Amore was very friendly and helpful. Good location. Nice big spacious room (no 1). Neon Moon is a guest house with a lot of potential if everything that is broken is just fixed and more attention is paid to small things, e.g. a shower mat, mattress base covers, curtain hooks, tea/coffee. We were 3 guests, but only one towel was provided. The toilet paper was also scarce. We will definitely stay there again.
It was nice staying at Neon Moon, but they need to hire some staff that will assist on weekends.
The place is okay for one night's quick sleepover.
The room I originally booked was infested with ants and the toilet was leaking. I was offered an alternative room with the same ant problem.
We arrived to be greeted by the hostess and her children, very friendly. The place was fine, it just needs some TLC. Maintenance. There was no light in the bathroom, which they replaced immediately after reporting. They forgot our towels. No soap amenities. Very itchy toilet paper. Leaky toilet. The door needs to be fixed because it scraped along the wall causing damage. The bed was lumpy. It's okay for a shower and overnight, but not two nights. The gate remote does not work - open manually and is very heavy. The walls need to be cleaned - the ceilings are sagging. The spare door has a window at the top which was broken. Aircon needs a service. Not very soundproof.
Although the hostess is very good, the room is extremely small and the whole room was filled with black ants. There was no basin to wash the cups. The gate was broken and had to be opened by hand. It is very heavy and difficult to open and close. The warm water in the shower was either very hot or cold. The bedding was clean and we had fresh towels.
Unfortunately there were no carpets. The bathroom was not safe either. There were no bathroom rugs, and wall paint was all over the place and didn't have a pleasant smell. There was also a shortage of spoons and coffee, and the television did not work. Fortunately the beds were clean.
Very comfortable and neat. Value for money.

Establishments gate doesnt work and you have to open it manually. big security risk. no wifi. no water (the town has water issues understandibly ) but water pump wasnt turned on at the promised time at night, only the next morning. even then one of the rooms shower still did not work. fridge in room 4 doesnt work. no aircon remote/didnt work.
Sorry, but the experience was unpleasant. Guest rooms need attention. Unsafe, gate is opened and closed during the day, room not up to standard, aircon not working, no heater, carpets dirty, hallway door keeps slamming, wind blows under room door, no bathroom door. Bedding was clean and bed comfortable. Moved to smaller room where aircon works. Unfortunately the rooms are not up to standard.
Window is broken, icy wind comes through. No towels during our stay. Room not cleaned, carpets are dirty. Gate doesn't lock.
Guesthouse's gate is not electronic. Had to open and close it myself. We felt unsafe for our vehicle. Our door handle was loose, so any person could easily break into the room. When I called that evening and said we were going to drive back home instead, the drivers didn't even ask why. Guesthouse's location is not ideal. Room just needs a little TLC. There wasn't even milk/powdered milk for coffee. And I'm still waiting for the wifi password.
We are not happy at all with Neon Moon Guesthouse. 1. On arrival we were given room 1 and not room 5 as booked. 2. There was still balls in the toilet and no toilet paper. 3. The quality of toilet paper was the cheap, brown toilet paper and had to ask for a roll again on Saturday. 4. There was no sugar, had to ask for it. 5. No toilet brush. 6. No soap. 7. TV broken. 8. Electronic gate not working, have to move it open and close. 9. Lamp's on/off switch button's wiring open. 10. Don't even lift a cover.
Will definitely stay there again if I have to be in Welkom.
People are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely spend the night there again, should we go to Welkom again!

Rooms are neat and clean. Parking safe and feel safe to sleep over there. Easily accessible and good environment.
Nice overnight stay, couldn't find remote for aircon. But convenient for overnight. Will use again.
Our room was booked in error. After calling and confirming we are on our way and will check in after the usual check in time. It was very disappointing that the room was not ready at all, and we were only at the premises after about 5 hours. We specially paid the extra fee per night which is the honeymoon suite. Unfortunately there was no microwave in the room; we should have used the common kitchen. The bedside light did not have a globe, the main light was also out of order. I felt they could have accommodated us, and charged normal fee as it was not a honeymoon suite.
No mirror in room to blow dry your hair. One teal is down in shower. Curtain hooks are not all hooked in and hang sloppily. Curtain hook falls out of the wall. For this price, I have slept in nicer places. Hanging cupboard shelves have grease spots on them.
The cellphone/phone was on voicemail throughout, the emails were not being responded to, the main gate was not working and one had to open and close it themselves which was not an issue during the day, but was risky at night. There is no proper reception where one can go or call to get more information. More attention is needed from the host to the guest in terms of servicing the rooms every day and finding out what needs to be replaced in the rooms every morning. The host was friendly when we did find her. The room was clean and welcoming, but can they please make sure that all their TVs and decoders have their remotes and that they add on solar lights and put buckets of water outside the rooms to flush the toilets as they know that South Africa is going through a crisis of water and light. It was uncomfortable having to drive out to find toilets in town because we didn't want to sit with a smell in the room. And for every little thing we needed we had to go downstairs to look for the host because their cell phone is on voicemail and they don't have an alternative number. I would recommend Neon Moon because it's very clean, but they don't go the extra mile for their guests.
Stay was good, just water system needs attention, very nice and clean place.
