Visiting people should be arranged instead when there are no guests in the apartment, it felt disdainful. Had a nice stay, it was just disturbing to me that the owners were hanging out and barbecuing on the deck all Saturday. I would say that if you pay R1000 a night, you can probably enjoy the beautiful view and apartment in peace and quiet.

The room has a terrible stench of mould, which the owner must have looked at. It made breathing difficult especially when the room was left closed for a while. Although the room was clean, the floors have not been washed beforehand, and all corners and under/behind furniture should also be checked. Cooking a meal is a bit difficult as there is only one gas plate - but we could use it during loadshedding.

A security gate would be very welcome, then one could leave the door open and just close the gate and thus sleep nice and cool and hear the sea. Otherwise had a great stay and would recommend Nautilus.

Here's why I loved Nautilus: Enclosed yard means it's safe for your pet to run around off-leash. Clean accommodation. Free Wi-Fi. A range of books to choose from. Friendly owner who is available should you need her. Ample space to hang your clothes. Safe parking. A comfortable bed. Coffee and tea-making facilities including milk and bottled water in the fridge. A microwave and a two-plate stove with oven. The plates are super slow, though. The beach within walking distance of the accommodation. A safe little town. A modern flat-screen TV with a bouquet of TV shows from Netflix to Showmax. Tasteful decor. I especially loved that I didn't have to ask for the Wi-Fi password. The owner writes it on the welcome page left on the table and on the little blackboard held up by a wooden dude. Her welcome page includes a welcome list of recommended restaurants. Unfortunately, we were without electricity from 21:00 on Monday until just before 09:00 on Tuesday. The owner informed me that there was an earth leakage so they had to shut down power for safety reasons. These things happen and Yvonne apologized. I couldn't do without my morning coffee though. So they brought me some hot water from the main house so I could at least enjoy a cuppa. Much appreciated.

My daughter and I were on our way to Darling and had a quick stop over in Yzerfontein. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The apartment has everything you need and is beautifully appointed. The big blankets and gas heater kept the cold at bay. Yvonne was a lovely host and the location was perfect for us. Only one thing. No adaptor for the hairdryer. We will be back! Oh, and complimentary wine and rusks!

Everything you need for a peaceful, comfortable short stay. It's a long way from the restaurants and shops, but many will prefer that. Yvonne is a pleasant, caring hostess and the accommodation gives enough privacy.
