you love nature and waking up to a breathtaking view of the river and mountains and sounds of birds chirping, you definitely need to come to this place. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything aswell as knowledgable with regards to attractions in and around PSJ. Ooh and the spa treatments will leave you feeling rejuvenated.i have already recommended it to family and friends and can't wait to go back. The only advice is to add more games to the games room.
We were on our honeymoon and greatly appreciated and enjoyed Ntaba's service, location, cleanliness and well prepared meals. The lodge is working like a well-oiled machine. Only one pity: due to work requirements we had to return, but we would have liked to stay another week, but Ntaba see us again in 2016!
We enjoyed the 3 days we stayed at N'taba River Lodge. The room was 5 star and we had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good, especially the breakfast. A suggestion: to open the bar at the restaurant earlier - we would have loved to, on arrival and other days, sit on the veranda/deck overlooking the river and have a refreshment. Instead we had to go into town to get some refreshments.
It was very peaceful in the Lodge. The lodge lies beautifully on the river. The pool didn't look that clean, which is a shame.

It was a fantastic time. We had a car accident on the way to Ntaba and they went out of their way to help and accommodate us with undercover parking etc. We couldn't use all the facilities because it rained most of the time. But it was great. Restful. Food was top notch!
