Accommodation is offered in 19 chalets built above a lush forest, with access to the main lodge area. There are 8 self-catering chalets with a fully equipped well-equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area. Each of the self-catering chalets is are equipped with air-conditioning in the living area, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, a TV with selected DStv channels, and a bathroom with a shower. Each self-catering chalet has access to a boma area with braai facilities.
There are 18 chalets which that are not self-catering, where breakfast and dinner are included in the rates. These chalets comprise a 1 bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Each chalet is equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets, a bar fridge, a ceiling fan, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It also features a patio.
The lodge offers an open restaurant seating 30 people. The restaurant focuses on personalised service and excellent cuisine. A lounge area, housing a variety of wildlife books and board games, leads out onto a wooden viewing deck with breathtakingly stunning views of the lake and bushveld. There are 2 swimming pools for guests to enjoy, as well as a bar area and spa facilities. Activities include hiking, mountain-bike mountain bike trails and quad-bike trails. Guests can enjoy the abundance of animal and birdlife and spectacular views at the peaceful haven of Nibela Lodge.

Our cottage was very well furnished and equipped. The cottage is very private and among the vegetation that it feels like you are in a forest. The view over the lake is beautiful. The meals were very tasty with a large variety to choose from. The staff were all so helpful and friendly that we will definitely visit Nibela again.
What a cute place! Love the environment and everything around it. Will definitely market it more so more people can enjoy it. Absolutely a gem in SA. Glad to hear there is an upgrade to all the chalets.
Staff are some of the best I have experienced and make you feel very special. Tour guide knows the environment and area due to years of experience. Hospitality is fantastic.
Since our reservation was made everything went very well. We were even contacted a day before our arrival to make sure everything was in order. Friendly reception - most helpful workers. The rooms are comfortable with TV and air conditioning. Possible renovation needed here and there. The meals were of excellent quality!! Friendly owners. Nice walking routes, bird viewing etc etc etc. Sorry about the long dirt road to the main road.
We stayed in Nibela Lodge for a week. Chef Cindy served very creative and delicious food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and very private. The quad bike ride was definitely worth it. The Lodge needs some TLC.
We rested, ate deliciously, walked and rode quad bikes. The dirt road to the resort is in good condition and easy to drive.
If you want to switch off and rest this is the place for you.
I really did not expect the standard of welcoming, service and accommodation. Extremely delighted! We had a fabulous time! Thank you.
Everything was exceptional. Two worries though: Checking in did not go smoothly: our reservation was for five singles and all three chalets had double beds! So we had to change to chalets with single beds. Our second worry was: On the access road, about 10km from Nibela, a group of boys were 'building' a speed hump across the road... as we passed, they demanded gifts (not asked, nor begged, but demanded!). I just drove on past. This happened on our way in and out. The obvious purpose of the speed hump is to cause vehicles to slow down sufficiently to be able to intimidate them... This is my safety concern.
The facility was just fantastic - the view of a lake from our bedroom was beautiful! Thank you again.

Excellent
Accomodation and surroundings very pleasant, the biggest problem is the long distance on bad roads off the main road. Any days out take at least 40 minutes to reach tar road. There is also not much to do, disapointing that the quads were unavailable, TV's in the rooms would have helped. We would recommend a maximum of 3 days, we stayed too long at 6. Staff very friendly, food excellant, management could have made more effort on a personal level with the guests.
Great location, good food and well managed lodge. All lodge personnell very friendly and proffesional. I will return for another visist and will, recommend Nibela to all my friends.
