We had a very nice stay. Notting Hill Lodge is centrally located to visit the Nottingham Road area. We felt very welcome and the owner and manager went out of their way to make it a great time.

Great accommodation, great location, great hosts.
No problems, just a bit far away from places to eat. If it rained, you struggle to get to a place with a car and trailer.
We had another wonderful stay at Notting Hill Lodge. The beautiful Midlands lodge is a comfortable stay away from home. The hosts are fantastic and go out of their way to accommodate their guests. Thank you!

Beautiful gardens and view. We had a lovely stay. We booked two rooms because we were away with my girlfriend for the weekend. Our room didn't have a shower which would be quite bad if we couldn't take a shower with our "neighbour".
The family unit was comfortable and well equipped with everything needed. The unit was very neat and clean. And thanks for the toys the little team could play with.

"The little apartment has 2 bedrooms and offers accommodation for 4 guests. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds. Both rooms have an en-suite bathroom with either a bath or a shower with a sink and ' a toilet. Other facilities include a lounge, a microwave, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a TV with selected DStv channels. " This is how the family apartment is advertised on the website. I just want to say first that the stay was very pleasant, and everything was very nice clean and tidy, and the location was fantastic with a beautiful view, and we really had a nice stay. I was just a bit upset when there was no microwave in the unit, and no TV with DStv channels. Now the TV was really not a big problem as we are not big TV watchers but the fact that there was no microwave was a problem. We had a barbecue in the evening, and the facilities for that were fully at our disposal, but I did have ready-made side dishes that I just needed to heat up, and then there is no microwave, so we had to eat the food cold, which was not very nice. At least I feel that what is advertised should be available. The unit had all utensils and other necessary things, there was no place to wash dishes though, and I wondered what families who stay there for a few days do with all the dirty dishes. Perhaps there were common kitchen facilities somewhere, but if there were, we were not privy to them.

A problem is the shower that is in the bath, it's a problem to get into the bath first. I had a knee replacement in February and couldn't shower. Sorry no food is offered in the evening. They were very helpful with parking the caravan and providing power.
Most beautiful environment, scenery incredible. Spacious accommodation, comfortable beds with the best bedding. Can be a bit difficult for older people to climb the steps.
Maybe it's just me who didn't read carefully when I booked, but nowadays it is assumed that there is a TV in rooms/units. Perhaps you can only specifically mention on the website that there is no TV in the guest house/rooms, and that the rooms are all part of a house. Furthermore, the service was really good and the room comfortable.
The photos on the website do not reflect the accommodation. Only 1 photo of the stairs to the x stables. The photos only show the main house, with the 1 nice and tidy bedroom. Nothing was indicated on the booking that we would stay in x stables. The place has no aircon, doors are barn doors that don't seal, no kitchen and the bathroom is old and didn't feel comfortable. There were flies everywhere - although I know it's a farming community, nothing was done to curb it. We had to use our own fly repellent.

There was no TV in the room, as advertised. There was also no hairdryer (as advertised) so I had to go and ask for one. There were giant cobwebs in the rooms, so I didn't even want to use the lounge. The small fridge leaked water and it stank and wet the carpet. The porch and outside seating area is clearly never cleaned, so I didn't want to sit there either. The heater was broken and the evenings were freezing cold. The key broke off in the door. The toilet paper is the thinnest paper I have ever seen. I was also there alone and it is clear that they pushed me into the neglected corner. I couldn't park near the unit (like the other units) which meant I had to carry my bags all the way up by myself (no help was offered) and in the evenings I had to walk up that path alone.
It really needs a little more attention, like the doors have gaps, and it was very cold. It was pretty clean, but they could definitely do something about the decor. Kettle did not work. Other than that, it was good enough for just the one night.
Bed linen nice and clean. Had very poor communication beforehand. Braai area and crockery, but no kitchen.

Thank you very much for a beautiful clean place. The units are very well equipped and the view that greets you is beautiful. It can get a little cold, but each bed is equipped with an electric blanket and there are also wall heaters. It was really lovely to relax there on the way to Natal's coast!

The lodge is close to shops, restaurants, and craft stalls. I loved the décor and colour scheme of the dining room. The hosts were very welcoming and the rooms were absolutely stunning and comfortable. The venue is very quite and relaxing, which I really enjoyed.
We stayed in the family units. The place has potential. Needs some work on the gardens and needs a good cleaning. Otherwise, it's a very nice place to stay. Will definitely book there again.

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and Nikki is such a wonderful host! So fortunate to be able to have stayed there... even if only for one night. Will definitely be making a plan to go back soon!
Very nice and neat. It is close to nice little places to visit. Beautiful nature. Good cellphone reception and no DStv which makes it excellent to stay without the daily TV-watching.
We had a wonderful stay, very nice and spacious bedrooms, enough power points and storage space. Place has the most beautiful view. Neat and clean. Would stay there again anytime. All they could possibly improve is a washing up area by the kitchen area, but they wash all your dishes for you, so some people might not consider it necessary.

We were a family of 3 adults who went down for the Midmar Mile. Nottinghill Lodge offers a picturesque and most comfortable stay - the cottage was spacious and very clean and looked exactly like it did on the photos. About 26 km from Midmar dam, close to Piggly Wiggly and other interesting spots and eating places. We did not make use of the breakfast offer (R100 per head), but as there is a fridge, microwave and kettle we were able to rustle up our own breakfast. Cutlery and crockery is provided - unfortunately no running water in the kitchenette area. Lots of places to eat in the area. We will definitely return.

Notting Hill Lodge has a central location and is surrounded by picturesque landscapes. It's the perfect stopover and even convenient for a longer rest adventure. Neat and charming in the heart of the Natal Midlands with genuine hospitality and close to all sorts of interesting attractions.

The moment we arrived we were welcomed by the family dogs. Notting Hill Lodge is located in a central area close to Michael House. The rooms are very spacious and warm. Breakfast was divine. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

We had my 84 year-old mother and her sister with us and they also had an unbelievable experience at Notting Hill Lodge. It was cold and rainy outside but wonderfully warm inside with electric blankets and wall heaters inside. Coffee, tea, and delicious rusks.

Accommodation was comfortable and on the way back to Pietermaritzburg. Will be good accommodation for the Michealhouse Music Festival in April 18.

I ask all guesthouses to please install power sockets to us the ladies for hairdryers at the mirrors. I find it to be a problem at most guesthouses, as well as at Notting Hill's flatlet where we stayed. I loved the electric blanket - a definite plus during the cold weather!
If you are looking for something more refined this place is not for you, but the space was good for a small family. The maintenance was very disappointing with a dirty pool, porch, bins not emptied, weeds in the garden and mold in bathrooms.
