Good place and great value for money. Only feedback is to leave WiFi password in the room to give guests access to free WiFi.
Everything was a hundred. Just a lot of cobwebs in the kitchen cupboards and kitchen area.
The accommodation was good. However, there were pots and pans available, but no stove top or hotplate to use the pots. Only a microwave oven in which a person could not use the microwave.
1. The lace curtains are already torn in a few places as they were burnt by the sun. 2. The bathroom cabinet has no shelves. 3. The mattress was slept through. 4. The floor was still dirty after it was serviced. 5. The bedside lamps' bulbs are different. One is "warm white", the other is "cool white". 6. The wardrobe door cannot close, it presses against the clothes hangers. 7. A self-catering unit should have a pan. 8. The chains that hold the lower doors of the bedside tables are broken.
Excellent for overnight visits.
Our family stayed at Northgate Lodge for two nights. The cottages are well equipped, and the braai area overlooks the lovely grass and large swimming pool. We would recommend the lodge.
Room has all amenities and is highly recommended.

Not fully equipped for self-catering. There was no table to sit at and eat.
Very nice setting, green and well kept gardens. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by two things: Self Catering as advertised - A steel frying pan and cooking pot are provided but nothing to cook on. No stove/hob or even a two plate stove. The only means of heating was a microwave oven. (Thankfully I travel with my own gas bottle and cooker top). Load shedding - 1 candle provided with no matches. Load shedding has been with us for years now so it is not acceptable that a guest facility not provide some basic form of back-up lighting, if not a standby generator.
The toilet in one bathroom leaked terribly, so we couldn't use that toilet at all because if we press it, the whole floor is full of water. The unit was not very clean. The grass from the thatched roof was everywhere in the sinks and on the floor showing that the unit had not been cleaned before we entered. We waited an awful long time for service at the reception, we later had to ask the worker who looks after the cattle for help. With load shedding only the lights work, no fan or aircon works - unit is very hot.
We found Northgate Lodge very comfortable. It's easy to reach and is ideal for a stopover to one's final destination. Everything in the unit made our stay easy and the garden is beautiful. We will definitely spend the night there again if we have to travel to the north of our country or even if we are going to visit our neighboring country.
The room was clean, tidy and well equipped, I would suggest a bigger fridge as only bar fridge was available which was not expected. Northgate Lodge was a overnight stay on our way to holiday destination, so with only bar fridge, the freezer was not equipped to handle our meat. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Our 1st unit had a leaking roof and she gladly relocated us to another unit. Pool and braai area also seemed nice, we however opted for a night out at a place the owner recommended, glad we did. I would recommend as a one night stopover, maybe 2, but not longer.
They were friendly and went out of their way to make it nice for us.

Very nice stay, kitchen could use a little upgrade. Would have liked some extra kitchenware like steak knives, more pots and pans. But otherwise we had a very nice stay and slept peacefully.
Northgate Lodge is neat and clean. It was a great overnight spot.
