Beautiful campsite in nature. Only stayed overnight and could not explore the area. Will definitely stay a few days next time.
What an exceptional camping spot. It's our second time and we will keep going back. The grounds are immaculately kept. The bathrooms and kitchen area are spotless and a pleasure to use. It's a stone's throw from Pafuri gate, so very easy day trips into Kruger. But the campsite is so wonderful in itself; we love just staying in camp and enjoying the walks around the area.
If you love camping, Nthakeni is for you. This is a particularly beautiful part of SA. Safe and quiet. If you want to stay 2 nights, book 3, because you will want to stay. Excellent service, private campsite, super clean.
Truly beyond expectations. A well appointed kitchen with non-stick pans which hopefully guests will appreciate and not ruin through mishandling. An honesty shop open 24 hours a day and this in South Africa?! Above all, there are absolutely no keys to any of the doors or facilities. Come on South Africa, this proves it can be done. All it requires is good leadership, mentoring, commitment and management, i.e. good people in the right places.
Fantastic area with fantastic people. Great hiking trails. Perfectly laid and safe. So clean that the ground shines and is incredibly neat. The road to it looks wild but on the other side lies paradise. We drove in with a regular car, not a 4x4. Will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay. It's extremely neat, tidy and organized. So much so that you are scared to put anything out of its place. Two things I did not like are the office hours. If you have a venue, you need to be available 24/7 and not be rude should a client knock during the day. The lapa area needs better lighting and maybe a bartender to make that area fun to be in.
Nthakeni Bush & River Camp truly is a hidden gem in Limpopo! The campsite's facilities are impeccable, and every little detail has been thought of. Staying at Nthakeni was a pleasure like no other, and I cannot wait to return again!
Every detail is clearly meticulously planned. It was truly a wonderful home where we could camp under the big custard apple. Without light pollution, the evenings under the stars were picture perfect. Without noise pollution, the visits and silences around the campfire, something we will long for in the concrete jungle. Thank you very much for one of our nicest camps.
Place was so clean, tidy and everything was prepared for our arrival.
The camp is maintained with love and care. There is an eye for detail. The baobab campsite was very special with the stars shining through the outstretched arms of the giant baobab at night. Magic.

The location is incredible and the nature picturesque. It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Huge custard tarts, Heuglinjanfrederikke, Nienie, T-bones with Gloria and Thelma at Shack restaurant, hammocks, milky way, fruit bats, Wild garden. Unforgettable.
From the time we landed, we were carried on our hands. Campsite is clean and tidy. Road to campsite nice, but you are warned in advance about its condition. If you want to rest, this is the place.

Nthakeni Bush & River Camp is really just the place if you are going to find your soul again. Everything is terribly neat and so well looked after. There is a beautiful hiking trail that we did and WOW it was incredibly beautiful. Annalize and Kobus the owners are such people people. They are lovely and make you feel so at ease. The camp is very close to the Kruger National park, you can hear the animals on a quiet night. And of course for the little team fireflies abound. I can't think of the last time I saw one. The only thing I regret is not booking longer.
Nice ablutions that were always clean, with enough hot water from the donkey. Showers only have shade net left. It rained the last night and everything was wet. Still it was delicious.
Upgrade the access road.
Beware Google maps nearly got us lost but we fortunately spotted the Nthakeni sign! No Vodacom signal there.
Nthakeni is a beautiful place with very good service. The people are very hospitable and friendly, unfortunately there is not much to do in the North of Limpopo. Would not recommend going for more than 3 days with children as the Kruger National Park is the only attraction. Nthakeni has a beautiful swimming pool and nice view which we also enjoyed. Thank you very much for a nice winter vacation.
