My stay was good. We enjoyed the rustic look and peaceful surroundings. Lots of effort put into the place to make it comfortable and homely. The only thing I would change is to add a door to the bathroom to separate the room and bathroom.
Nerf-down Queen's room was ideal for me and my husband. It is clean, tidy and offers the necessary for a few nights' stay. The bed sleeps wonderfully and the provision of coffee, tea, milk and biscuits is always welcome. I might recommend white towels only. It is also located in a safe area and close to Onrus' beach and Hermanus. There is so much to see and do in the area. Serina and Eugene made us feel at home and we will definitely visit the place again!
We had such a nice and relaxed stay at Nerf-af that we extended our stay. The room is beautiful with everything we needed.

Very comfortable. Everything we needed was right there in the room or a short drive away. Lovely shower and superb bed. Don't bank on an afternoon nap though, as the play park next door is quite popular with the children in the neighbourhood.

The cottage was well appointed and a delight to the eye. The hostess does not overlook any detail for her guests' comfort. She responded promptly to any requests and provided even more help than expected. The house is quiet and private with a lovely view over a green strip/park. We would definitely recommend it and hopefully stay again ourselves. 10/10.
Sadly there was no running water, but the host went out of her way to provide bathing water and drinking water. Nice location, very friendly hostess, always checking to see if we were happy. Will go back in the future.

We had a great time at the Nerf-af Cottage. Our toddler enjoyed the park the most (big bonus: gate that opens onto the park). Cottage is clean and tidy plus it has everything you need. (Rooms are spacious). We had a great barbecue and had a good time - we'll visit again! Next time we will bring friends (Cottage big enough for 4 adults).
Every room and item has been chosen with so much care and love to make your stay very comfortable but also such a beautiful experience. Nerf-off has everything you need and was painfully neat and clean. Hostess Serina was incredibly hospitable and helpful. We will come again for sure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the peace of Nerf-at Cottage. Everything was comfortable and available, and we loved the decor, had adequate space to entertain family visiting one evening, and were very cosy in our comfy beds on cold, wet nights.

The hosts kept us in the loop by means of WhatsApp. Load shedding updates were most welcome.
There were enough biscuits and coffee/tea. Delicious chocolate welcome cookies. A little sherry for bedtime and quality bath and hand wash soap. The room looks exactly like the picture. A 2nd seat in the room instead of on the bed would have been comfortable. There is very nice seating outside but not in the wind and rain.

The hostess was very kind and helpful in all respects. Everything is so beautiful and what I needed was there, especially to be able to have a nice bath. Serina let me know about the load shedding times which helped a lot.

They even had rechargeable lights in case Eskom decided to re-implement the much dreaded loadshedding! The best part of our stay, was the interior design and décor. Our visit to Nerf-Af was a wonderful treat. The decor was so right in my corner. There was enough space to "live" and was just excited to go home at night.
Is a very neat place and we enjoyed it very much, was close to everything and is in a safe environment. The room was very nice and clean and the TV was a bonus.
Would add a door onto the toilet and not have it open plan.
We only had to bring clothes and food (and indeed there were delicious biscuits and coffee and tea!). A grater, orange squeezer, hair dryer, heater, even shower soap and bath soap were there, dish soap, wine glasses, candles and a sharp flashlight, in case of load shedding, everything is there.
My wife and I had a most pleasant stay. Our host was friendly, welcoming and helpful. An added bonus was the home decor advice that we received from Serina.
One negative is that the toilet is open. No barrier, even glass or a door would have made some of the guests feel more comfortable.
Due to loadshedding, which is not the problem of the hosts, it was not well-priced for the winter months for only a room and adjoining sleeping area.

Not only was Nerf - Af the perfect choice on the first visit to Hermanus, but Serina and Eugene's humanity and hospitality also ensured that I take another wonderful memory with me and I can recommend the guest house to anyone who needs accommodation in Onrus/Hermanus. There are different rooms to choose from, each tasteful in detail, well equipped and clean. A playground right next to the guest house is a dream for any child. The detached cottage behind offers sleeping space for 5 people. Als with a classic French-style feel, which is rounded off with a picture-perfect garden. Truly a gem that one discovers. This accommodation is in a nice quiet area that is safe. Beaches and places to eat are also conveniently close.
We were warmly received by Serina, Nerf-Af is a place where you immediately feel at home, surrounded by artistic decor and a beautiful peaceful garden, it's a feast for the senses and feels like a treasure we discovered. As my husband was recovering from surgery, we spent a lot of time at our cottage and that in itself was very pleasant and relaxing. Serina is a very friendly and helpful hostess and it was a joy to get to know her. A beautiful place.
For our wedding and wedding preparation, both my two bridesmaids and I got ready at Nerf-af. Serina made it so beautiful and special for us. We also slept there after our wedding and the bridesmaids booked some of the suites because we were more people then. The decor and atmosphere of Nerf created the perfect background for beautiful photos and everything one could possibly need was equipped with the house. We will definitely be back for our wedding anniversary every year.

What a great find! Eugene and Serina have created a beautiful place with so much care and delicacy - and great respect and love for heritage and origin; completely private behind the main house, and fully equipped (up to WiFi). Their hospitality makes you feel right at home. It was truly a wonderful departure for an equally enjoyable weekend visit and by no means our last visit.
We enjoyed our stay and the owners were friendly and considerate. We weren't aware that the cottage is on the same property as the owners' house, but nonetheless we enjoyed our weekend there.
The cottage is just gorgeous! The attention to detail and the thought and love put into building the cottage and all the furniture and decor makes the cottage feel like home away from home. Eugene and Serina were great hosts, and readily available to assist with any requests. The queen bed was really comfortable, we slept so well! The house contains all amenities you could possible need, and there was even some fire starters and wood for us to enjoy a braai. All in all a great stay and highly recommended.
